NEWT'S POV
Zendayah is now being chased by the 'Lost Boys' and 'Lost Girls' as her punishment for leaving the camp without my permission.
This is the consequence if someone leaves my camp.
I felt someone approaching me. It's Sofia.
"N! Stop this. She's new here and newcomers really violate the Rules & Regulations," she tried to convince me.
I glared at her, "You know me, Sofie. Once someone breaks my rules, you know what I'll do. I don't give a damn if she's new."
"But she doesn't know anything! She doesn't know what we're doing. She doesn't know what you're doing, for fuck's sake, N!" she angrily retorted.
"I know..." I replied.
"That's it then. Stop this. You recruited her. You should be responsible for her!" she snapped.
"I am! That's why I'm doing this, to warn her and prevent her from leaving my camp again!" I said.
I saw her biting her lower lip.
"Calm yourself down. Your hair is turning red..." she said and walked away from me.
I instinctively touched my hair, and indeed, it turned red.
Well... my hair is not just an ordinary hair like others. It changes according to my emotions.
'Red' means 'Angry' or 'Irritated.'
'Green' is my natural hair color.
I sighed deeply.
I need to calm down... I might do something and hurt her (Zendayah) because of my anger.
The 'Lost Boys' and 'Lost Girls' are aware that the color of my hair changes with the emotions I feel inside.
That's why I'm the leader.
But that's not the reason why they recognize me as a leader.
Well... I'm the cursed 'Newt Enigma.'
I silently smiled and snapped back to reality when someone called my name.
"N! We caught her. We tied her up now," Aiden said.
"We caught her near the river where the mermaidians live," Hiro added.
A smile appeared on my lips when they said those words.
"Guess... I'll never fail," I said with a smirk.
"Let's go!" I shouted, and they followed me.
ZENDAYAH SHANE'S POV
I am currently tied to a tree after they caught me.
What should I do now...?
I looked at the person approaching me, "You're just a newbie here, and now you've already broken one of N's rules," he said.
"I don't care! Let me go now!" I shouted and started struggling.
They shook their heads, "Ah, ah, ah. We won't let you go because the game isn't over yet."
"What?! Let me go! You're acting like children," I said. I didn't stop struggling.
"Stop being rebellious! You'll only get more tied up if you don't stop!" he shouted at my face.
I gave him a sharp look, "Let me go!! Let me go!!" I shouted repeatedly at them.
"Hey! Stop it."
Someone approached me and shoved an apple into my mouth.
"When someone is being noisy, you shut them up," the guy with a lip piercing said.
He grinned, "Good idea, Simon," he said.
"Hmmpf... Hmpmhp..." I muttered.
I hate these guys! Including their leader.
I hate him!
"Well, well, well. The prey has been caught," the familiar voice suddenly appeared. None other than their leader, Newton.
I remembered our first encounter with each other.
His smile was deceiving as he looked at me. I noticed something different about him.
His hair... turned bloody red.
"So, predators win?" he scoffed.
The 'Lost Boys' cheered, while the 'Lost Girls' remained silent, looking at me with concern on their faces.
He took a step closer to me and took the apple from my mouth, bringing his face close to mine.
"Now... since the predators win, are you ready for your punishment/consequences?" he said and smirked.
I didn't respond. I just glared at him angrily.
He laughed, "You've really got fire. I really like fire."
After that, he straightened up and took a step back from me.
"Now. Who's going to shoot first? Step forward," he asked the 'Lost Boys' and 'Lost Girls,' while holding the bow and arrow in his hands.
A few minutes of silence passed between us until one of the 'Lost Boys' stepped forward.
"I'll go," he said.
Newt smiled.
"That's my boy, Yuji," he said.
I started getting nervous as Newt approached him and handed him the bow and arrow.
The guy accepted it and positioned himself in front of me, stepping back slightly.
Then he aimed the arrow at me.
I heard Newt's laughter.
"Look at her expression. It's priceless!" he said, crossing hisarms.
I closed my eyes, preparing for the worst.
Just as the tension reached its peak, a voice cut through the air.
"Stop!"
Everyone turned to look at the source of the voice. It was Sofia, standing there with a determined expression on her face.
"Newt, this has gone too far. She's new here, and you're treating her like this? It's not right," Sofia said firmly.
Newt's red hair slowly faded back to its natural green color as he looked at Sofia.
"You're crossing a line, N. You know it," she continued, her voice filled with conviction.
Newt seemed to consider Sofia's words for a moment, his gaze shifting from her to me.
Finally, he let out a sigh and lowered his bow.
"Fine," he said, his voice tinged with frustration. "We'll let her go this time."
The 'Lost Boys' and 'Lost Girls' murmured among themselves, seemingly disappointed by the sudden turn of events.
Newt walked over to me and untied the ropes that bound me to the tree. I rubbed my sore wrists, feeling a mixture of relief and confusion.
"Consider yourself lucky, newcomer," Newt said, his voice tinged with a warning. "But remember, breaking the rules comes with consequences. Don't test your luck again."
I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. Sofia stepped forward, offering me a sympathetic smile.
"Come on, let's get out of here," she said, guiding me away from the group.
As we walked away, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of leader Newt really was and what drove him to enforce such strict rules. There was more to this camp and its occupants than met the eye, and I was determined to uncover the truth.
"Now! Shoot the target," I heard Newt shout.
After that, he released the arrow...
*WHOOSHHH!*
And it flew towards me.
I instinctively closed my eyes out of fear that it would hit my chest.
*THUUD!*
