Chapter 11: After the Battle

Makino and Arlandy, Arlandy's injured arm resting in Makino's back under his scarf, started to walk limping outside the alleyway, where they can meet with the emergency services Arlandy called. The pair was almost totally wrecked from the battle.

'What a wreck I was. And he was helping me get up and walk, An Armanben and A Kaidel holding together. This would be a rage and a sight to behold in a strange way, but he was strange to begin with.' Arlandy pondering on his situation now.

'What wreck am I. I had to take this dude to the emergency services along with me, it's a messy situation to get ourselves to.' Makino thought while holding Arlandy, but something inside gives him flush of negativity. Why? This continued while he is holding Arlandy along.

Then, a question came forth inside his mind.

'Just what Arlandy got himself to get himself beat up almost to a pulp or scrap metal?'

Soon after, the medical services arrived on their Merandis to take their patients, along with other Magistoids that looks like they are in law enforcement.

"Call in, Call in. We have the respondents from the crime scene. One Armanben  and one of Kaidel class. Both have sustained major injuries in their frames. Medical Services are now tending them for medical care. Now proceeding to apprehend the assailants. Copy and Over."

Makino and Arlandy were placed upon on what it looks like stretchers, but was made of magic.

"How are you feeling, Noble Sir? Is there any injuries that bothering you the most?" The responder asked Altor.

"Every part of my body hurts, but probably not severe."

Makino then looked upon Arlandy on the opposite side to him.

"He... He needed more medical attention. Just make sure he gets well.... Please." Makino said, his tongue(?) having some hold back.

"As you wished, Sir." The respondent replied.

Arlandy looked upon him when he said that with a weak smile on his face.

"Well, I guess I owe you much, Altor." He weakly said, but come upon to look on his very damaged arm, he gasped on what he saw.

'My arm, what in the- it's- it's almost healed! It's not totally scrapped anymore!! But it was totally wrecked by the goon, just why?'

Arlandy was shocked at this, as he and Makino were placed inside the Merandi in their stretchers to be properly healed.

The next day come and Makino is recuperating in a room in the medical facility. It was a quite large room with metallic walls and floors, medical technologies that doesn't look like what humans used and clearly being powered by magic and a soft bed overlooking though a metal window, with a comfortable cushion and a pillow.

((Weird part, am I right?))


Makino was up from his rest and while looking around the room, was pondering on what he had done yesterday. He doesn't wanted to think about it too much, as they look some unremarkable thugs in the street but on the other hand, there's something he can't take his mind off.

'They could be some thugs who extort from everything they saw, but on how they act back then, it sounds like something is exploiting them of everything that they had or no, it's just that they really wanted to take more than what they had.' Makino thought at that time but-

'But from what I've learned through the Madonet, the caste system that they had here, the discrimination between classes, probably they were also-' He had a thought again before he quickly cut that off.

'No, no, no!! They're Magistoids! They just wanted power more than anything. What's the reason why they conquered Earth, to be used for their resources.' His fury seethe through but he is now caught in a mental rollercoaster.

'But that guy.' He then thought of Arlandy's situation, something about it mirrored something in his life. Something.

'But anyway. Even I acquired this body, i still took a beating there. Luckily I had a sword, just where that came from. But still, Magic is really no joke. I had to prepare for it. Now that I'm a - I should have now be capable of using magic but I don't know how to use it. I need to learn from somewhere else.' He straightened his rollercoaster of thoughts to a new goal set his in mind.

Then, someone entered the door. It's his nurse assigned to him, from the looks of it, she really looks like a nurse. Her body build evokes it.

"How are you feeling now, Noble Sir? Is there still anything that hurts you?" She politely asked.

"Nothing much. I'm fine now." Makino calmly said before adding a question.

"So can I ask you something? Is the information about the incident yesterday would be publicly announced?" He asked.

"Oh, No, Sir. Your name wasn't mentioned in the news, so you don't have to worry." The nurse flustered when said.

Makino was supposed to settle down after that confirmation but a thought came through.

"A-About the one who is with me, is he also being treated well?" He shyly asked.

"Yes. He was on the other room as you requested." She said.

Hearing this, it gave a positive reaction within him.

"Thank you for that." He said while he turned his head over the window.

"Don't worry about his bill- expenses. I will pay for him. Just give him proper care." He added while facing through the window.

"Thank you for your patronage, Noble Sir. Now if I may." She said while opening the door, leaving Altor alone in his thoughts.

Arlandy is starting to wake up from his unconscious state and sees himself in a bit wide room. He then parsed his surroundings and upon looking the equipments, he knows that he is in a medical room.

"Oh yeah. That." He remembered what happened last night and it was, suffice to say, horrible.


He is still reeling from his injuries when the nurse entered his room.

"Oh, you mustn't get up yet. Your injuries still needs a bit more time to recover." She said in a quite caring tone.

"Ugh, yeah. Should've thought that." He moaned as he lay down in his bed.

"You are a quite lucky one. The injuries in your through your body isn't way too severe so we managed to heal just fine. Your arm, especially, has less injuries than the rest. Really lucky." Her diagnosis to Arlandy as she check his vitals through the magical equipments connected to him.

"Wait!?" There is something that caught his attention and starting to remember now.

"My arm? It's not totally damaged?" He looked in shock.

"Yes. As I said earlier, that arm of yours didn't get injured severely. Don't worry, your body will heal sooner than later." She finished her diagnosis there.

Arlandy remembered that his arm wasn't totally damaged the minute that he entered the Medical Merandi.

"Just what in Regulus happened?" He asked.

"If you needed something, just press the button near your bed and I will be alerted. So I'm gonna take my leave now and take your rest and heal." The nurse said as she finished her readings and now leaving the room.

As Arlandy is gonna resume his rest, he started to realise something.

"The room and equipments, they are quite top notch! Don't tell me!"

The nurse heard this and answered the question that in his head now.

"Yes. You are in the Atuveli Medical Facility."

This sent shivers within Arlandy. This is a high grade medical facility for the Armanbens and high ranking Hydafas. And it means expensive. Arlandy was in terror at this but the nurse, reading his expression, assured him.

"Don't worry about your expenses. It has been covered by Sir Altor. You are really a lucky one. You must have been in his good graces. So then, I'm taking my leave now." She leaves the room there, leaving Arlandy quite in relief.


"Well, I guess I owe you a lot, Altor." Arlandy said as he lay down on his bed to rest, looking at the polluted skyline in the window.

The Civil Tranquility Enforcement Organization, Torbadu: The government peacekeeping organization responsible for the enforcement of civil order in all of Regulus, answering under the world government. Composed of Magistoids from the two top class systems, the Armanben members are in the positions of power in the organization, while the Hydafas under their wing are assigned in different ranks in accordance to their skills, expertise and level of their magical power. They're the enforcers of the laws of Regulus that governs their society.

Torbadu Station, Keveli Sector Outpost - 12 hours after the incident


"Well, you really messed up there, punks. Stepping out of line and trying to assault an Armanben, how stupid can you be? You three should really face reality more." 


The one who talks to the surviving goons is the Sub-Chief of the Outpost, Medanku. His frame body was of the gray color palette, with quite blocky armor with some curves within it, invoking the armor used in military vehicles. His head is also shaped with the same armor that was in his body, having quite thick metal antennas protruding from his circular audio parts. His face evokes sternness that you would see in someone who is always enforcing the law with firmness and by-the-books with a no-nonsense attitude.


He paced back and forth in front of them and started the procedure for their punishment. But before he could process the preparation, the door opened behind him.


"Chief Hydolago!"


The Chief of the Outpost entered the jail cell, alongside another Armanben beside him.


"Release them from their bonds because Sir Atugalo, their handler will enact their punishments unto them."


This caused an internal reaction in Mendaku and wanted to ask why, but he couldn't do it, as it would have risked his career.


Understood, Chief." He released them from their bonds and Atugalo's mechs came over to collect them.


"I apologise for what looked like a breach of contract, but because they're my mechs and working under me, I am the one who is responsible for them, so don't take it at blodti (heart), Hm?" Atugalo, with a sincere tone in his voice, apologised to them.


"No, it's not, Noble Sir. We understand and we will do anything to provide any assistance for you all." He humbly replied after hearing this.


"Thank you." Atugalo replied, as he and his mechs took the goons with them.


Mendaku saw them taking off the jail cell and the door closed. Something sinked inside of him, but he has no control over it, he has to let go. <span;>But it was something that will leave a mark on him.

Lash! Lash! Lash!!!

"Argh!!!!!"

Sonds of screams and lashing reverberated throughout the metal dungeon under the home of Atagalo. Whips made out of magic is being used to torture the goons, tethering them into near death.

"What did I say about leaping out of your boundaries, gentlemen? Hm?" Atugalo nonchalantly said to them while he was seated in a metal chair in front of them.

The goons can't speak now due to the lengths that they have put through.

"You know, I am always anxious about able to do the right thing, how I do well, if I do it right, if I managed to help those ones in need. I got always in the pressure because I don't know what constitute right to others. Care to elaborate to me how to cope with it? Hm?" He said in almost airheaded tone.

After that question, he ordered his mechs to whip up more lashing over them.

Lash! Lash! Lash!!!

"Argh!!!!!"

Much more screams are heard throughout the dungeon it's almost deafening. Then Atugalo ordered his mechs to stop and started to ask questions.

"So I will ask you, who is the Armanben that you tried to assault, Hm? Answer!" He fiercely asked.

The leader is almost incapable of talking now, but with the bit of strength that he has, he uttered a word.

"A-Altor."

"Altor, huh? Never heard of him. I know almost all of the Armanbens in this and nearby sectors, but this is the first time I've heard of it " Atugalo was bemused.

"So, where do you think he came from, Hm? He must be settled nearby. Didn't you said that you've came over him twice. Probably scouting for a new territory to establish." He asked with some thoughts on his own.

"We-We don't know. But-But Arlandy might know." He weakly said, almost losing his energy on the ordeal.

"Arlandy? Is that the Kaidel that you've played with?" Atugalo asked.

"Yes~ He always come when we encounter him. *Cough!!" He coughed up ambrosia from his metal mouth.

"And where do I find him?"

"At- the Quarts Mining Company~ He worked there." The leader gave up his last energy on that answer.

"Hm, interesting."

"So I guess, I had to take a visit to that little Kaidel in order to get a hold to my fellow noble, to establish some amicable relationship." Atugalo said after the fact, then he ordered his mechs.

"Dispose of them."

All of them heard it and sends them in utter terror, as the mechs that torture them come near to them.
