Rain Splashes on top of Jay’s umbrella as he leans against a brick wall in some back alley of the Downtown Cell. In his hand is a lit cigarette that he takes a puff out of. With the cigarette in the corner of his mouth, he glances at the watch on his wrist. 2:34 am. Soon enough another figure appears in the alleyway with Jay. Jay throws down the cigarette into a puddle beneath him and twists his foot into it.

“1.”

The man in front of Jay stops and reaches into his own coat. The man has a folder in his hand that he gestures towards Jay. The hand of the mysterious man is riddled with markings that resemble strings. Looking more closely the hand and arm looks completely fake, almost as if it was made from something like a wood material. Jay reaches out for the documents and snatches it from the man and stuffs it into his inner coat.

“It's getting worse there. He’s ramped up production on his dolls. More info in the reports.”

The man continues walking down the alleyway without another word. Jay starts walking the other direction away from the man. Soon enough Jay enters the main streets of the Downtown Cell. Somehow the City is more lively during the night than the day. The neon signs all above the street glow a warm hue. Jay continues to walk down the main street, passing by the busy lives of others. Protestors always roam the street even at night, yet most of them are busy getting drunk and forgetting about their message. Those that are drunk know how truly the world is gone and that their ramblings won't do anything to change that fact. They simply enjoy the time they have left. Soon enough Jay stops at a small food stand on the side of the street and takes a seat at the makeshift stall. The woman next to Jay lifts her head up from her bowl and glances at Jay. The gold hair makes it easy for Jay to tell who this person was.

“Riley.”

“Did you get the info from 1?”

Riley was straight to business with Jay with no greetings.

“Just got the doc from him, Will look over it soon.”

“Good, The Clocktower will like a report on that info in the coming days. I expect th-”

Riley was grabbed by the shoulder of some drunk passersby.

“The world is gonna end lady! How about we enjoy some of our last time together and-”

“A tall man in a suit grabbed the drunkard and dragged them away from Riley before staring them down. The drunkard was stunned for a moment and sized the man up and down before noticing the tall man’s suit. It was a Mooncell Uniform, but not the normal one. It was one made for combat. It's hard to notice it at first because it looks just like any other suit, but once you have lived in this city long enough, you start to know the little details that stick out. Their unique badges on the uniform is also a dead give away to anyone on the street. Lately you see these men on the streets every day and night. The man freezes before running away from the tall man. Riley dusts her shoulder off and looks back at Jay.

“As I was saying, I expect the report to be ready by tomorrow night so we can present it to the Clocktower the day after.”

“I understand. I will get it done by then.”

“Good.”

Riley pushes her empty bowl towards the chef and leaves a generous tip for the owner before standing up from the stall. Riley starts to walk away from the stall and her guard soon follows until they disappear in some parking garage. The televisions in the store behind the stall blare into the open night. Jay listens to the tv for a moment while he watches from the food stall.

“Once again, with the investigation of the murders from last week still in progress, all trains in the Downtown District will stop running at exactly 3 am and be down for 3 hours till 6 am. We apologize for any inconveniences.”

“Damn, I just missed them. Now I can't get home.”

Jay stands up from the stall and starts to rummage through his pockets. Soon enough he found what he was looking for. He pulls out a key ring with a few keys on its loop.

“Jun’s place is nearby, I guess I will crash there tonight. Hopefully she doesn't mind.”

Jay starts to walk at a brisk pace through the streets. He cuts through shady alleys left and right. The rain still falling from the sky makes every step of his audible from the puddles he steps in. After a short walk, Jay ends up in front of an apartment complex. Jay takes his umbrella and collapses it. Like he's done this a million times before, Jay enters a code in the door panel and unlocks the security door. He takes the handle and swings it open for himself and proceeds to the stairs inside. After walking up three floors he finally reaches the apartment he was looking for. He fishes for the keyring in his pocket once again and finds the right key to unlock the door. With a simple twist, Jay lets himself into the apartment.

Jay gently closes the door to not make much noise. His shoes slide off his feet along with his umbrella that he places next to the front door. Next his jacket came off that he placed on the coat hanger. He soon enters the main room of the apartment. It's small but cozy. Everything is basically in one big room along with the kitchen, which is where Jay instinctively heads towards. He opens the fridge to see a small container with a note on it. Jay slides his hand over the note to read it and all it says is “Jay”. He wraps his hand on the edge of the container and pulls it out before placing it on the counter and opening it. Somehow Jay is not surprised that there was food waiting for him here. Jun usually takes leftovers from her cafe and brings them home with her. If Jay was there it was always for him, if he wasn't then she either eats it the next day or gifts Jay the food the next day. Today's menu is curry and rice. Jay didn't mind it and soon started to heat it up. While he's doing this, he takes a look around the apartment.

Jun lays fast asleep on her couch with the tv at a dull roar, just loud enough that Jay can make out what is happening in this random show. Soon enough Jay’s food was ready and he took it over to the couch where Jun was laying. Along the way he glances at the wall where many photos are hung of Jun, Himself, and Teruko. There’s enough room on the couch that Jay can rest next to a laying Jun. He finds the remote to the tv and switches to a news channel and starts to dig into his dinner. The news station was on a commercial break and Jay had to sit through the annoying ads.

“Earth was the start of humanity but the stars and beyond are the future! If you want to be a part of the future of humanity then become a part of the Mooncell Corporation! Be one of the first to colonize the Moon! Reserve your spot today!”

Soon enough the ad ends and the news comes back. Jay continues to snack on his curry.

“Even more people have gone missing in multiple cells these past few days and only a handful of people have turned up dead in mysterious circumstances. The decomposing bodies were always found looking as if they were completely dried and bodily fluids were completely gone. Along with the disappearances, people have claimed to have more sightings of  suspicious people moving around after dark in the back alleys of some cells. Please if you see or have any information regarding these strange sightings, relay the information to the F.A.M.O Corporation or your local F.A.M.O divisions. Remember everyone, For All Must Obey: F.A.M.O. Now for the upcoming week’s forecast.

A pair of hands covers Jay’s eyes , movement that he saw coming a mile away but decided to play along with it.

“Well look who decided to finally stop by again! You know I've been lonely without you.”

Jay grabs the hands covering his eyes and Jun returns them to her side. Jay turns his head to look at Jun that is now sitting up covering herself with the blanket she slept with.

“The trains were down for the night and I was just around the block and needed a place to stay. Plus I wanted my free dinner.” Jay chuckles at his sentence.

“You should stop by more often, I get bored often, especially after work at the cafe.” Jun punches Jay’s arm softly before leaning herself against Jay’s shoulder

“Are you scared of what's been going on?” Jay places his leftovers on the coffee  table in front of him before taking a side of Jun’s blanket and covering himself along with Jun. Jun stops and thinks for a moment before answering Jay’s question.

“A little, I just feel a lot better when you are here.”

“I see.”

Jay thinks to himself for a moment. He glances towards the girl resting on his shoulder before moving his hand to brush her hair.

“I’ll stop by more often then, how about that?”

Jun’s arms wrap around Jay’s one arm underneath the blanket and he can feel her squeeze tightly.

“I’d like that a lot.”

“So that means more free food right?”

Jun giggles softly. “Of course it does! Gotta feed my guest right?”

Jay grabs the remote again and changes the channel to some random show and both of them tune into the scene in front of them. Both of them slowly drift to sleep on the couch together.
