One month later
I gulped nervously, palms sweating as I fidgeted with them on my lap.
The air was tense, so tense I could barely breathe.
The look on Ezyn’s face was enough to scare the living daylights out of me. This unnerving smile, those emotionless eyes -- was he the same person?
But he wasn’t the only one.
Detective Willis had changed too, acting reckless and careless. People were also calling him Amaryllis?
Across from them sat the head of the Sin Deckate, Robert Malighny. I was stunned to see the resemblance between him and Detective Willis.
Ezyn told me I didn’t need to do anything during the “negotiations,” but giving me my own chair to sit and watch them made me feel like a spectator rather than part of the group.
I’D RATHER STAY WITH KHLO THAN BE HERE.
