Kareena was ready to head out when Muskan unlocked the door and walked in. Seeing her, Kareena asked, "I just heard from Riya about what happened at the party today. I was on my way to see you. I'm sorry, I should have gone to the party with you."
Muskan, looking utterly exhausted, placed her bag on the sofa, dropped her car keys on the table, and sank into the sofa with her eyes closed. She seemed completely worn out.
“Muski?” She asked once again more adorably.
“I’m fine. I’m just tired, Kareena. I’m just tired.” In a very soft and weary voice, Muskan replied.
Like a true friend, Kareena sat down beside her on the sofa without asking any questions. She gently cradled Muskan's head and placed it on her lap, stroking her hair with a mother’s tender touch.
“Then just rest.” she whispered. “Don’t think about anything. Everything will be fine.”
Seeing such comfort, Muskan clutched Kareena’s knee tightly and, with her eyes closed, drifted off to sleep.
The next day was Sunday. For every office worker, Sunday is nothing short of a mini-vacation. On this day, people try to make up for the whole week's absence by spending quality time with their families.
Kareena and Muskan had a similar plan in mind. Both best friends decided to leave the events of the previous night behind and start fresh by preparing for a picnic. Today was going to be spent with Vishi, and this was their plan for the day:
First, they would go to Vishi's art competition venue to cheer her on. Then, they would spend the day at a picnic spot by the river, and finally, they would wrap the day with dinner in the evening.
Everything was ready—the picnic bag, some snacks, makeup essentials, and plenty of water. They were all set to leave. Muskan drove to the art competition venue, where Vishi had already arrived with her peers. The event was held at the privatized art gallery, 'Vista Muse'.
Vishi was talented enough to gain entry into this gallery, a dream for many art enthusiasts and aspirants. The reward for the winner was sponsorship from the gallery owner until the artist became well established in their career. This was exactly what Vishi aspired to. She had come to the city on her own through scholarships, striving to take the least amount of assistance from her parents, thereby lightening their burden, much like her sister Muskan.
"Di*!" Vishi waved at her sister from a distance. All three exchanged warm greetings and entered the gallery. According to the competition guidelines, only one supporter per candidate was allowed inside. Muskan accompanied Vishi, while Kareena joined Vishi's friend's side since there was no one there for her.
"Come on! Can't I get just one Sunday off?" Jay whined, his voice muffled by the pillow as Ted dragged him out of bed. "No, you can't. Because of the ruckus you caused yesterday. Time to do penance," Ted grunted as he pulled Jay away from his blanket. "I don't wanna go, Ted!" "But you have to go!"Ted insisted, their tug-of-war escalating both verbally and physically as they struggled to make each other understand.
"You love art, right? It'll be fun. It's a competition. You'll enjoy it. Stop being a baby and get out of bed," Ted tried every possible argument to persuade Jay to attend the art competition being held at his mother's gallery.
