Ella recognized the potential complexity of the situation if her aunt were to encounter the Demon King.
Her Aunt prompted her to schedule a veterinary appointment for Milo, the cat she had brought home yesterday.
While Ella initially acquiesced, she foresaw potential difficulties if she were to take Milo to the vet.
A sudden, thunderous noise emanated from Ella's room: DASH DHOOMMM...
Aunt Emily queried, "What's that noise? Perhaps Milo is causing a commotion in your room. We should investigate; he might be injured."
Ella, feeling apprehensive, hurried to her room and assured her aunt that she would check on Milo.
Her aunt offered assistance from downstairs, stating, "If you need help, I'm downstairs, okay honey?"
Ella reassured her aunt and suggested she rest.
Once back in her room, Ella secured the door behind her.
She turned to find the Demon King had shattered the closet. "I had a feeling you wouldn't fit. Why did I confine you there in the first place?" she lamented.
Approaching him cautiously, she inquired, "Are you injured?"
The Demon King rebuffed, "Don't approach me, human. Such trivialities do not harm a demon like myself."
Ella, with a tinge of sadness, murmured, "Is that so?"
Exhausted and overwhelmed, Ella reflected on the whirlwind of events. "My mind is in turmoil. So much has transpired in the last two days; it's difficult to process everything. And coupled with the lack of sleep, I fear I may collapse," she pondered.
Observing Ella's distress, the Demon King used his powers to soothe her, gently easing her tension.
Touched by his gesture, Ella's demeanor shifted.
The Demon King, feeling slighted, asserted, "Next time, I refuse to be confined. It was your doing that nearly suffocated me."
Energized by the confrontation, Ella retorted, "How is that my fault? You, the mighty Demon King, chose to stay in my home. By the way, Aunt is in her room; you may relax, but remain confined until she departs."
Fatigued, Ella decided to take a brief nap.
The Demon King remarked, "She's already asleep, mere moments after closing her eyes."
Reflecting on his predicament, the Demon King contemplated, "Even if I were to flee, surviving as a cat on the streets would prove challenging. It's been six months since my arrival, during which I've assimilated human customs.
There's something unique about this human girl; in all this time, I've not reverted to my true form. Yet, since her arrival, my powers have begun to return.
Despite not consuming anything for days, I'm surrounded by cat food. I refuse to partake in such fare... I shall venture downstairs in search of something more suitable."
For an hour or so, the Demon King maintained his human form, discreetly retrieving food without arousing aunt's attention.
However, upon hearing creaks from the kitchen and feeling thirsty, Aunt Emily decided to investigate. Her reaction upon encountering the Demon King was one of shock, prompting Ella to rush downstairs.
In the kitchen, Ella found her Aunt staring incredulously at the Demon King.
"Goodness gracious, could someone please explain what's happening?"
Three of them sat on the sofa while Ella deciding how to explain the situation.
Ella started by saying, "Please let me explain to you; this is not how you think it is."
Aunt Emily smiling said, "I know how it's for you young people. I was once twenty too, so don't get so worked up."
Ella realized it was time to handle the misunderstanding in a way that could benefit them.
She hugged her aunt with happy tears and said, "Aunt, you are the only one who can understand my feelings."
Aunt Emily asked the Demon King, "What is your name, lad?"
The Demon King replied with a smile, "It's Derek."
Ella wondered to herself, "Come to think of it, I never asked him for his name. Is he lying to Aunt or is that his real name?"
Aunt Emily said, "I don't judge people right away. I will slowly observe you, Derek. And I am very protective over my sweet Ella. So, if you hurt her, I am going to hunt you down."
The Demon King replied with a smile, "I understand."
Ella asked her aunt to keep things about Derek secret since she hadn't told her parents about him and she would like to tell them first.
Aunt Emily then asked Derek if she could discuss something with Ella. Derek gave them some space and went to another room.
Aunt explained, "Ella, I knew from the start that you are into handsome boys. I was too, couldn't get my eyes off him. He sure has a lethal face, but look at him, what kind of costume is he wearing, baby? Are you sure he is not some kind of pervert?"
Ella laughed and said, "I know him, aunt. Don't worry; he is a nice guy and takes good care of me."
While she was explaining this, she was flustered, even though half of it was a lie.
Aunt still asked questions non-stop like how two of you met and things like that. Ella lied and made up a few stories.
Aunt had some work to do so she left them alone and asked them to call if they need something.
When Derek and Ella were alone, he asked, "What did you tell your Aunt?"
Ella explained, "We are in a relationship and you are a student of my college. We met and fell in love with each other and you are staying here because you had an issue with the old apartment until you find a new one."
Derek didn't like the idea of being called as a lover of a mere human, which upset Ella.
Derek said, "What's with the look?"
Ella hesitated. "Can I call you Derek? It's better than Demon King."
Derek blushed and couldn't make eye contact. "It's just a name. Call me whatever suits you except calling me cat; I don't like that."
Ella smiled and nodded yes.
After he said that, he immediately turned BACK TO CAT FORM... which was hilarious.
Ella smirked. "What a good timing. My sweet Milo is back."
She laughed out loud. "HAAA... HAAA... Milo..."
Milo meowed, "Meow…"
"Not again.”
