"Finally!" Bryan gasped in relief as they were free from the light, falling to the ground. "We made it!"
"Ugh..." Jackran laid on his back with a grunt. "I think we overused our energy with the medallions..."
Klarissa stared on the ground, gripping the grass. The medallions... they were so powerful... She looked up to look at the boys. And... they were powerful...
Galilea noticed the look on her face, and she swallowed. She dusted herself off and looked up. "Guys, look!"
The boys looked up and gasped. In front of them was a gigantic golden temple with a stone path that led to a silver door with two statues by it's sides; one was a statue of a golden woman with wild, long, orange hair and fiery red eyes as she held a sword in between her hands while the other was a lavender woman with flowing, long, midnight blue hair and icy blue eyes as she had a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other.
"Goddess Day and Goddess Night..." Bryan gasped.
"They look so... powerful..." Jackran stared.
The medallions floated up and each gave their glow, the half-sun red and the half-moon blue. The eyes of the the statues glowed in response. Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and the group watched as the doors creaked open.
"Woah..."
Klarissa glanced at the medallions then at the statues. The medallions were the key...
"Amazing!" Galilea beamed. "Come on, guys! Let's save the world!"
Bryan grinned. "Hell yeah!"
Jackran crossed his arms, eyes lingering but said nothing as they entered the temple. Bryan oohed, eyes shimmering at the walls and halls filled with golden coins, silver goblets, miniature bronze statues, among other glittery trinkets and artifacts.
"Wow... the inside of the temple is better than the outside of it..."
"Yeah..." Jackran hummed. He had to admit... it was quite impressive inside...
They soon made it to the end of the hallway, and they were met with an empty wall. Bryan frowned and patted the stone. "It's a dead end..."
"Hmm," Klarissa crossed her arms. "So we came in here for nothing..."
"Perfect. What a waste of time." Jackran groaned.
"No, no! We can't give it up now!" Bryan shook his head. "We can find another way!"
"Guys, look!" Galilea pointed forward. "Tunnels!"
They turned to see two tunnels. They moved to each tunnel, and one tunnel led up an endless amount of staircase and the other led down a long, endless slide.
"Fascinating," Klarissa hummed. "But which one leads to the prism?"
Bryan moved loser to each tunnel. The half-sun medallion glowed, floating above him. He looked up where they glow, and his eyes lit up. Two symbols above each tunnel were revealed; the one with the staircase had the symbol of the sun while the one with the slide had the symbol of the moon.
Jackran backed up to stare up. "I suppose that answers our question," he crossed his arms.
"Looks like it," Bryan agreed as the girls went by their side. "The tunnel with the stairs has the sun, which could symbolize sunrise, and the tunnel with the slide has the moon, which symbolizes the moon's position during the sunrise," He hypothesized.
"But both point in different directions," Klarissa pointed out. "How does work?"
"I guess we'll find out," Jackran walked to the slide. "See you guys on the other side,"
"I'll go with you!" Galilea offered.
"I'm good," Jackran waved her away. "Why would you wanna follow after me?"
"In case something happens," Galilea shrugged. "Also, slides are way better than stairs!"
"I'll go with Bryan then," Klarissa sighed.
"...great," Jackran huffed, sitting on the slide before pushing off.
"Hey! Wait up!" Galilea ran to follow after the boy down.
Bryan watched her disappear into the tunnel. He gave a hum. "Is that a good idea? Jackran doesn't exactly like company, especially with Gal,"
"Why Gal specifically?" Klarissa tilted her head as they walked to the other tunnel.
"Oh, they used to date," Bryan replied, heading up the staircase. "When they were thirteen,"
"..." Klarissa blinked. "Oh."
"Yep," Bryan chuckled. "So things can get a little awkward between them after their breakup,"
"I see," Klarissa nodded.
"GAAAH!"
"YAHOO!"
Jackran and Galilea slid downwards quickly. The slide was slippery, similar to one from a waterpark, despite the hoarse, rough structure. Jackran tried to stop the slide earlier, but it only ended up with him sliding faster. Galilea cheered as they slid, enjoying the ride.
They soon came to a stop, right in the middle of the slide. Jackran gasped. "Is it over?!" He held onto his chest, trying not to hyperventilate.
"I hope not!" Galilea laughed. "I wanna go again!"
The half-moon medallion gave a light blue glow. Jackran looked down at it, confused. "What-"
The slide suddenly disappeared. Jackran shrieked as they fell downwards. Galilea continued laughing, raising her arms up in the air.
"WOOHOO!!"
"THIS IS NOT FUN!" Jackran gritted his teeth.
"HELL YEAH IT IS!" Galilea only grinned.
The slide soon reappeared below them. Jackran gasped, holding onto the side. "Okay... okay," He took a breath. "No more of this... 'fun'," he scowled.
Galilea looked up and grinned. "I don't think it is," She giggled.
"Huh?" Jackran blinked. He glanced up, and his pupils shrunk. "Oh no..."
A force from behind pushed them forward, and Jackran released another shriek as they zipped upwards.
"Do you trust him?"
"What?" Bryan stopped in his tracks, gasping lightly for breath as he looked back at the girl.
"Do you trust him?" Klarissa crossed her arms. She didn't seem tired in compared to the boy. How odd.
"Jackran?" Bryan hummed and nodded. "I do,"
"Why?" Klarissa tilted her head. "He doesn't actually trust you. Hell, he hates you,"
"I know..." Bryan sighed. "I don't know why he hates me, but what he thinks of me doesn't reflect how I think of him,"
"I wouldn't put my whole trust in him," Klarissa huffed. "It makes you look naive,"
"Maybe," Bryan chuckled. "I'll accept it. He's been nothing but good to me for days. Sure, he gets on my nerves occasionally... well, most of the time, but he's still helpful and considerate," He smiled faintly, a light blush on his cheeks. "So... yeah, I trust him,"
Klarissa hummed, watching as the boy turned back to the front to walk off.
Their bond is too close... I have to fix that.
