Trigger warning incase you don't like Spiders, and or heights, deep water, these are in the chapter.

   

        It is the day of the trials, I was woken up gently by my family. "Come we got to get you ready." they said calmly. I nodded, calmly I got up got dressed in something plain but still nice not my nicest but still nice. They got me something to eat and then a moment or so later some guards came up to them. "It's time." they said calmly. I swallowed hard and looked nervous.  "Good luck." my father said. "We believe in you." my siblings said. I smiled nervously but nodded. Soon I came to the entrance of the Castle, Cole came up, "I'll take her." he said. "Are you sure sir?" the guards asked. "Yes." he replied calmly. So with this, he lowered himself and I carefully climbed onto the back of his neck.  He rose up with ease and I didn't even slip, I heard the other murmured and without another word he started to run before taking off into the skies. 

     

          It felt nice I no longer felt fearful of take off, it was natural and nice. I smiled real big as we flew around a moment, "I wanted to give you a moment to relax, I'll say this, you won't be stuck in their forever like others say it's false as those who fail will be ejected from the area and will be sent back to their families." Cole said.  I sighed with relief. "That's good to know, I read all about it and it never said that." I replied. He rumbled a moment, "Whoever wrote that must have forgotten or did it to deter others from trying to attend the trials." he said. I nodded. Soon we landed and he lowered himself helping me down. "Thank you." I replied. "You're welcome." he said calmly.  Once I was here I took my spot with Lotus and the others.  Cole took his spot with his family, and then King Darius approached, "Welcome everyone!" he shouted. Everyone cheered for a moment before he put his hands up and slowly everyone went silent. "Now, it is about time for our candidates here to enter the Trials, there are three,  The first is the trial of bravery. The second is of Kindness, and third is of wisdom." he said.  "Follow your morals and heart and you'll pass the trials." he continued. "Everyone! give them a cheer as they enter!" King Darius said.  The crowd and the dragons roared in cheer. "Good luck!" King Byron and Darius said.  

        We entered the chamber and it was pitch black at first and totally silent.  As my eyes adjusted, I noticed that the room was far larger than intially thought, it was cool and so far I didn't see anything that I feared.  "Remember, we have to work together." Kathy said. I nodded, we took a few steps forwards, "I did learn this, it's each of our deepest fears the first of us to have enter is the first one fear, and from the looks of it, deep water?" she said. "Yeah... that's mine..." one of the nobles said sheepishly. "It's okay, you can face it, we'll help you, can you swim?" Benny asked her. She looked pale and shook her head, "Whelp good luck!" Prince Fern said as he dove in and Briar and Starla followed. Benny hopped in next, 

           "Come, we'll help you." he said, it doesn't look too far and if you face your fears you'll be safe." he said gently. She whimpered and edge closer, but before she could enter on her own she was shoved in by the other noble before he took off. This shocked us and the rest of us dove in to help her. "Miss!" Benny shouted. She didn't emerge for a moment and he dove further into it. I followed and seeing under the water, there was no sign of her until we heard a strange high pitched whistle, we resurfaced a moment later and heard this, "Miss Safire has failed the first trail, don't be alarmed she is unharmed." the voice said. "I feel bad for her." Benny said. "Agreed.... she was afraid." Lotus said.  We all agreed quietly, "Alright we'd better move on see who's fear is next." I said quietly. 

             It took sometime to get to the other side, and we took a small break to catch our breath. Looking around the next fear was heights. "No...no no no no no..." the second noble was saying. The three Royals were watching trying to figure out how to get down. Looking down I shuddered a bit as I wasn't the biggest fan of it either, looking around the stream of water became a waterfall, it sounded and looked real. 'I don't really recommend this but maybe we just have to face that fear and just into the water, we can all swim after all.' I thought to myself. "I think we just have to jump into the water below and we'll be fine." I replied calmly.  "Well let's test that theory." Princess Starla said, She walked up to me and then shoved me down, I panicked a moment but then remembered what dad taught me and changed center of gravity and dove. The waterfall drowned out everyone's shocked shouts even her brothers were surprised.  After a moment I landed into the water and then resurfaced a moment later swimming to the shore. I turned and looked up waving at them. "Carlisa Passed this phase but must still face her fear." the voice said.  'Well that's good to know.' I thought to myself. The royals soon followed me, and as soon as they got to shore they ran off to the next part. The others I'd assumed were trying to get the other nobleman to follow. But soon an exit showed up, "Mister Stone do you forfeit? or do you face your fear?" the voice asked. 

   Stone stood there a moment, I could tell they were trying to encourage him but he didn't seem willing. So he goes through the portal. "Mister Stone has failed the trails, don't worry he's unharmed." the voice said. So with this, the rest of them jumped down and landed just fine into the water. "We passed this part but we still must face our fears." Lotus said. I nodded, "I don't know what my deepest fears are though." Benny said. "We will see what it is and we can work together like the kings said." I replied calmly. 

         "Yeah." the group said at once. "Shall we continue?" I asked. "Yes!" they said a bit more confidently.   We continued in the direction of the Royals and we heard a scream, which startled us. We sprinted ahead and then carefully spotted the royals, Starla's fears were this, Her outfit was all dirty and she was covered in mud, "All you got to do is clean this fireplace and you'll pass!" Fern said. "Come on we did it it's not that hard." Briar said. "No! I don't want to! It's a Servant's job!" she sobbed.  The others looked at her a bit dumbfounded, I just rolled my eyes. "Is this normal?" Kathy whispered. "Yep." I replied. "If she becomes queen we're doomed." Benny whispered. 

       She looked around and then spotted me, "You! clean this up." she said. "We have to work together right?" she asked. 'Uh.... yeah... but you have to help.' I thought to myself.  "You have to do it! they will have to do it too if not you'll be taken out of the trials." Fern said.  "Come on! Stop being a baby!" Briar said. "Come and do this now!" she shouted at me. About a moment or so later a portal came again, "Do you forfeit or will you face your fear?" the voice said. "Sis!" Briar hissed. "Don't!" Fern said.  "I can't! I don't know how!" she said. "It's easy!" the two said at the same time. 'This is kinda embarrassing.' I thought to myself. 

         Before her siblings could stop her she went through the portal. "SERIOUSLY!" The both of them shouted. "We know how to do this." the three of them said. "Alright lets get this done and we'll move on." I said calmly. "Right." the others said and together we got it done really fast. After this we moved on and this time it was Prince Briar's fear, we heard a deep growling sound. It was dark almost like it was night and growling got deeper and louder. Prince Briar was shouting a whole lot, fog rolled in, 

    "Double fears, good luck." the voice announced. "Where and who is announcing this?" Benny asked. "We don't know." Kathy said.  We spotted Fern sprinting around in the dark as we heard a sort of giggle. 'What is that?' I thought to myself. Suddenly we heard two screams and then everything cleared up, "Both Princes have lost the trials, it's not like they would have passed the others." the voice said. "Are you a real person?" Kathy called. "Uh... nooo....Also they are fine." the voice said. "Well that was convincing." Kathy said quietly.  "What was their fears? we didn't even have to face it." Benny asked. "Want to find out?" the voice asked. "NO!" we all said. "Okay, move on." they said. Soon we got to a different area, it slowly morphed and we spotted a werewolf in the distance, Panic set in, I turned to see Benny looking fearful, "Oh no..." he whimpered. "Benny! come here!" a voice snarled. The werewolf slowly turned towards us and then faced Benny. He looked really fearful, Kathy and Lotus carefully took hold of his hands, "It's okay it's not attacking us." I said. He nodded, "This is my fear, I must face it." he said. He swallowed hard and he took a step forwards, the werewolf advanced until he and it were face to face.  "What are you?" the werewolf said. "A-" he faltered. "Say it louder, if they're your friends, or if they care enough this stays within the chamber." the werewolf said. "Say it!" it said.

       We were confused at first, but then it clicked. He stood there for a little bit of time and a portal came up. "No! you can do it!" Kathy said. "It's okay!" Lotus said. He looked at us worriedly.  'I know that werewolves can either lose control or have full control...which is it for him?' I wondered. "We don't care if you're a werewolf! Werewolves are awesome!" I said. He looked at us. We walked up to him. "It's okay, we're here for you." I said. "That's what friends are for." Kathy said. Lotus nodded, "No one can hear through the portal right?" He asked anxiously. 'Oh... I didn't think of that! I thought anxiously. "No one can hear, it's okay, and nothing leaves this chamber." the voice said. Relief filled us, "I'm a werewolf, I have full control and refused to harm others with the powers that I have gained." he said firmly. The werewolf  smiled and then faded, "Thank you." it said before it was fully gone. We took a small break, feeling hungry and tired, "How long do you think we've been in here?" Kathy asked. "Well it's dim, it was about noon when we entered so it could be a while, we can't tell what it's like beyond the portal without failing so we'll only know once we're done." Lotus said. we nodded, "Let's move on." I said calmly. So with this we moved on.

       As we walked there were no sounds at first but everything slowly changed turning into a jungle like place and insects began to appear and then suddenly we're grabbed by something each of us yelped, and then we're in total darkness. "Where are we?" Benny asked. "I hope this isn't what I think it is..." Lotus said. "We're in a freaking plant!" Kathy shouted. This freaks Lotus out, "Hey, hey hey!" I shouted, "Don't panic! hold still! it's like a flytrap right? If we hold still enough it will think there's nothing in it, I watched it happen!" Kathy said.  "Remember this isn't real! when we were in the water, we didn't even get wet! the ash from the fireplace didn't get on us, and whenever Benny faced his werewolf self, they didn't hurt us!" I pointed out.  Lotus took a couple of deep breaths and soon we were dropped and the plant dissapeared. "You passed!" we all shouted happily.

       "Come let's move on." I said. 'Two more...Kathy and me.... we can do it.' I thought to myself. As we moved on the room slowly grew darker and darker, until it was totally pitch black. "Alright stay close...Kathy, it's okay alright." I said calmly. We paused, "We should hold hands, that way we don't get seprated," Benny said. "Yeah." Kathy said. "Hey there's a light up ahead, we can make it." Lotus said. "Alright, yeah this isn't too bad, there nothing but us here." Kathy said. "At one point I think we've had this fear." Benny said. "Yeah, I used to have it real bad when I was younger, I learned there was nothing to fear." I said. Slowly we made our way to the end and it got brighter. and until we got out.  "YES! We did it!" Kathy said. "Yeah!" Benny said.  We stayed put for a moment and sat down relaxing a bit.

         After a moment we spent time to recover a bit more, "You all noticed that when we had the banquet there was a lot and I mean a lot of food? and I still felt full even this morning heck even now I don't feel too hungry." Benny said. "Yeah." Kathy said. "Maybe in the past it took people all day to do the trials and so they need all the energy and strength so they had us eat so much since we can't leave yet." I replied, "Yeah, speaking of which we'd better move on, I guess it's now your fear." Benny said. I nodded, I sighed. As soon as I got up my friends looked freaked out, something was right behind me. Then I heard a hissing clicking sound. "Seriously....it's a freaking spider..." I said. I turned around, panic did set in, I remembered the time where me and the royals were in the forest, I don't know why but the brothers had sent me deep into the forest for a Glowshroom... it was found in the dark part. I thought I knew the area well but I hadn't and was taken by spiders... I stared up at it, it was exactly like the one that had me in it's web. At first I panicked, feeling the webs on me but then I remembered, Cole helping me, he took out the spider with his frost breath. and then I heard  my friends calling me. I opened my eyes, "I'm not letting this bother me!" I shouted, "You're not real!" I shouted and with this the spider disappeared and I tumbled to the ground. "Oof." I said as I landed on my side. "Are you okay? Y-you zoned out...." Kathy said. "Did you all by any chance envisioned the moment when you developed the fear for the first time?" I asked. "Yeah? That explains a lot... I remembered when the princes's tricked me into going into a Spider's nest.... Cole saved me." I said. "Dang..." Lotus said.  "Congratulations you've passed the first Trial...now proceed to the next room for the second trial." the voice said.
