In the solemnness of Apollo’s cyberspace, there remained 4 Governors seated around the table. Each seemed unbothered by the demise of another governor, although they were concerned about something else. “Well, that was to be expected from the late governor Cybris,” Apollo said looking unamused.

“He will be greatly missed,” Vector said as he rolled his eyes. “Yeah right,” Galaxia remarked with a giggle. “Now onto more important matters, the rebels, do we believe that the rebels died or that they’re still alive?” Apollo asked. “You saw them get crushed by the buildings, but you want to discuss whether they’re still alive or not,” Galaxia chuckled, “You already know the answer so why would we discuss this?” Vector sighed as he sat up on his chair, “Pay more attention next time, Galaxia. Are you concerned about what Tony said, Apollo?”

“Yes I am, Tony at that moment seemed confident in his words and he didn’t seem affected by their deaths, which makes me believe that they were not dead in the first place. He even mentioned that Lord Quinn was sleeping in a portable lab which the rebels used to escape their crushing death.”

“But that would be impossible, even if there was a portable lab, what portable lab would’ve been able to withstand the weight of an entire building crashing upon it?” Silver asked.

“Exactly!” Galaxia agreed. Vector shook his head, “I don’t know, but due to the reputation of Lord Quinn, I wouldn’t put it past him to create one that can. So I would bet that the rebels are alive and well in that portable lab that Tony called a black box.”

“We don’t have proof right now proving that the rebels are alive, only time will tell. But for now, let’s focus on taking out Tony. I’m sure he will continue the mission and eventually, Lord Quinn will reveal himself on the battlefield.”

“Then I should get my sector for his arrival,” Galaxia said

“We expect a lot from you now Galaxia, since you are officially the 4th governor now,” Silver said.

Her face beamed in hearing her promotion, “Yahoo! I finally got the promotion, my talents are being recognised.”

Vector squinted his eye with an emotionless face looking at her be so joyous in her delusion, She’s joking, right? She does know that by default she got promoted since there’s no one else, right? Well, let me not burst her bubble. Vector looked to the other governors and saw them also squinting at Galaxia unamused. You know what, never mind, I’m not expecting much from her.

Meanwhile, back in Laboratoria, Ethan came out of a rift in the lab and in front of the couch where he found Kunoichi wrapped in a blanket sleeping on the couch. He sat down in front of the couch and leaned back against it, his vision was blurry as his environment seemed to be moving without him. I wonder how long it’ll take for me to get used to vertigo... I could just push through it… Getting up shakily, Ethan stood on his feet and tried to remain stable on them. His vision became clear as he looked at Kunoichi sleeping, he leaned forward and gently poked the tip of her nose as he slightly smirked. Standing up straight again, he went to the elevator, TING, entered and pressed the 3rd floor button. I have some time before the rebels wake up so let’s practise our channelling in the meantime, I can’t wait to experiment with quantum energy…TING, he walked out of the elevator into the dim training room. If I was able to teleport myself instinctively while I was sleeping then I should be able to master teleporting with a little training and understanding. I hypothesize that self-teleportation is a level 1 channelling while teleporting other things is a level 2, let's see if it’s correct. Ethan relaxed his left hand as he sensed the quantum energy in his quantum glove, an instability whelmed him as he realised that he was in the quantum realm. He stopped channelling and was discharged out of the quantum realm, that’s quite simple and convenient; channelling quantum energy instantly teleports you into the quantum realm and when you stop channelling it, you get kicked out of the quantum realm immediately. This is great for me, that means I won’t need to use a lot of my energy to teleport; what’s even better is that the ramifications have minimum effect on me when I do quick teleportation… but I teleported on the same spot, I should teleport to a different spot in the training... Okay, here it goes… Once again he quickly finds himself in the quantum realm and is discharged briefly. Huh? I’m still in the same spot… I thought focusing and visualising where I wanted to go would work, but it doesn’t seem to help… hmm, let's try something else… Ethan looked around the room, scanning it within his memory then began channelling.

Once in the quantum realm, Ethan visualised the training room from his current position and began hovering away from his current spot. I theorise that since I can’t use my mind to teleport to different spots, I can probably move in the quantum realm and come out in a different position. If my visualisation is correct, I should be at the edge of the room… Leaving the quantum realm, Ethan saw the wall up close and personal. Oh? I’m closer to the wall than I expected, but my theory was correct. By moving in the quantum realm, I can teleport to another spot in the training room… I think I have level 1 quantum energy figured out, I’ll improve on it later so for now, I can move on to figuring out what I can do with level 2 channelling on quantum energy… What would be a level 2 channelling on quantum energy? Level 2 channelling is being able to cause an external output from my body, so how would I be able to do that? Do I shoot quantum blasts from my hand? Ethan chuckled, no no no, although that doesn’t sound bad… I mean I could just blast someone with quantum energy and have them teleported to who knows where… oh wait, I think a better level 2 would be what my quantum glove does; it engulfs an object with quantum energy then teleports that object to whatever quantum rift it can connect to… but if my glove can do that, wouldn’t be better if I just figured a new ability… Yeah I agree, we should make a new one along the same line…

Ethan slowly paced back and forth for a while trying to figure out what he could do then he stopped in motion, If my glove can teleport objects from one place to another, what if I use quantum energy to store some weapons in the quantum realm then I could conjure them when needed; Although the question is, how would I be able to do that? He began pacing again, hmmm… nothing is coming to mind, let me try to apply this theory practically, maybe then I might figure out something. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his energy sword. If I cloak the sword with quantum energy, it should stay in the quantum realm… He channelled quantum energy from his glove to his sword and enveloped it in quantum energy. Okay, let's see if this works… He let go of the sword, letting it float in the realm while he stopped channelling quantum energy. So far so good, the sword stays in the quantum realm if it’s cloaked with quantum energy. Now I have to figure out how to conjure it out from the quantum realm… what possible ways could I conjure the sword out? From what I understand so far about the quantum realm, is that the rifts in the quantum realm are all connected in some way. My quantum glove was able to teleport a large object using the channels in the quantum realm that are connected to the rifts. Wait… I created a rift with my hands using the quantum energy, so what if I create a rift and then link it to the sword with a channel… but then I would only be able to access the rift here in the lab since I created it here… maybe I could connect it to the glove… no, I would have to reprogram the glove to do such a task which I don’t have time to do right now… Why not ask the Great Spirit, I’m sure he can give me a better understanding of quantum energy. Yeah, let's go ask.

Finding himself in the spectrum of the quantum realm, Ethan looked around to find the Great Spirit. “Back so soon, mortal.” Ethan chuckled, “Yeah, I wanted to ask you a few things about quantum energy, is that okay?”

“Sure, ask away?”

“Well, I’ve been trying to figure out how to use quantum energy in ways that could benefit me and my comrades in battle, but there is a theory that I can’t seem to apply practically, so I need more knowledge such as is it possible to only teleport a part of my body only, not my whole body?”

“Yes it is possible, but it would require a lot of control over quantum in making sure that the part in question is the only part infused with quantum. This feat would fall under quantum entanglement as the mortals like to call it, being in two places at once.”

“I see, so only my hand would have to be infused with quantum energy to pull that off. But doing so would disrupt the flow of channelling within the body, I would have to suppress the energy in my hand before it quickly flows to the rest of my body. He also mentioned quantum entanglement, being two places at the same time; the more I envision it, the more it seems like a level 3 channelling ability. I’ll delve into it more later on in my training. That helped a lot Great Spirit. I have another question, since there are many rifts and channels in the quantum realm, I noticed that they’re all connected. I have this theory that I can store weapons here then create a rift and use a channel to connect the rift to the weapon; the problem is that the rift itself cannot move its location, so is it possible to access the weapon through another rift?”

“An excellent theory you have there, I've never seen a mortal try to store weapons in the quantum. To answer your question, yes it is possible but you would have to be in tune with the quantum to be able to do that and have mastery over the quantum.”

“Hmmm… that would take a lot of time to achieve, and time is not on our side right now. Are there any other possible ways to teleport an object from the quantum realm?”

“The simplest way for a mortal to do such a feat would be through strings & symbols.”

“Strings & Symbols?”

“Yes, this method of object teleportation requires one to make a unique symbol out of quantum, the symbol is then embedded on the object of choice and the conjurer’s hand. This is where the string comes in, when one imbues energy into the symbol, it connects the two symbols with a quantum thread and the conjurer’s symbol tugs on that thread which then pulls the symbol-embedded object from the quantum and into the conjurer’s hand.”

“Fascinating, so I just need to create a quantum symbol and imprint it on the weapon & me then let the channelling do the rest. That is a whole lot better than the theories I was coming up with.”

“The idea of using the quantum as storage is a good idea, but remember, if another mortal is able to access the quantum as freely as you are, then they could take your weapons if they come across it.”

“Hmm, true, but it is a risk I’m willing to take. So long as the symbol is on the weapon, I have nothing to worry about.”

The Great Spirit remained silent in the moment while Ethan seemed excited, “Thank you Great Spirit, once again you’ve been a great help to me with your knowledge.”

“Happy that I could help mortal.”

“Now if you’ll excuse me, I got some experimenting to do. See you soon.” Leaving hastily, Ethan found himself back at the lab after he stopped channelling. “Now where is that spot?” Ethan wobbly recalled the spot where he enveloped his sword with quantum energy, he teleported to the back into the quantum where he found his sword and dispersed the energy enveloping it. Returning to the lab, Ethan sat down on the floor and laid back as his vision was blurry again. Taking deep breaths, he sat up momentarily. He channelled a small amount of quantum energy from his glove and focused it into the tip of his index finger. Hopefully, this is the right way of embedding a quantum symbol onto an object. Like pen on paper, he drew a quantum symbol on the handle of the sword with his index finger and then the same quantum symbol on the palm of his left hand. Now, let's try this out.  

Channelling quantum energy from his glove, Ethan enveloped his sword with quantum energy and left it in the quantum realm. He moved to a different position in the training room and began channelling again from his quantum glove. He focused the energy at the symbol on his left palm as the energy infused with it. The symbol glowed with a spectrum of greens and the sword appeared at his palm. Ethan chuckled while he grabbed the sword, Nice… this will be a very useful technique in battle… I’d say this is a good level 2 channelling ability… for now, I don’t think we need a level 3 channelling ability so let’s focus on improving levels 1 & 2.

TING

His attention was drawn to the elevator as someone stepped out and their eyes met with Ethan’s to their surprise. Sighing in relief while beaming, they quickly walk over to him and wrap their arms around him. “Ethan, you jerk, where have you been?! You had me worried sick.”
