As he lived with his new family, Domink furthered his love for horses and blacksmithing into a love for the creatures around his parents’ home. Particular the lions as there were many prides around their land. Over the years Domink came to see the lions as honourable creatures like the immortals. One day on the eve of his fourteenth birthday, he came across a cub who was abandoned by her mother and left to die. Feeling a kinship with her Domink took to raising her along with his parents until the day when she left him. From that day he found her to long after Domink took to calling her Niamh which meant brightness to his life. Even after she left him Niamh was still loyal to him keeping an ever watchful eye on him – protecting him from everything and everyone like he was one of her own. She wasn't the only one to watch over Domink as he grew into a handsome five feet ten inch, long brown hair (usually parted in half) lean, muscular warrior.
Across the rive Aurora was growing into a beautiful young lady each and every day. By the time she was ten, Aurora began to show her father's traits with her bright green eyes and long flowing brown hair. But she started to display more than just his appearance and traits as she too like her father and Domink did not believe that the child of prophecy was evil. Like her father Aurora kept this to herself letting only kin know. Like Domink, she found that she was quite proficient with the sword also like him she had a love of the animals around her parents’ home. She spent most of her time watching and painting the wild creatures. Aurora found that painting relaxed her taking her into a world where there was no hate or indifference. Her talent with the brush made her painting seem more life like then the real ones. All of her painting were shared among the family members.
Aurora had did a special painting for Domink of a lioness and her cubs which she gifted to him on his twenty-fifth birthday. In her eyes Domink was perfect in every way and though she knew it was forbidden Aurora found herself dreaming about him as she slept.
Aurora would watch from across the river as he chopped wood or train with his sword and bow. Most of the time he was shirtless when he was training. She loved how his olive skin seemed to glisten in the sunlight even thou he was a walker and could not stay in the sun for long. It was the one thing he like to do was train in the sun. Aurora was thankful for this because it was only during the day that she could see him in his glory. For Aurora this love for him only grew stronger the more time she spent with him getting to know him. Even thou her mother objected to her closeness Willow didn't see that there was anything to fear since Domink was an honourable and quiet man. Her infatuation went from this to one of true friendship.
From the time she was fourteen on Aurora spent many days with him talking and watching him train though most of the time spent on training. Aurora painted and talked while he trained. Never once did their parents put an end to this friendship not even when they lost track of days and hours. Since they were always in someone’s view for their friendship was true. Aurora still had feelings for him which was forbidden yet he didn’t have those feelings for her at least not yet. To him she was his best friend and nothing else as he never saw her beauty like all the others did. To him all he ever saw was her inner beauty. All of this changed on her twenty-first birthday.
Everyone celebrated her birthday till late in the night but as they celebrated, he slipped outside returning home as he didn't feel like he belonged there. Domink thought he slipped away unnoticed, but she saw him leave. When the party ended and everyone left, she went searching for him but she didn't have to go far as he was in the long grass outside his house with Niamh and her cubs. Aurora watched as he played with the cubs wrestling with them as Niamh lay in the grass. The lion cubs rolled on and off of his chest ripping his shirt with their claws, yet he didn't seem to mind. She watched him as the night wind blew around her long flowing white dress and her long brown hair. While the night wind blew through the long grass and his hair making him in her eye's so stoic like a statue. As the wind blew all around it carrying her scent to him alerting Domink of her presence. She should have been worried, yet he just smiled.
“You can come out Aurora, I know your there.” Domink smiled as he played with the cubs.
Aurora startled that he knew she was there walked out of the shadows and into the moonlight. “How did you know.” she asked with her soft angelic voice.
“It was your scent.” he sighed as he looked up at her. As he looked at her Niamh moved in closer to him protecting Domink. “Don't worry I'm not mad Aurora and I'm sorry for leaving your party. But I just don't like crowds.”
“I've noticed that about you.” Aurora replied as she sat down beside him in the long grass. “I often wondered why you keep to yourself.” As she looked at him who turned from her gaze.
“I have my reasons, Aurora.” Domink spoke coldly as Niamh walked up to him placing her head upon his lap to reassure him that he was safe. “Sometimes I think that only Niamh knows who I really am.”
“What about your parents? Don’t you talk to them after all they gave you life.” Aurora asked not knowing the truth about his parentage.
“Mph.” Domink gave a slight laugh as he stroked Niamh. “I thought you knew.”
“Knew what?” she asked confused some what.
“That Leo and Hera are not my parents.” he spoke so nonchalant about it. This realization was enough to stun her as she always believed that they were his parents.
“But you call them mother and father.” she said stunned as she was and still trying to make sense of it.
“They are my mother and father since I was eleven years old. Actually, since the day of your birth.” he stated looking at her. “You see they are in fact my mother's parents. A long time ago my mother no longer wanted me because I did not think like her. It was regarding the prophecy which she saw him as evil, but I saw only a boy child who was being blamed for all of the immortal’s troubles and for starting the long war. After that she all but turned away from me through there were days that she treated me like her son again. They were far and few between. The only one who loved me any more was my father, Dorian.” he started to explain to her before she butted in.
“Dorian, One of the Circle of Eight.” Aurora asked.
“Yes, I don't know if your parents told you about Nightwalker bonds but my bond with my mother is gone and my bond with my father is still there. It is not as strong like a parents bond should be. I say this because I want you to know that my bond with my parents is strong and that I do tell them everything. As they see through the same way I do. Though I tell them everything neither of them nor you really know what it is like to be abandoned. That is why I always stand alone away from crowds. By being alone no one can hurt me ever again. It is lonely.” Domink sighed as Nianh stood up from his lap taking her cubs home to her pride. She could sense that Aurora never meant any harm to her Domink and that he was safe with her.
“I never knew, Domink. I'm sorry. In all the time we spent together you never said anything about your birth parents or your feelings of abandonment. Your right I don't know the pain you felt being abandoned. Since both of mine raised me but the way I see things your parents Leo and Hera I mean, love you unconditionally and that is something to treasure. I want you to know that you are not alone.” Aurora spoke softly as she moved her hand onto his. “I want to tell you something Domink, and please don't laugh but I love you. Even before we even spoke when I saw you training across the river. I see you for more than your appearance not that you aren't beautiful. You are it's just that I see you and I love you. Though I know it's forbidden I can't help but feel this way. I know it is right and true.” Aurora spoke from her heart never letting go of his hand. Yet Domink never pulled his hand back either.
