"WHO'S THERE!? DON'T TOUCH ME YOU CREEP!!!" Daniel screeched.

"Woah, woah, woah! It's me, Dusty. And I'm not a creep!" Dusty replied, "Can you not see me or something?"

"No, sorry I called you a creep." Daniel whimpered.

"Now," Dusty said sternly after giving Daniel a hug, "Who dared to hurt you?"

Daniel burst into tears, "My m-m-m-mother d-did i-it t-t-to m-m-m-me!" Daniel wailed.

Dusty was about to go knock Daniels mother back into her senses when he looked at Daniel's fragile body shaking and shivering on the floor curled up into a ball and decided Daniel was more important than any opportunity to punch Daniels mother square in the face.

"I failed to protect you...." Dusty broke down on the floor and pulled Daniel close and rocked him gently and shushed him to sleep. Dusty, when Daniel was fast asleep, picked him up and took him to Dusty's house. And Dusty set him down on his bed and lay down next to his boyfriend and cuddled him tightly.

"I'm going to find a way out of this place for the both of us." Dusty whispered in Daniel's ear.

Daniel groaned sleepily and Dusty chuckled lightly and kissed Daniel on the head, Dusty got a grumble in return and a giggle. The next day, Dusty went and got Daniels things from his mother's house while shouting at her and bringing Noelle to Daniel after getting his things. For the following weeks, Dusty and Daniel didn't go to the university. Noelle visited often and helped out around the house. One night, Daniel asked Dusty if he lived with his parents and Dusty said they had died a couple of years ago. They sat in silence for a while, listening to the silence and the moon. That night, they slept so peacefully it looked so sweet. Daniel dreamt that he could see again and wished that it was true.
