Adam was now staring at Randy and his buddies pushing around a smaller kid amongst themselves, taunting him by holding up his backpack to a height he could not reach.
"Give me back my backpack." The kid being bullied demanded.
But it was not his words that caught Adam’s attention. It was the little diabolical looking figures prancing around the whole scene, jabbering and hollering while occasionally opening their mouths wide open, sucking copious amounts of ethereal smoke being generated by the kid being bullied. It was a feeding frenzy of fear and anxiety.
Adam started making his way towards them.
"Not now Adam." Fabian said as he placed his hands on his left shoulder.
"But..."
"I know."
Quince looked away pitying the boy. He knew exactly how it felt. He had been bullied like that in the past plenty a time.
On the other side of the hallway was Annie. Adam was surprised to see Annie’s body contoured by a medieval armor of sorts. It was ethereal, yet seemed heavy and musky. An intimidating helmet was coming in and out of view. He had a flash of images pop into mind, images where Annie was a warrior charging into battle, leading a whole battalion of warriors.
"What was that?!" Adam exclaimed. "Were those images of a past life?!"
"Having fun yet? Hahahaha." Fabian laughed hysterically.
"This is… crazy."
"What on earth are you guys talking about?" Quince asked, weirded out by not having a clue about what they were talking about and the sudden bond they seemed to share.
"It’s nothing, Quince. Nothing at all. Right, Adam?"
"Yeah, it's nothing." Adam had no idea how to even begin to explain any of it to Quince.
"Ok, Quince, Adam and I need to make a quick pit stop at the men’s room. We will see you later, ok?"
"Hmmm, ok." Quince replied as Fabian put his arms around Adam and directed him into the men’s room.
