"Tell me which of the devils sent you before I cut off your head!"
Byron's angered yelling begins to turn heads towards the noise as more attention is being drawn to him. The other elves are observing with worried expressions and tensions are high.
Leon, still grappled by Byron is making attempts to ease the pressure on his neck as he tries to reason with Byron.
"I have no idea what you mean. Devils? What do devils have to do with what's happening?"
A deep anger begins to boil and edges on spilling over within the elf.
"I will ask one last time. Who. Gave. You. The mark?"
"Mark? You mean the one on my back? Some woman told me something about interference from others. Beyond that I don't know what she meant."
Gazing into the eyes of a fearful Leon, Byron drops him in a fit of anger as Leon falls back down onto his bottom.
Byron lowers his gaze, lost in thought as he folds his arms while compiling the newfound information.
With the crackles and snaps from the leaves and twigs around, Byron is forced back into attention as he shifts his head.
"Demur!"
"The tree roots are acting up sir! We believe the blighted is closing in on us!"
"Damnit. Everyone regroup! We retreat back home as quickly as possible! The barrier will keep us safe!"
"What about those two sir?"
"We bring them with us. Like it or not they have information."
With order's recieve from Byron Demure puts his index finger and thumb up to his mouth and blows, creating a sharp whistle.
All of the elves quickly come back and fall into position as they begin to run towards the sun.
The sounds of breaking branches and scuttling leaves as they are blown upwards fill the air as patches of dirt begin to rise. Sharp tree roots burst through the ground as the eight retreat to safety.
About fifteen meters away is the same humanoid figure that had assaulted Leon and Aria moments before meeting the elves.
Leon quickly gets up and quickly turns to Aria.
"Let's go!"
Before Leon could say 'go' Aria had already ran ahead with the elves leaving Leon behind.
Several roots pierce the ground and attempt to capture and entwine Leon. Leon quickly dives to his right as he rolls and quickly stands back up with a hop.
With a nervous expression Leon takes a few seconds to realize that he himself needs to run.
"Haha, I'm screwed."
Quickly turning to run he catches up to the others in no time at all. He is however exhausted after sprinting after them.
The story takes place in a fantasy, filled with swords and magic.
As dangerous beings of the world roam about,
so do the shadows who consume those who shout.
As the veil between worlds begin to stir,
the line between fiction and reality will begin to blur.
As the heros fight to live another night,
the world must go another day with its unseemly blight.
The child in his dreams will one day see,
many companions who will one day fall not just two or three.
For the shadows will not let it be.
The word of the Prince he has decreed,
To end this endless shadow's greed.
His people and innocents shall not be his feed
Alas the Prince's word fell on deaf ears,
as his companions became his worst fears.
The prince who once brought laughter with tears,
now brings destruction and people's jeers.
So She begs upon our heros for their power.
Whether she be sweet or sour.
In the end of a wilting flower,
It shall be their darkest hour.
