There's no way to peek at the face hidden under the veil, people present to know if the man is the legendary spirit who can heal all ailments. The next second, that man accidentally tripped over his clothes, but his servant held his body firmly before the tragedy.
"Thank you my precious."
His voice was light, only the mask guy could hear what he said. Their suspicious interaction made Mio distrust them go up, Goldberg nervously apologized to him.
"Please allow me to guide you to her room." Goldberg offered to take Suraa to Iris's room.
Suraa didn't reply, but he put his right hand on Goldberg's palm, gently handing over the responsibility of pointing the way to her. They were silent for the whole distance.
Goldberg knocked on the door before entering. "Iris, It's me and Mr.Suraa, can we come in?"
"Yes, mummy, please come in."
"Mrs.Goldberg, would you mind letting your bodyguard stay outside?" Suraa pointed to Goldberg's bodyguards secretly, she agreed right away and turned to face them, "I don't want any interruption between our meeting, please stay outside."
Elio, who had remained quiet the entire time, couldn't help but ask, "Not even one person to remain?"
"I understand your concern, but I trust Mr.Suraa..." Goldberg didn't finish her word, but her eyes locked on Mio, they shared a consensus of silence.
The man in the mask closed the door as Suraa and Goldberg walked into Iris's room, and he stood on the inside of the door like a doorman, watching Suraa and Goldberg walk towards Iris.
"Iris, It's my honor to meet you." Suraa lifted his veil, his lake-blue pupils gazed at Iris with tenderness.
It was as if Iris saw the uncanny presence, her lips parted in surprise and she slowly said, "I think I've seen you somewhere before."
"Hehe, I got the same feeling with you, maybe we've actually met." Suraa was amused, the laugh made wrinkles around the eyes more visible, and his warm reply took the edge off of Iris's nerves.
Suraa approached Iris closer, but the next second, Iris screamed out, "Please! I don't want you infected this!!"
Iris tried to escape, but Suraa had to hold her hands before she could actually pull them apart.
"See? You didn't harm me, don't worry, I'm here to help you. Can you believe me?" Suraa's gentle voice soothed Iris's tense emotions, and when he let go of his hand, Iris felt an irregular stone in her hand, and when she opened her hand she realized that it was a bud of lotus flower.
As she was confused, the bud seemed to feel the energy of her life, the stone-hard bud slowly bloomed, and as Iris was surprised, starlight filled the room, and its thin as needles, The beam of light with great suddenly pierced through Iris's body, Goldberg cried and tried to run to protect her young daughter, but the masked man pulled her back.
The beam of light that had lodged itself into Iris's body, then, turned into a small ball of light emerging from her body, the flash surrounded her body and lasted nearly two minutes. The lotus flower in her hand withered as the last beam of light disappeared.
"A miracle..." Iris gasped in excitement, unable to believe what had just happened, and when she looked at Suraa with gratitude, she noticed that the color of his eyes had turned black, but Suraa quickly covered the veil back, Iris couldn't tell if the light made her dizzy and she didn't see it right.
"Oh my...Iris, your skin looks so perfect...How can I thank you..." Goldberg is also stunned by the miracle, she walks toward Iris to check her arms and Iris finally doesn't pull back from her.
Goldberg can't believe she can hold her baby tight and not be refused by her precious daughter.
Suraa gave space to them, he stood away from the bed, and he saw Goldberg cry with excitement, maybe the atmosphere of this beautiful mother-daughter love infecting him, Suraa smiled contentedly.
"Please...could you tell me if there is anything I can do for you? I want to know the reason why Iris would catch such a horrible disease, how can I prevent it?" Goldberg
The last second Goldberg was basking in the joy of Iris's recovery, the next she became worried, Goldberg clutching her young daughter tightly, looking like she feared what might take her daughter away.
Suraa shook his head, "Don't worry, I don't need you to do anything for me. I just removed the impurity for Iris."
"Impurity? I thought it was an infection."
"Right, but impurity is an existence that is difficult to articulate; it can be the soul of a living creature, an object that exists in the present world, or it could be a grievance that has accumulated from the past until now. I know it sounds ridiculous to people who can't see it." Suraa laughed helplessly, scratching his cheek in embarrassment, he didn't try to explain too much, because Goldberg was visibly in a panic.
Suraa comforts her, "Iris is lucky, the great spirit successfully chose her. " His soft voice was full of determination and confidence.
"I think is time for us to leave." Suraa patted Julian's shoulder.
When Julian opened the door, Mio and the bodyguards ran into Iris's room, they saw Goldberg shakenly holding Iris. Mio immediately pulled the curtains in the room, because the great sandalwood scent spread throughout the room, or maybe is Mio being too cautious, she didn't think this scent great for Goldberg.
"Mrs.Goldberg, are you okay?" Mio approached her boss.
"Yes...I'm fine, don't worry. I just need to hold Iris for a while."
But from a panic look on her face, it doesn't look like she's okay at all.
Back in the car, the masked man couldn't help but ask, "This selection seems to be different from the usual."
Suraa gave him a confused look, he propped his head up and thought for a moment, at a short pause, he laughed out in relief, he replied, "Do you remember I told you before that I had researched a genetic selection project with a friend?"
"I do remember." Julian nodded.
"I was in the same direction as his pre-research, so I had heard that he was doing something creative. At that time, he asked me to help him finish the pre-research calculations, and I found it funny, but I didn't know that he succeeded in a short time."Suraa pointed his finger to Goleberg's mansion, and continued, "Iris was a part of his research."
"Iris wasn't Goldberg and Brown's daughter?"
"No. Iris is their daughter. Brown was a genius, he made a replicated embryo with a sense of independent thought. I saw her once, she was so tiny, I didn't know she would remember me." Suraa is full of admiration for Brown's research.
"But did she know?"Julian is curious about why Suraa seems to know everything that happened to Iris because he only helps Brown a bit. Now, Suraa is the one who controlling the whole situation, a true savoir.
"Goldberg is the key to Iris's birth. Maybe it's because Brown was anxious to finish his project, and it caused a small flaw in Iris." Suraa smoothed out the wrinkles on Julian's shirt and his touch also smoothed Julian's tense. Julian looked at Suraa's hand patiently, waiting for his next line, and Suraa didn't satisfy his curiosity. "Before we talk further, you should clean those mice that keep chasing our tales."
Julian picked up his sword before he stepped out of the car, he turned his face to Suraa with a playful smile, "Wish me luck?"
"Don't get hurt, you know I need you more than anyone." Suraa smiled at him.
Julian had a strong urge to hug Suraa, he could feel his heart pumping with a warm float, Suraa always knew what he wished to hear.
Received a satisfied response, Julian jumped out of the car without asking the driver to stop for a second. He rolled forward to reduce the impact, his clothes got some mud on them, but he didn't care, while he waited for their chasing mice.
Car droved so much faster than they left Goldberg's mansion, leaving an image to people that one masked guy sacrificed them.
"Come on, don't waste my time. It doesn't look like, but I'm a busy man." Julian teased at the people hiding in the trees, however, none of them would respond to him, Julian shook his upper arm helplessly to loosen the tendons, "Well, I think my little guests are shy. Then don't blame me."
After his 'curtain call', he jumped in the direction of the nearest. The sword cut the tree smoothly, not a single barbaric move, the thick old trunk like a piece of paper as easily as he had cut through it. A tree fell, but smoke grenades exploded in space and Julian covered his nose, his eyes hidden under his mask searching for his enemy's location.
