Is it fair?

That my life is stripped away by a furious blaze?

Taken without so much as a tease?

Why should I face such consequences?

It was not I who created the sound of its descent, its mournful whining.

Why should I not be given the last reminder of my humanity before I die?

The memories, the pain, that should course through me as I burn.

I only hear its wailing war cry.
