The Fraternity

Chapter 10 The match

Chapter 10 The match

May 05, 2024

The match was a big event. Everybody was talking about it and how they hoped  that their team would kick the butts of the opponents. Girls were talking about the outfits and the boys from the other school that were coming and boys were making bets.

For Arlo it was too much of a hussle. He naturally wished for their team to win but he wasn't over excited, yet he was about to go to the match in the evening. He promised it to Tod. Jenny was in her high spirits. A week ago she went shopping with Elena and they bought matching outfits. Those clothes were supposed to be a real hit during the match and the girls were expecting to make a big entrance at the match.

Jenny was blocking their shared bathroom for an hour now and Arlo was getting nervous.

“Jenn, get out. Your body will dissolve in water any minute now.” He shouted while knocking on the door. She opened it with an angry expression and left for her room. Arlo only shook his head and took a quick shower. By mistake he washed himself with his sister shower gel but decided to forget it and get dressed as soon as possible.

They went back to school together and immediately got stuck in a big crowd. The people were pouring into the gym and taking seats.

“Arlo, here.” Some guy he has seen a few times with Tod waved at him. Arlo was a bit surprised but came closer.

“This row is for friends and team supporters.” He pointed at the front seats.

“Cool, can we sit here?” Jenny immediately grabbed Elena and was ready to take a seat.

“Sure, pretty girls are always welcomed. “ The guy smiled and with that it was immediately settled. The rows were full, Arlo recognized quite a few faces but most of them were new to him. Jenny and Elena were looking around, waving at some of their friends and  gossiping. Arlo threw a few glances here and there but he had no friends he could talk to. There was a loud sound that put the whole audience to silence. Both teams came running on the court at the same time people stood up and cheered for them, so Arlo followed their example. They all looked impressive, to be honest, so did the other team.

The game started and Arlo admired the fast pace they had while playing. Each and everyone were acting like one. Arlo had to admit that Tod was good, he never missed any chance to score and he seemed to be unstoppable. A few times he looked in the direction where Arlo was sitting and Arlo waved him and even smiled. People around him were cheering loudly for the school's team. Somehow the whole atmosphere and the game itself made Arlo a bit excited too. He actually wanted his team to win. He realized he was standing and shouting along with others. The first half was over, the team players were taking a short break and a group of cheerleaders stepped in. Arlo was watching the girls' performance and it was really cool. They were very acrobatic and their show was welcomed with loud applause.

Tod was standing in the hall watching the audience, his little cutie was sitting in the front row just as he wanted it. However Tod didn’t like the way Arlo was looking at the cheerleaders, with excited eyes he followed their every move.

“Tod, get ready, we need to crush them in the next half.” Mike handed him a bottle of water.

“You are watching the girls?” Mike smiled with understanding. “Some of them are really sweet.”

Tod gave him a dead look and turned around to sit down for a moment.

The second half began and Tod was playing aggressively. He even pushed another player and got a punishment. In the end they won and Tod was carried around the gym holding the cup in his hands while the audience went crazy.

“Captain, you were amazing” Somebody shouted. Tod felt high, the adrenaline in his body was finally calming down.

“Tod, let’s change and celebrate.” Andrew smiled brightly while accompanied by two cheerleaders.

“I will come, just a minute.” Tod went straight to the first row where Arlo was sitting. He bent over and was about to say something when a nice flowery fragrance hit his nose. Tod was always sensitive to smells, it was definitely not a typical masculine smell coming from Arlo.

“Wait for me, we will celebrate the victory.” He straightened and added with a bright grin. “You smell nice.”

Arlo blushed, it looked so innocent and cute. Tod couldn’t help it, he wanted to touch those rosy cheeks and plump lips. He wanted to do so much more, however he only turned around and went to take a shower. He felt sweaty and next to his cutie he simply smelled.

Tod was in a hurry, somehow he was anxious that Arlo might leave and that would spoil the whole plan he had prepared for tonight. To make his victory complete he wanted to move with Arlo a bit forward.

The whole team was gathered along with some cheerleaders and a few other girls and the team's friends. Arlo was there too. Tod felt a relief, which made him for a brief moment surprised. This little pet of his, had so much power upon him that it was shocking to the point it almost made him laugh.

“OK, are you ready for a party?” Tod asked only to hear loud screams of appreciation. They already had booked a private room at the best club in town and were heading there. Tod made sure Arlo was seated in his car, in the front seat. The rest of the group separated in an instant, two teammates were sitting on the back seat of Tod’s sports car. Tod turned the engine on and immediately hit the gas pedal. The car was purring like a wild beast and Tod noticed Arlo’s bright smile.

Fraternity, a kind of club or social gathering with people that might become to you even something more than a family. Isn’t this idea bewitching? A picture when everyone is smiling, shaking hands and enjoying each other’s company. A group of people who exchange similar interests and in the future.. Who knows? Maybe helping each other, or at least keep in touch and meeting up from time to time while exchanging good memories.
The first Fraternity dates back to 1776 and was established in the College in Williamsburg. A Greek motto, an oath of secrecy, a ritual, a seal and a secret grip or handshake to form a special bond among the men entering this organization. Sounds cool, no?

Reality is way different.
