“Ow,” complained Cinder trying to take back the earring. But Daisy had stormed back into the kitchen. Cinder almost following her stood in the doorway listening, blinking back tears. The conversation didn’t bother Cinder anymore and he didn’t hear it as he slumped to the floor, not worrying about anything anymore. Someone shook his shoulders, then put his earrings back in his ears and hugged him. Holding him tight. Cinder looked into their eyes dazed. It was the prince.
“My sweet,” whispered the prince, “you are beautiful even like this.” Cinder smiled and stood, holding his hands.
“My name is Cinder,” he told the prince. The prince smiled back.
“Cinder?” he asked, “will you marry me?” Cinder gasped.
“I will.”
