Melissa gasped. The whole room was glorious. A small hole in the cave roof allowed moonlight to spill onto an underground lake. Small fairy orbs floated throught the room illuminating the room in a golden light. The water was crystal clear. At the bottom of the lake, small rocks came in all colors, reflecting rainbows back onto the walls. The room itself was far warmer than it should have been in late fall.
Melissa stared for a few minutes in utter awe. It reminded her of her old home. All the color, the lights, the unending warmth, all brought back memories of her first home. But here, she didn't have to worry about the constant threat of being banished. Her vilitigo was thought of as a curse in her tribe. She left on her own terms, hoping to find somewhere better. In a way, she did.
Right before she turned back to show the others, she noticed something. Something glimmered near the edge of the water, near a small opening on the far side of the cave. She watched for a second, before realizing it was gone. Maybe I just imagined it, she thought, before turning and heading out.

Dianne's mind raced, trying to untangle the minds of the newcomers. The fairy was here for obvious reasons; her skin condition. The chirop was supposed to be dead. The bandit group hunted them down a long time ago. She had said she wanted to because of her instinct, but Dianne knew there was more to it. What was she hiding, and how could Dianne figure out what she was up to?
As a child, Dianne was always told not to trust chirops. They were dangerous, everyone knew it. Her parents had taken part in the raid of the chirop camp, so they knew better than anyone. Dianne knew they were wrong, though. This one couldn't hurt a fly, even if she wanted to. But if the fairy was telling the truth, than the chirop had captured her. How could she have?
Suddenly, Dianne could hear the footsteps of the approaching fairy. The girl quickly halted when she saw them. Her eyes danced.
"I found the most amazing place. Follow me, I'll show you!" Melissa shouted to the others.
...
Aster's eyes darted up to the ecstatic girl, who was practically glowing in joy. Aster stood to follow her. Dianne stood from the chair she was in. She had a look on her face that worried Aster. They wished they could read Dianne as well as Dianne could read other people. While the others started to follow Melissa, Aster grabbed a lamp with an amethyst inside. They tapped their finger on the amethyst and it lit up. They quickly hurried after the others.
The tunnel was small, and became crowded quickly. Soon, they had to walk in a single file line.
Eventually, the tunnel came to a complete stop. Melissa gestured to a small gap before climbing through. Dianne wrinkled her nose before entering behind her. One after another, everyone soon followed. Aster could hear sounds of laughter and joy on the other side. They took a deep breath, and went in.
The inside was glamorous, and they watched in shock as minnows darted over colorful rocks at their feet.
But before they could take the whole cave in, something burst from the water, sending a huge splash of water at them. They fell, and felt a shooting pain in their head.
Deep in Winnow Woods, there is a cave of rogues who live in peace. However, when they develop a plot to overthrow the world capital, the common people must decide to help the rogues… or join the rebellion.
