Whispers Of The Forgotten

CHAPTER 5: THE PROPHECIES

CHAPTER 5: THE PROPHECIES

Jun 17, 2024

As Ryan and James had finally reached the base of Serra da Estrela, they’re exhausted from the long journey, because they had barely taken any breaks. James parks the car and leans back in the driver’s seat after taking out the key from the contact. He groans as he rubs his hands over his face. “Holy fuck, that took ages, it feels like we’ve been on the road for months…”
Ryan stretches his body a bit, feeling tired as hell too, despite his powers. “I told you we needed more breaks man…” James rolls his eyes at Ryan’s comment, but faintly nods. “Hey, I thought we could handle it, okay?”

After a few minutes of resting, they stumble out the car, James makes sure to lock it as he closes the door. They look over to the mountain, before they both simultaneously realize that they haven’t properly thought out what to do. Ryan speaks up: “So uhm… We’re here, now what?” James rubs his fingers over his chin in thought. “Let’s just look for anything that seems out of place (Except for the obviously missing peak of the mountain) and see what we can find, maybe we can find more of the prophecies, or some kind of manual for your powers, but most importantly; an explanation on why The Creator seems so evil in the prophecy we found in Japan.”

Ryan nods in agreement. They get to walking closer to the base, keeping their eyes out for anything strange or out of place, that could give them a hint. After about an hour of walking, James notices a circular pattern lighting up in green against the mountain wall and a faint hum coming from it, specifically when Ryan walks past it. “Ryan, something showed up, get closer to that area!” Ryan now notices too and gets closer to the area, their eyes widen as the green glow becomes brighter and the hum gets louder, before the stone inside the pattern seemingly folds in on itself, revealing a passage into a hallway.

James and Ryan stare back at each other in awe as the seemingly locked mountain wall now wide open, James was the first to speak up. “What. The Fuck. Was that.” Ryan hurriedly speaks back still in shock. “I think the Mountain recognizes… Me? ” James and Ryan cautiously enter the mountain, The inside of the mountain looks to be worn out, like it was uncovered for many years. The walls and rocks full of dust, A yellowish tint to them. Ryan splits off from James and wanders off to explore the mountain even further, finding some carved writings on some of the wall that he yet can’t read. James spots some other carvings which looks like paintings, yet he investigates and calls Ryan over to check it out with him.

Ryan hurries over to James curious to what he found, Ryan speaks up in a curious tone. “So what did you find? Something worth looking over?” James quickly asks back “Looks like it, what do you think? They are different too. They look like paintings instead of just pure text, which he obviously can’t decrypt” Ryan raises an eyebrow and says back with an even more confused tone “Don’t you have that book from the Wanderer guy back in Japan?" James replied back with an awkward tone while scratching the back of his head letting out a weak chuckle “About that, I tossed it like it was nothing… Look! I thought it wouldn’t be much of use okay!?”

Ryan now rubbing his temple’s in frustration doesn’t answer back and goes in front of James for a better look at the carved “Paintings”. Ryan solemnly touches the Carvings, his hand now glowing a bit of a stronger green. Somehow his touch decrypts some of the text near the “Paintings” Now being able to read most of them, James now rubbing his chin asks “How’d you do that Thing again? with your hands and stuff…” Ryan ignoring what James said, still trying to get his hand off the Carvings “Get… Off!” Ryan finally managed to “Unstick” his hand from the Carvings. The carvings seemed to take his glow on his right hand, seemly spreading it around the other carvings. Kind of like, it was alive and moving. After the Carvings were done “eating” Ryan’s glow, The text on the carvings where now Readable. Ryan says weakly “Why did it take my glow away?” James replied back, as he’s still somewhat shocked. “It looks like it needs your Power as a source for us to read it, Maybe you are useful after all.” James jokes, trying to lift the mood by a little. James sweeps a bit of the dust away from the carvings “Whoa… are these… prophecies?” Ryan weakly says back “Seems Like it, let’s see what they are… Maybe they’re relevant information?” James then decides to read the so called Prophecies out loud.

Prophecy #1: The Creator creates multiple universes and Existence itself, including two realms for the after life, Nirvana and The Abyss, among with a elite rank of angels called the Nirvana Five to assist him and monitor the multiple humanities across the universes. The main stabilization-piece and core is The Nexus. An opposing force against The Creator named the Anti appears somewhere in the dark corner of Existence.

Prophecy #2: There is a traitor amongst the Nirvana Five's ranks; Aganos, the overseer of 'The Abyss'. He attempted to recruit the overseeing angels in different universe through manipulation and threats so they'd aid him, destroying those who opposed him, along with their universes. Aganos lost the war and was isolated inside 'The Abyss', becoming it's prisoner.

Prophecy #3: After the Ancient War, The Creators real greed has begun, thus he made multiple stars, which he contained inside Nirvana, with a green one that had the strongest background due to being an anomaly. The Creator intends to consume these contained stars to increase his power, he is rather unaware where the Green star had suddenly vanished.

Prophecy #4: As The Creator's paranoia for being overthrown grows, a greed starts to grow within him for even more power to prevent this, he creates even more stars of different colors to satisfy his own hunger for power and he slowly starts to consume other universes to properly still his greedy hunger. One star of green color is an anomaly and somehow ends up getting out of Nirvana.

Prophecy #5: A young man is destined to touch The Star, which was lost, absorbing it’s powers. He shall master it one day, gaining enough power to battle against the power-hungry Creator of our universe and restore balance, before He can tear apart the universe with his search of greed, setting the stage for a Great Final Battle. Everything in the battle seems to point to his inevitable demise, due to a stab wound against Thee Immorality Sword.

James finished reading and looked at Ryan in pure shock, Ryan stares back his glow returning finally returning to his right arm. After a long silence James speaks up, in a somewhat whisper “The Creator is a… horrible being, I can’t believe I trusted in him. With my life too! Wow. I mean what an emotional rollercoaster ride huh?” Ryan grunting a little while clutching his arm roughly speaks “Yeah most definitely, Take a picture or something. This is important stuff, trust me James. I might not be in the best condition to think straight but the mountain door, these prophecies, The carving’s. They all click together James." James immediately understood and took his phone out, snapped all the pictures he could of the carvings, for information purposes.

After they left the mountain James decided to sit down on a nearby rock to make future plans for the road “Before we try and decrypt the rest, What until then?” Ryan sits opposite to James on another rock, his foot tapping the Rocky floor “I’m guessing we try to summarize the prophecies?” James nods and pulls his phone back out looking at the photos of the prophecies “Quick summary time then. First one, I already know most of this since I myself am a “believer”. Second one, I heard about this while reading about it but I never knew the war was this bad. Third one, Holy crap! Dude the star you absorbed was made by The Creator! man It was apparently an Anomaly? Fourth one, apparently The Creator gets so greedy so he kept making more and more stars to fulfill his hunger, Huh where did this greed even come from? Fifth one, Dude the prophecy is about you! Holy shit! Catch this. A young man is destined to touch The Star. Dude! that’s so awesome- wait… Get this Everything in the battle seems to point to his inevitable demise. It’s saying your going to. Die?

Ryan avoids eye contact with James trying to figure out, how so. James suddenly stands up walking back and forth while looking at his phone “This can’t be, no way!” Ryan in a yet honorable tone replies back “James, Just because it’s written. doesn’t mean it has to happen" James stops dead in his tracks looking at Ryan, with his fear now replaced with confidence “Exactly, You know what. I’ve had enough of this Prophecy Bullshit. Let’s go eat downtown- Or actually let’s go back to my hometown! The food there is to die for, no pun intended" Ryan stands up with his new found confidence as James playfully slaps him on the back. They then head back to the Car, get in and head back to Spain, Estepona. James's cozy home town.

As they kept driving to James’s home town, The car suddenly broke down. James gets out to investigate the problem “Old piece of shit, can’t even run straight anymore!” Ryan also gets out resting his arms on the car door “Man, we took this Old piece of shit across the World, no wonder it broke down on us. Let’s see what’s the big problem” James and Ryan both rub their temples as they open the car hood, sadly the engine was busted. Emitting smoke just from them opening the hood. Ryan speaks up while coughing “Well… We can’t save this poor thing. Better start walking-” James interrupted Ryan with a stern tone “I am NOT walking back to Spain, let’s hitchhike or something. It’s better then mindlessly walking” As James and Ryan stick up their thumbs to hitchhike, A country bus shows up.

Opening it's doors for them two, As the door’s open an aged man with missing teeth and a worn out truck hat speaks at them in a demanding tone “Y’all got money?” James raised an eyebrow and replied back “Yeah I guess I do, how much for a ticket?” The Bus driver smirked with his broken smile “That’ll be 20 bucks sweetheart, For one person though. Y’all ain’t off the hook that easily" Ryan then nudges James to pay, James sighs but eventually and pays the bus driver the 40 Euro’s as they get in. James speaks up in a annoyed tone “Keep the change.” The bus driver raises his eyebrows in surprise “Wow, thank you, you kind soul- Wait… What fucking change!?!” James and Ryan didn’t hear the bus driver as they have already sat down, James Sighs of relief. Ryan questions as he sits down “Why did we take a Bus?” James shakes his head and answers back “It’s not a ordinary bus. It’s a country bus, Takes you to a neighboring country. In this case it’s going to be Spain” Ryan nods and settles down in his seat.

After a long and crucial Six hour drive they have finally arrived back in Spain. Thankfully near Estepona. They leave but not without a nice goodbye “See you later buddy!” James says smiling without a thought. The bus driver mutters under his breath “Keep the change Motherfucker.” Ryan walks behind James not saying anything only giving him a quick wave. The bus driver’s only grunts at him muttering under his breath yet again “Radioactive Son of a bitch” James and Ryan finally get out of the Country bus as it speeds off. James says while rubbing his back “What a nice guy.” James and Ryan walk slowly to his home town as its walking distance, After another half an hour or so. They proudly stand in front of James’s old house, Ryan says in a surprised tone “What a beautiful house, I expected a lot less. But hey you always find a way to prove me wrong.” James nudges Ryan as he chuckles and opens the door, As the door opens slowly it emitted a white glow. But it turned out the house was fully trashed. James stays silent and throws a Chair across the room “Fuck!”
