The night grew late, and Mya was getting tired, Leo put on his cloak and dagger said his goodbye not only to Mya who embraced him not wanting to let go as she feared for him. Finally releasing him at Leo’s urging as he needed to get home before anyone noticed that he was gone. Just as he was about to walk out, he put his hood back on before opening the door, he stepped out not one foot before stopping as he felt a hand upon his shoulder. Leo looked back and saw it was James at first he thought he had changed his mind but all he did was give Leo a warning. Stating that to his people, mainly Corvin he was now the enemy, but all Leo could say was that he was only following his heart and doing what was right. With this Leo smiled and left to return to his home in Dastan. Closing the door behind him, Mya and James sealed up their home for the night.
They left the cleaning for the next morning because they were both too tired to carry on. Once settled in bed Mya drifted off to sleep but it took James a little while to fall asleep. As Leo walked home, he looked up at the night sky hoping that nothing would happen. Before he realized it, he was home and the candle still lit up the house as it Hera waited for his return. Once inside his home he sealed the door and removed his cloak when he turned around, he did not see Hera waiting for him. He assumed she went to bed and followed suit blowing out the candle. He crawled in beside her and drifted off to slumber not knowing that tomorrow their lives would be forever changed. Outside his home in the shadows a figure stood watching till the lights went out. The hooded figure walked away keeping to the shadows till he reached the lights of the tavern. The lights lit up his face and his eyes glowed red as blood as he mumbled the word “traitor” as his hood fell back the light revealed it to be Corvin.
catalyst to bring them to war was found by the
town’s seer in the form of a dream.”

She walked over to James and kissed his cheek ever so slightly whispering in his ear. “Thank you.”
James put down his sword and stone turning his body placed his hand upon her belly and spoke warmly and reassuring. “Your welcome my love and don’t worry I will not start anything. I just want to be ready for everything and anything. I swore to protect the both of you and I will.” Mya smiled back at him taking a seat next to him and began to eat their breakfast, both taking their time.
James was not alone in his preparations for war as back in the village Leo too had begun to sharpen his sword, daggers, and arrows. As Hera looked on knowing that something was coming because the last time, he brought out his weapons it was for a war that lasted hundred years. Being his wife and a warrior as well Hera went about and grabbed her sword and arrows sitting down next to him, she began to sharpen them as well. If they are to go to war they would go together or not all. They spent the next few hours prepping their weapons and their armor as it needed repairs from the last time they were used. The hours passed for them as well as for Mya and James.
James took to loading his wagon with vegetables to sell at the market today while Mya got herself ready to go with him. As she got ready, she noticed that one of his two daggers were missing from the table where they were left she knew exactly where it was.
Mya marched out of the house straight towards James and the wagon. “Where is it?” she spoke quite strongly holding her hand out.
“What?” James replied playing dumb which infuriated Mya more.
“The dagger, James.” she replied quite sternly. “Give it to me now.”
Sensing that he could not win James preceded to jump off the wagon. “Look.” he sighed. “After what Leo told us last night I wanted to make sure I had something to protect myself with. Should he try anything this day.” He spoke before removing the dagger from his back under his shirt.
“I’m afraid that should you take it with you the others might see it and fear that something is coming and start a war. When they look to blame someone, I do not wish it to be you all because they saw a dagger under your shirt.” Mya spoke warmly and caring towards James.
“Okay, but I want you to stay here today. That way I know you will be safe here more than in the village surrounded by our enemies.” James asked of her handing over his dagger into her hand.
“Okay, just come back to me.” Mya sighed staring into his eyes.
“I always will.” James replied turning to get on the wagon.
Before he got fully on Mya grabbed his arm bringing him back down to the ground to give him a kiss not knowing that it would be the last time that they would ever be in each other’s embrace again. James got back onto the wagon looked down one last time at his family hoping that they will be safe till he got back. As he began to leave Mya shouted that she loved him and to always remember that whatever happens. These words he heard clear as day as he drove the wagon away towards the village.
Watching him ride away Mya spoke these words to herself “Please be safe”.
Once she could no longer see him or the wagon she went back inside to sit down in her chair. She placed the dagger next to herself so at a moment’s notice she could defend herself and the baby. What she didn’t know was that moment was near.
Across the lake in the ‘forest of mist’ a woman raced through the trees, bushes, and the mist her long black cloak seemed to miss all the branches of the trees surrounding her. As she ran through the forest all that was in her path seemed to move out of her way as she ran her face was covered by the hood of her cloak. A gust of wind blew back the hood without slowing down she fixed her hood concealing her face from those who may be watching. She ran as fast as her feet could take her even with the pain she felt in her head from what she saw for she had to warn them before they all die in fire and ice.
