When Melissa emerged from the tunnel she noticed two things. One; this wasn't a secret room, this was a whole new part of the cave, and two; there was only two people in there. There was a girl with a brown ponytail, small wings, and a bored look on her face. There was also an elf-like creature who didn't look quite right.
The blonde began talking.
"What are you doing here!" she shouted to Karina. Before Karina could respond, the girl apologized.
"Sorry about the rude introduction. I'm Orie. I ran hell for awhile, before coming up here to fix some things. But enough about me. Why did you come here? It's not safe for... you." Orie gestured to Karina.
"What makes this place so unsafe!" Karina spat angrily. "I can take care of myself!"
Orie sighed. "Well, for starters, you have bat wings, dark sceleras, and natural crimson hair. You must be a Chirop. Listen, the people here are not great. And there's a bounty on Chirops." She said.
Karina stared at her, surprised. "Since when was there a bounty?"
Orie stared in confusion. "It's been there for three years. We figured you were running from that, and that's why you sheltered here. Also, who's the fairy with you?" Orie asked while the people behind her watched. Karina shifted uncomfortably, clearly disliking all eyes being on her.
"I'm basically a prisoner of war. My name is Melissa, though." Karina elbowed Melissa in the side.
"It's a cave. I'm a bat. Where else would I go." Karina said flatly. "Can I sit down?"
"Sure." Orie responded. Karina, finally getting the change, began to look around. The wall was still covered in glittering amethysts. There was a leather couch, two leather chairs, and a bed with a wooden frame and a green quilt on top.
"So why are there so many glowing crystals?" Melissa asked, enchanted by the magical feeling it produced. The glow made the cave feel much less like a cave, and more like another world.
"That would be me," the elf said. "I can light gems up. It's my Sun Elf powers." They said. Karina and Melissa stared for a second.
"I also am part wood elf. I created this place. My name's Aster!" They said excitedly. The girl next to me is Dianne. She... isn't very friendly. Anyway, this is a whole new cave system, so feel free to look around!"
Melissa stood up and began looking around this cave. She summoned a light orb and walked towards the tunnel behind the others. The tunnel was deep, but she was determined to find something interesting in a place she would be stuck in for quite a while. At the end of the tunnel, she saw a small opening.
Not again, she thought, as she entered the opening.
Deep in Winnow Woods, there is a cave of rogues who live in peace. However, when they develop a plot to overthrow the world capital, the common people must decide to help the rogues… or join the rebellion.
