“You still haven’t answered my question, what are you doing here?” Renly seemed to be in a foul mood since he had lost the match and finding the person here to whom he lost was not at all helping his already foul mood.

“Our friend’s a relative of yours, we’ll leave once he is done.” Nova tried to explain gently.

Renly, “What relative? We don’t have one.”

Henry, “Renly stay calm, pardon for his tone.”

“You stay out of this Henry, what are you doing here?” Renly grabbed Alex’s collar.

Nova, “Hey leave it wh—

Nova tried to keep him away but only got a mana enhanced push on his chest from Renly as he bumped in a nearby wall.

“What’s happening here?”

The tall man had returned with Blake.

Henry, “Dad Renly is—

“Dad these fools are claiming that their friend is ou—

“You! Why are you here now?” Renly got even more irritated seeing Blake here.

Before Alex could try to explain the situation, the man immediately started shouting at Renly.

“Go back to your room this instant! Is this how you treat your guests?! I’ll deal with you later, out of my sight right now!”

Intimated by his father Renly immediately ran back up to his room. Henry and Alex helped Nova get up who was rubbing his chest to ease the pain. Henry then followed Renly and went upstairs.

“I apologize on his behalf, he- he’s a troubled kid.” The man said as he brought his hand forward for a handshake.

“Nova”

“Alex”

They both said as they shook hands with him. “My name is Liam Gordon. Your friend Blake has told me about you all.” Liam said as he gave an understanding look to Alex.

“You boys are welcome to stay till your bus leaves, if you want.”

Alex, “Thats kind of you Mr. Gordon, but I don’t think Renly might like it very much.”

Mr. Gordon, “Oh don’t worry about him, he’ll be alright, Henry would be glad to have guests though, I would also feel good if you guys stayed and let me make up for Renly’s behavior. Besides lunch’s almost ready.”

Blake, “Yeah… uncle Gordon’s cooking… is the best.”

Blake smiled awkwardly at Alex and Nova trying to keep up his act.

Gordon chuckled at Blake’s attempt to convince Nova.

Contrary to their expectations Mr. Gordon was quite entertaining. The lunch was good. They got along well with Henry, as for Renly he barely said anything aside from the small glares towards Henry when he got too mixed up in their conversation and was having a good time. After lunch Renly went back to his room having no intention of being in the same room as Alex and his friends.

Henry and Nova played video games while Alex and Blake talked with Mr. Gordon. Mr. Gordon was a good friend of Augustus and he had moved here to earth after he had fell in love with an earthling. He himself was human and half ‘Quick Silver’ a rare race on Emerald. Sadly Mr. Gordon’s wife had passed away two years back. From then on Renly remained most of the time angry and irritated. On the other hand, Henry, the smaller one was soft hearted and friendly. But he too had become a little introvert since her death.

But seeing as how well he got along with Nova, Mr. Gordon was happy. Aside for his request to make up for Renly’s poor behavior Mr. Gordon wanted them to stay because, he had heard about who were after those artifacts. There was a magical domain around their house 24/7 which only allowed entry to the person he wanted. And breaking it would be next impossible even with 10 general level mages. So, the curses wouldn’t even think of attacking it.

Back in the living room:

Nova, “You know this game is quite fun, damn it felt good playing one after so long.”

Henry, “They don’t allow video games in boarding schools?”

Nova, “Nah, there are a lot of restrictions, even the reason why they let some of us even leave school premises was because the football team’s coach was looking after us. He is a little lenient with us and allowed us to go out.”

Henry, “It must be hard being in a boarding school.”

“Well, if you find good friends it becomes a lot easy.”

“Hmm, you up for more games?”

Nova, “Heck, yeah!”

“Wait here I’ll fetch some interesting game cassettes.” Henry went upstairs to his room. On the way he saw that Renly was searching for something.

Henry, “Hey what are you up to?”

Renly, “Shhh”

Henry was confused by his brother’s behavior. Then he realized what he was doing. Renly was going through Alex and Blake’s bags to find something.

“What are you doing?”

“I am teaching them both a lesson.” Renly then suddenly found a very expensive looking dagger in Blake’s bag. It was sheathed in a golden scabbard.

“This looks expensive.”

“Renly no, you shou—

“Relax, I’ll just disappear with this dagger and let them leave. When they realize, they’ll be panicking. Then I’ll return it back.”

Henry, “But dad will scold us.”

“He’ll scold me you just keep your mouth shut.” Renly stated.

With that Renly jumped out of the window and ran away. Panicked, Henry went after him to stop him. After some time passed and Henry didn’t return Nova asked Mr. Gordon where he was. The latter went to check on him but found both of them disappeared. Blake felt something wasn’t right for he immediately checked his bag.

Blake, “The artifact’s gone!”
