You might take a step forward just because you're brave, and you might also cling on because you're afraid—afraid of losing or perhaps living with a misunderstanding that could extinguish the flame of your heart, the one ignited by someone's smile. A smile whose traces have not faded over time.
The colleague approaches Hana from afar, glowing as if he were the only person in the place.
He strides steadily, with joy radiating from his face as he carries Hana's belongings towards her with care. As the four of them, Hana, Nadir, Rayan, and Marwan, appear as if they've never witnessed a similar scene before. They gaze at him with anticipation, as if he were an angel in human form, the epitome of human existence.
Marwan and Rayan continue to gaze at him, smiling as he approaches. As for Nadir, he dragged Hana by her hands and began walking quickly toward the emergency room, Hana, still with her gaze fixed on her colleague, utters intermittent words as Nadir pulls her forcefully. Her short black hair flies as she walks, unaware of her body's movements, smiling with all femininity before turning to Nadir, who seemed indifferent to her surroundings. They walk quickly to create as much distance as possible, him holding onto what he thinks is his, or perhaps what should be his. His heart beats faster with each step, while his face wears a serious expression that almost frightens anyone who collides with it. Finally, Nadir, with his white medical coat, slows down, gently taking Hana's hand and examining her wound, saying as he runs his hand over the edge of his neck,
"I'm sorry, I was afraid for your wound, so..."
Hana gazes at him with playful eyes, her sparkling black eyes saying,
"Aren't you angry anymore? Have you started to fear for me?"
Nadir releases Hana's hand, which he was holding, his hand brushing against hers gently, as his heartbeats increase more and more while he tries to catch his breath, staring into her shining dark eyes.
Unbeknownst to him, she smiled as if it were their first encounter, remembering their first meeting. Just like last time, she stared at his lips for a long moment before shifting her gaze to his eyes. He was her first love in a long time, and finally, their eyes met again, those enchanting eyes. This time, she looked at his entire face, gazing at his features thoughtfully while he watched her eyes move delicately, saying, "Will you forget me again?"
Hana smiled, saying, "So that I won't forget," then smiled again and asked, "What about my hand?"
Nadir, remembering her hand, replied, "Oh, your hand," then took her hand again and continued on his way to the emergency room to clean her wound, which was nothing serious, just a gentle reminder for her.
As all eyes were on Hana's colleague, Rayan and Marwan directed their gaze toward Nadir and Hana as they left. Hana's colleague approached, pointing to the ring on his hand, saying, "I'm married, married," causing Marwan to burst out laughing loudly, while Rayan stood with a puzzled expression as if he didn't understand or perhaps couldn't grasp the situation. Hana's colleague sighed, saying, "What about your belongings, Hana?" as he held her things with heaviness and laziness. Then Rayan spoke up, saying, "Let me take them for you. They're my sister's belongings, after all," reaching out his hands to hold Hana's belongings. But Hana's colleague stared at him in surprise, saying, "Since when did Hana have a brother?" staring at him in disbelief.
He turned to Marwan and said, "Doctor, he's a thief, trying to steal her things claiming to be her brother," then he turned his gaze back to Rayan, saying,
"You noticed that the belongings are expensive, aren't you? Where's the police? Bring the police here!"
Then he started shouting like a fool while Rayan and Marwan stared at him in astonishment.
Marwan, who was hiding his laughter, while Hana's colleague screamed and Rayan stared at him like a fool without defending himself, until Nadir appeared out of nowhere holding Hana's things, saying,
"This is a hospital. You have no right to shout."
Hana's colleague adjusted his stance, saying, "Uh," then left Hana's things in Nadir's hands and turned towards the gate to retreat, leaving the three of them staring at him.
Rayan then spoke, saying, "Are handsome men this stupid?" as Marwan and Nadir both stared at him sharply. Rayan stared back in surprise, saying, "I know I'm handsome, but I'm not stupid. But just because you're not handsome, does that mean you're not stupid?"
Rayan sensed the angry glances from both Nadir and Marwan, then said,
"I'm just kidding, of course. You're handsome, of course... Hehehe," as Nadir and Marwan exchanged smiles and nods of pride. Then Nadir quickly stepped towards the reception desk, asking,
"Has the woman who gave birth a short while ago been registered?"
The receptionist replied, "Yes, the lady your fiancée was trying to register has been registered."
Nadir stared in astonishment, saying, "Fiancée?"
The receptionist replied, "We knew you were keeping it a secret, but she's prettier than you, Doctor."
The receptionists exchanged laughs while Marwan nearly burst into laughter. Meanwhile, Rayan showed a look of displeasure on his face, then forcefully snatched Hana's belongings from Nadir's hands, indicating his disapproval.
Nadir stared at him intensely, gesturing for him to return the items without the need for words.
Rayan looked like an angry but adorable puppy as he returned the items to Nadir, while Marwan continued to chuckle to himself like a mischievous child.
After standing for a moment, Hana appeared with her hand bandaged, walking gently as parts of her white dress fluttered, making her look elegantly alluring. She finally caught up with them and thanked Nadir for carrying her belongings. As she handed her laptop bag to Rayan, Nadir draped her blue jacket over her shoulders and adjusted her hair gently, leaving both Hana and Marwan puzzled by his actions. Hana turned, placing her hand on Rayan's shoulder as if embracing a companion, saying, "Thank you, I'll go back now."
Nadir stared sharply, removing his hand from Rayan's shoulder, saying,
"I don't think you still have the same Facebook account, do you?"
Rayan replied from Hana's position, saying, "My sister doesn't use social media," with an air of superiority.
Nadir retorted, "Then let me take your phone number, we still have to talk, you know..."
Hana gently pulled the phone from Nadir's hand as he extended it to her to input her number.
She completed the task and handed it back, saying, "Let's talk later," then returned her hand to Rayan's shoulder, exchanging glances with him. Leaving him staring intensely, asking, "What does this mean?"
Marwan replied with a smile, "It's the same person I know." As Hana and Rayan walked away, joking and laughing together, they moved further from the sight of Nadir and Marwan.
Marwan continued, "Ordinary gestures shouldn't raise suspicion, so there won't be any misunderstanding."
Then he looked at Nadir, saying, "He's her younger brother, not her lover. Your jealousy won't change that," as he placed his hands on Nadir's shoulders, adding, "It won't be easy for you to win this time," and pulled Nadir away. Nadir, still staring at Hana as she walked away, whispered in his heart, "Maybe we're together now," then smiled and turned his gaze back to Marwan, saying, "Wait, you didn't tell me where you met Hana."
Marwan removed his hands from Nadir's shoulders with a sly smile, saying, "I won't tell you," then walked away, leaving Nadir behind. It wasn't long before Nadir caught up with him, placing his hands on Marwan's shoulders this time, pleading for him to tell him where he met Hana.
Could a past filled with misunderstandings between Hana and Nadir lead to a love story?"Let's take a look at our main characters and meet them in person."
