After having killed The boss the portal closed, and suddenly the mood lightened up a bit. We had managed to close a portal. If we continue to do this around the world, it’ll be easy. But something kept bothering me since the beginning. Why is it that in my dream Brad had a spear in his chest when the only weapons the goblins used were daggers? Furthermore Brad had proven his strength; He wouldn't have been taken down by such a puny creature. What could it be? From afar I see a small human-like figure coming closer and closer to us without stopping. The closer it got the bigger it became and the closer I was to figuring out what it was. “RUUUUUUUUUUUUN'' Brad screams, “Aiko, Daiki get inside.” I ordered in a hurry. They do as I say and follow from behind; Bee also follows my instructions making his way inside the building behind Aiko. Before Brad can make it inside I close the door behind us leaving him outside in the open. He screams at us pleading to let him in “please let me in, please... It’ll kill me, please... I don't want to die.” As he goes to shatter the glass with his fist tears running down his face. Something shining from afar hits his back forcing him through the door and into the wall. Blood splashes in our faces, we all freeze and stand still, unable to perceive what happened. I slowly turn around, witnessing Brad with a shining spear lunged through his chest. Somehow still alive from the impact he cries, whimpering in pain. We look back where the spear came from and behold a ponderous flying creature with six wings almost like an angel.
The second spear it was carrying was covered in blood. Before it finds us I snap out of it and grab both Aiko and Daiki. Bee which was eating away at Brad's newly lifeless corpse also follows. We make a run for the stairs as the fierce and gloomy pressure from the demon-like angel weighs us down as it gets closer. Its angelic figure is merely a facade for its demon-like pressure. We start forcing our way up the stairs through the weight, despite it getting heavier and heavier. Once we make it up the stairs, the pressure starts weakening. It must have discovered Brad's body, so we go back into hiding inside a room. Compared to the other rooms, we had been hiding within, this one is different. It's covered in blood all over. Full of bodies from our teachers and peers, there's no sign of life. Nothing but death and sorrow. We sit on the other side of the classroom where there is less blood and bodies. Hence, there's no need to sit atop our deceased friends. I mean to me they possess no meaning, since most of them stood by as I got bullied every day. I couldn't really criticize them, though; I wouldn't do anything if I were in their position. I guess Brad ultimately received justice for his actions. “I Scoff” this place would probably be better now that he's gone. We sit down, with a constant smell of blood in our nostrils. A few minutes go by, and still not a word has been muttered. I don't know whether they’re in discomfort from the bodies to our side or if it's because they’re still in shock from Brad flying past us. Either way I'm surprised they’re capable of handling it so far without knowing this was going to happen. If goblins and monsters started to come out of portals out of know where I wouldn't be capable of handling it. I at length decide to bring up that we must decide what to do next. Since we can't really stay here since we don't have enough food. We also don't know what's happened to the monster we just saw. I bring up the super store next to the school and suggest we make our way there since we can find multiple supplies there. If we’re fortunate, we might be able to find a few monsters to slay. In an attempt of farming some exp. They don't say anything but they nod in agreement. I slowly get up and make my way to the door and scouted the hallway to make sure we weren't followed. Once making sure the coast is clear I signal them to get up so we can get a move on before it gets dark. Once again they simply nod in agreement. They slowly get up and make their way behind me as I escort us out of the classroom. Once we make it to the end of the hallway, we find the stairs. Fortuitously these stairs make it straight outside. Once we open the door, we make haste and run down the stairs and go outside. Before running full speed across the field and into the road next to the super store. As expected the roads are hollow. Nothing but crashed cars and inanimate bodies, the road coated in a thick blood, we make our way to the store. Right in front of it we discover a straying goblin, none of us having motivation I order Bee to go execute it. He runs up to it with his tongue sticking out from his mouth, his tail wagging from behind. Once we make it close enough he jumps up to its head. And chomps the goblins head off in one bite. In the meantime all three of us make our way inside the superstore. And again… Nothing but blood and corpses. “We should probably get used to the smell, we’ll be seeing alot of it these next few weeks.” I say. While making our way through the aisle, we scatter to try and find as many resources as possible, we also seek a place to stay the night. We look up and down every aisle in the store and acquire things such as canned foods and things that last long, like crackers. After a few minutes we reunited back at the chief entrance where we entered previously. We discuss potential ideas on what to do next and where to sleep since it's going to be night soon. We can't go back to school since that devilish angel is most likely still there searching for us. Therefore, we decide against any idea that involves getting close to that monster. We continue bringing up our ideas but aren't able to think of anything except waiting for morning. Before setting ourselves up for the night I bring up the fact that we will most definitely need to kill that monster since the school is the best place we can stay since we know the layout and it's an excellent place for accepting refugees and survivors. Despite not wanting to face the monster they nod “will we be fighting the monster?” asks Aiko, with a timid and scared tone. I don't know, but one thing for sure we need to get stronger,” I answer. They look at each other and agree. “ok,” they say, they go to bed and yet again I get the first guard shift. While they get some rest, I go outside in front of the super store by myself and slay the nearby monsters, most of them being goblins. I get further and farther from the store as less and less monsters appear. After one hour goes by, I’ve killed about a 100 goblins and have cleared almost the entire plaza. I make my way back to the store. However, instead of going inside I make my way to the back, and look at the school. The entire field is occupied by diverse types of monsters, from goblins all the way to orcs. The closer they are to the school’s entrance the stronger they get. First being goblins, following them are trolls, and then orcs. Most of them seem to be weaker than the angel we saw earlier. That's good, since if we can clear all the monsters all the way to the school we’ll have gotten quite a lot of exp and stats to defeat the angel. I go back inside the store and get Bee; I bring him to where the goblins are located. There are hundreds of them, almost thousands. I have about 1 hour before it's Daiki’s turn. “Let's see what I can do'' I say aloud. I use Bee as bait to attract as many goblins as possible. As soon as the goblins spot him, they start the chase. The higher classed monsters such as trolls and orcs don't seem to have an interest. They seem to possess a higher intelligence than the goblins. However, the orcs seem to have about the same intelligence as they do. I guess they just hadn’t seen Bee, Lucky me I guess. Bee brings about half of the goblins to the plaza. This means I have 1 hour to kill 500 monsters by myself. As soon as all the goblins have followed Bee I commence my attack from behind. I initiate my attack by increasing the heat in their general chest area. After having practiced this skill and increasing my intellect I am currently capable of using the skill a lot better and more efficiently. I can concentrate on about 5 points at once. I manage to kill all 5 of my chosen targets at once. Their lifeless bodies dropping to the floor simultaneously. The foolish goblins haven't even noticed their fellow comrades had fallen; they were solely concentrating on Bee who was still running away. I pull out my daggers and use Mana Slash from far. While analyzing and practicing my skill earlier in the plaza I learned that if I concentrate on the mana on my daggers and keep it contained long enough I can send a projectile forward. By doing so I managed to kill about a dozen goblins before the skill ran out of mana. Continuing to change between my projectile mana slash, conductor skill and fundamental slashes, I manage to execute multiple goblins reducing their numbers exponentially. 1h 15 minutes later, Daiki walks out of the superstore ready to take over my shift. He looks over to me, and pauses, not a word comes from his mouth as I walk by him covered in blood and panting. “good luck,” I say, as I go to bed. Daiki, still in shock standing there speechless as he looks over the blood-engulfed parking lot, nothing but corpses and blood, this time, for the first time, it wasn't human blood, it wasn't human corpses. Alternatively, it was monster blood, and monster corpses, this time instead of guilt and sadness there was joy and hope from the lifeless beings. For the first time in this godforsaken war, Daiki retained hope in Aoi. Hope that we will be capable of making it out alive.
