He woke up, excited. "Boy, would I?! I want a double scoop."

"Whoa, whoa. Chill, Ken. We're gonna spend a little time together. Everything's on me." Ashihiro showed him 200¥ he received as an allowance. (Kennedy doesn't get allowance yet.)

The two bolted downstairs for some breakfast. Their mother was msaking omurice,  one of Ashihiro's favourite dishes she makes.

"Pass the catsup please," Kennedy said in his cute voice. 

Ashihiro slid it to him. "Here you go. Try not to get any on your shirt this time."

Kenny squeezed some of the tangy, red sauce on his rice-filled omelette. The two started digging in their omurice.

Kennedy is an adoptee from South Africa. He is of Khoikhoi descent. His parents were killed in a racially-motivated attack, causing him to be in an orphanage in Soweto. He was mistreated there by the headmistress there. He also has a penchant for Pokémon, but his favourite is Arcanine.

 "Ashihiro? Can you buy me some Pokémon toys?"

"Maybe, maybre not," he smiled, eating his omurice. "You didn't waste any ketchup on your shirt. THat's a first. Usually, you'd eat like a hog."

"I'm getting a little bit better."

An hour later, Ashihiro and Kennedy were walking the streets of Sapporo. "For dinner, we can eat ramen."

"I love ramen!" Kenny started dancing a little. "Can we have mushrooms in it?"

"Sure. why not.? I know a place where you can get custom ramen noodles. You can have chashu, fried onion, cilantro, mushrooms, broccoli... How do you eat mushrooms? I can never like them."

"Maybe you're a texture eater..."

Ashihiro walked in The Pokémon Centre with his bro. "Pick 2 items from here," he told his black brother. Kennedy quickly picked up an Arcanine plush and a Charizard action figure and set it on the black counter.

A guy with stereotypical Japanese facial feautres scanned the toys. "Here's your bill, sir," he said in Japanese.

Ashihiro gave him the appropriate funds. "Here you go," he replied in the same language. He took the bag and walked out with his brother.

"Later, we can get lunch. Let's go the park for a bit. You can play on the playground while I text my girlfriend on a bench somewhere."

The two arrived at a park. There is a red playground for the kids. Kennedy bolted to the playground to go play with other kids, whereas Ashihiro started calling his girlfriend.

Ashihiro started out with, "Hi, Adara. I'm spending time with Kennedy. What are you doing?"

"Spending time with my dog." Adara handed her pinscher a dog biscuit and rubbed his belly. "He just neutered not too long ago. He was a handful before then!"

A gaggle of Japanese kids, 4 of them to be exact, confronted Kennedy. One of them barked, "Get off the playground, and we won't have to kick your black ass!"

Kennedy looked at them sideways. "Who do you think you're talking to?"

"You? No burrheads allowed!"

Ashihiro said, "So, we're going out for ramen and ice cream later."

"Oh, that's neat. I'm gonna order delivery. I kinda want a sandwich with ham, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato... Some dill pickle-flavoured chips." 

"Sounds..." Ashihiro heard some clammoring from the playground. "I'll call you back." He hung up and went to the area where Kennedy is, only to see him take on some Japanese kids alone.

Kennedy stopped fighting the kids who were messing with him. "They called me burrhead and threatened to beat me up!"

"You kids should be ashamed! We all bleed red, so let's just get along."

One of the Japanese kids said, "Okay... Sorry for being racist. Wanna play pirates, Kennedy?"

"Sure. And I forgive you guys. I'll be the parrot." And the kids started playing pirates. 

"I'm back, Adara. Kennedy was scrapping with some Japanese kids who were being racist. They made up once I broke up the fight."

"Well, it's a good thing they made up. Most kids woulda just continued beefing."

"True. We should go to Ramen Hut one day. I wanna show you the fried chicken there -- it's too die for!" Kuro texted back. "We're going there, then we'll go get ice cream. Just thought I'd spend time with Kennedy; never spent time with him much."
