Li Yun walked without hesitation, his police uniform crisp and authoritative. As the team captain, he led a group of officers—Kim Jae-In, Kim Woojin, Si Xing, and Su Mingji—toward the scene. The school courtyard buzzed with students and teachers, their faces etched with shock and fear.

“Captain, I heard the principal called us urgently,” Su Mingji said, his expression grave.

Li Yun nodded. “Seems like someone has taken their own life.”

Kim Jae-In furrowed his brow as they approached the crowd. “Captain, I’ll clear the students away.”

Li Yun agreed. “Good. And Su Mingji, find Lisa or Ayesha.”

The two doctors, Lisa and Ayesha, can help a lot in this situation. Now, in this supernatural realm, they were invaluable for examining the deceased.

An elderly man rushed toward Li Yun, panic etched on his face. “Sir, thank God you came. We don’t know how this happened…”

Li Yun cut him off. “Let us see.”

Kim Jae-In and Kim Woojin swiftly cleared a path, keeping curious onlookers at bay. Li Yun’s gaze settled on the girl lying on the ground, blood pooling around her head. Si Xing, the team’s photographer, leaned in.

“Fell to her death,” Si Xing reported.

Li Yun glanced up at the school building—a five-story structure. Death was inevitable from such a fall. But was it truly suicide?

“Captain, should I check the body?” Si Xing asked, gesturing to his camera.

Li Yun nodded, scanning the surroundings. “Who found the body first?”

A hesitant student stepped forward. “Uncle Police, it was me.”

Li Yun approached the girl, offering a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. Just tell us what you know.”

The girl blushed, momentarily distracted by the handsome police officer. “I came back from the teacher’s office, heard a loud noise, and went to see. Then, I saw Rin Aina…”

Her voice trailed off, eyes welling with tears.

Li Yun turned to Kim Woojin. “Brother Kim, please make notes.”

Kim Woojin pulled out a small notepad, jotting down the victim’s name. As they waited for Lisa or Ayesha, Li Yun wondered: Was this truly a suicide, or was something more sinister at play? The mystery deepened, and the clock was ticking—three days to solve the case, no room for error.

Kim Woojin took out a small notepad and wrote the name of the victim.

They saw Lin Xinyue coming out of the teacher's building with Xie Zhili.

"Hello, Sir, I am a Physics teacher."

Li Yun shook hands with both of them and asked some questions.

"Did she attend classes today?"

Lin Xinyue sighed and shook his head.

"Today, She didn't come to first class but she attended Teacher Xie's class."

Xie Zhili nodded and shook his hand too. They acted as if they didn't know each other.

Xie Zhili glanced at the dead body. He hissed and lowered his eyes, it was the first for him to seen such a tragic scene.

"Yes, she attended the class at noon and it seems that she was distracted and didn't focus."

Kim Woojin wrote it down and then looked at Su Mingji coming with Ayesha who was wearing a hijab and a hospital mask on her face.

"I am the doctor of the school."

Li Yun nodded.

"Sorry for the trouble, Our forensic team is on another site and cannot come. Please help us with the autopsy."

Ayesha nodded and walked towards the girl. She frowned and searched the girls body and found a note in her skirt pocket.

"Sir, This..."

Frowning, Li Yun picked it up with a napkin.

"A Suicide note?"

Kim Woojin suddenly looked at the student who was a classmate of this girl.

"Can you please give us the notebook of this student?"

The class leader nodded and quickly ran back to the school building.

While Li Yun and Si Xing looked at the note...

[I can't take the pressure off this school. It is too hard to study. Anyway, I am an orphan and can't afford the fees so dying is better for me.]

Li Yun looked at the Principal, The oldman, "Provide us with an available room. We will conduct our investigation there.

Li Yun glanced at the two students...Alex and Lisa??

Lisa nodded at him without anyone noticing.

"I will tell the results to Sir... in a moment."

Ayesha said without showing emotions, it was like she was used to these scenes.

Li Yun took Kim Jae-In to the upstairs.

"This doesn't seem more than suicide, Right Li Yun?"

Li Yun shook his head.

"What appears in front mustn't that be the right or real way."

Kim Jae-In sighed.

"It's only Floor 2 and the difficulty is already medium.."

They saw footprints on the rooftop, there were many footprints, the rooftop is not made with cement or marble but has loose soil.

"Principal said that the rooftop was under construction so students were not allowed."

-

In the afternoon, Li Yun saw a clear written report by Kim Woojin.

Victim Details

  • Name: Rin Aina
  • Age: 17
  • Occupation: High School Student
  • Date of Death: June 15, XXXX
  • Time of Death: Estimated between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM
  • Location: Found at the bottom of the school's building

Cause of Death

  • Initial Appearance: Suicide by jumping from the school building

  • Autopsy Report:
    • Time of Death: Between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM
    • Cause of Death: Blunt force trauma to the head and torso consistent with a fall from a great height
    • Additional Findings:
      • Defensive Wounds: Bruises on forearms and hands, indicating a struggle
      • Ligature Marks: Faint marks around the wrists, suggesting she was tied up at some point
      • Toxicology Report: Traces of a sedative in her bloodstream, not enough to be lethal but enough to impair her ability to resist

Li Yun frowned and looked at Ayesha.

"She was given drugs?"

Ayesha nodded and pointed at another line.

"See this, She was also tied too."

Kim Woojin raised his head.

"Was she tortured?"

While Si Xing sighed.

"Domestic abuse, She had bruises too."

Li Yun shook his head.

"I collected some data from Principal, She is an orphan. Anyhow, Doctor Ayesha, You helped us a lot. We will call you if needed."

Ayesha nodded and left the room.

Kim Woojin looked at the pictures taken by Si Xing and said.

"The bruises look like a blunt weapon like a metal rod?"

Weapon

  • Primary Weapon: None directly involved in the cause of death
  • Secondary Weapon: Evidence of a struggle suggests physical assault, likely involving a blunt object (bruise patterns indicate possible use of a metal rod or similar object)

So the additional information was included in the prepared report.

"So how to solve the case?"

Kim Woojin looked at Li Yun.

"Of course by looking for the clues."

Li Yun added, "We already have two clues at hand, the Suicide note found on the victim's body, and the footprints on the rooftop."

Looking at the two clues and their pictures, Si Xing suddenly said.

"Let's go and look for the camera footage."

Kim Jae-In remembered.

"Yes, There was a camera at the entrance of the rooftop stairs."

While Kim Woojin said.

"The children these days have cell phones, I didn't see Rin Aina's cell phone near her."

Li Yun nodded.

"Then let's divide into two teams, Si Xing and Brother Jae-In will go and see the footage. While Brother Kim and I will go and search the cell phone and ask the classmates."

So the team divided.
