I am feeling hungry now. I drove to my favorite restaurant to eat the best-fried chicken I liked.
As I stepped into my favorite restaurant, the smell of fried chicken instantly made me super hungry. "Yes heaven," I said
I went up to the counter, excited to order my usual meal. Just as I was about to place my order, a young woman with long black hair stepped up beside me, her brows furrowed in indecision as she scanned the menu board.
She seems to have a trouble deciding. I couldn't help but offer a sympathetic smile.
"Having trouble deciding?" I asked, with a warm and friendly voice.
The woman nodded, a hint of unsureness in her eyes. "Yeah, everything sounds so good, but I can't decide what to get."
I chuckled softly. "I know the feeling. If you're a fan of fried chicken, though, I highly recommend the crispy chicken tenders. They're my absolute favorite."
I saw a spark of interest in the woman's eyes as she considered my suggestion.
"Hmm, that does sound delicious. I think I'll give them a try then."
"Great choice," I replied with a smile, my hunger growing as I imagined the savory taste of the chicken. "I'll have the same, please," I added, turning back to the cashier to place my order.
As my food arrived, I eagerly picked up the tray like a kid, balancing it carefully as I searched for an empty table. Spotting one by the window, I made my way over and settled into the seat, my mouth was watering in hunger.
Just as I was about to take my first bite, I noticed the girl from earlier approaching me. She hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
I glanced around the crowded restaurant and shook my head, offering a friendly smile. "No, it's all yours. Feel free to join me."
The girl's face lit up with gratitude as she took the seat opposite to me, placing her tray on the table. "Thank you so much! By the way, I couldn't help but overhear earlier. You mentioned the fried chicken here is amazing. Is that what you got?"
William was totally on board with it and gave a big nod with a smile, gesturing to his meal.
Great! Then I have what you're having," she replied with a smile, mirroring his choice.
"I'm Mira and you? Mr?..." The girl asks.
"I'm William, Nice to meet you, Mira," I replied.
"How old are you Mira?" I suddenly ask."
"I'm 20 and you Mr. William?" The girl replies and asks William back.
"I'm 22, and please just call me Will." I replied with a smile on my face.
"Nice to meet you, Will," Mira replied happily.
"Here" I gently handed the sauce to Mira.
"Thank you! I haven't tried this fried chicken." Mira replied.
I said 'Try it, it's the best fried chicken I've ever had."
The woman takes in the mouth-watering chicken, feeling its tender texture and rich aroma. As she savored her first bite, the juicy flavors burst in her mouth, leaving her craving for more. The chicken was a perfect blend of spices and seasoning, making it a delightful treat for her taste buds.
"What's your verdict on the chicken?" I ask.
The woman just kept munching on her chicken without giving any response.
As they finished their meal, I cleared my throat, my heart pounding in his chest. "Um, Mira, it's been nice talking to you," he began, his voice slightly shaky.
Mira smiled warmly, her eyes meeting his. "Yeah, it has been. Thanks for the recommendation," she replied, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"The chicken is really good, the tenderness of the chicken. It's soft and easy to bite. Also good with or without the sauce overall it's a great choice. My new favorite." Mira added.
I felt a sudden rush of anxiety as I stopped, unsure of what to do next.
Should I ask for her number? But then again, I don't want to let this chance slip away. What if she rejects me or calls me weird because of my bald head? A lot of questions came into my mind.
I took a really deep breath so deep that my lungs would explode and blurted out,
"Would you, uh, maybe want to exchange numbers?... I mean, if you want to, hehe, of course. Totall...y up to y..o-u..."
Mira's smile widened. "Sure, I'd like that," she said, reaching for her phone and exchanging numbers with me.
Relief flooded through me as I entered Mira's number into my phone and saved it, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips. Maybe this day wasn't so bad after all.
After we finished exchanging our phone numbers, Mira said goodbye to me and told me that she was leaving, and cheerfully said "Let's talk later in the chat"
I agreed and took her to the door of the restaurant and said goodbye to Mira.
She was so beautiful and a cheerful person, I must have been falling in love with her.
After that, William got into his car and went to his house.
I'm exhausted, it's been a long day," I slumped onto the sofa like a lifeless teddy bear, feeling the chilly air blowing from the air conditioner.
I looked up at the ceiling and noticed a lot of dust, spider webs, and spiders hanging around. I started to question myself, "Maybe I should clean my place again like I used to. I don't like having a dirty home like before, but what happened to my cleaning routine?"
My phone suddenly lights up and a message notification appears. "Hi, Mr. Chick!"
When I read this notification I quickly knew who it was.
"I responded with a happy emoji."
"Hey, are you only going to use a happy face emoji, Mr. Chick?" That message from Mira had a blee emoji in it.
I suddenly laughed while reading his text, and I replied, "Hi? And also stop calling me Mr. Chick."
"Dummy" Mira replied.
"Are you free tomorrow morning?" I ask.
"Yes! With a saluting emoji," Mira replied.
When she replied yes, I suddenly had a bright smile on my face and then I asked without hesitation. "Can we go out for dinner?"
"Is your confidence high now? Yeah, sure!" Mira replied.
"Great, I know this cozy little restaurant with dim lighting and soft music. How does that sound?" I replied and questioned myself this me?"
"That sounds perfect. I love cozy places with soft music." Mira replied with a red heart emoticon.
"Me too. I can't wait to spend an evening with you." I replied with a heart emoticon.
"I'm looking forward to it as well. What kind of food do they have at the restaurant?" Mira replied
"They have a wide variety of dishes, but I heard their steak is amazing," I answered, my face a little bit red.
"Sounds delicious. I can't wait to try it." Mira replied with a fork emoji.
"I'm glad you're excited. I have a feeling it's going to be a special night."
"I think so too. I'm really happy you asked me out." Mira replied.
"I'm happy too. See you tomorrow evening!" I replied.
"See you then!" she texted back.
"Why am I so bold tonight?" Wiliam asked himself.
I was so engrossed in texting with her I didn't realize it was already midnight, specifically 2 am. I quickly turned off my phone, brushed my teeth, and went to bed to sleep.
Mira's pov
"Wow, that was unexpected," I murmured to myself, a soft smile lingering on her lips.
"He seems like a genuinely nice guy. I'm actually looking forward to our dinner tomorrow."
As the chat ended, Mira's lips curled into a soft smile, a warm feeling. With a gentle sigh, she reached out to switch off the bedside lamp, casting the room into a cozy darkness. Nestling into her pillow, she felt a sense of contentment, ready to drift off into a peaceful night's sleep.
