"Wake up!"
"Kaya, open your eyes!"
What's happening? Am I dead?
My mind felt foggy. For a moment, I couldn't tell whether I was dead or alive. I did feel this pain and burning in my chest till something huge slammed me so hard into my chest I felt it come up and out my throat and my mouth. I coughed, spitting out all that water and coughing again. I was alive.
"Hey..." was that voice again, but I still couldn't tell who it was. There was water in my ears, but it did sound like this person knew me.
Warm hands held my cheeks, and at that moment, I felt warmth all over my cheeks. I then tilted my head up and saw his face.
Wolf...
"Breath, okay?" He pulled me to his chest, and he picked me up. My limbs were still feeling numb, and my back and head were hurting a lot. "Holy shit, you're cold! I'll take care of you. First, let's get you out of here!"
Wolfe took me back to his cabin. He was in a hurry and got there quickly. He set me down on his bed, tore off my clothes, and covered me in something dry. He lit a fire to warm me up before he dried my hair and helped get the water out of my ears.
He didn't utter a word, and I was sitting there feeling numb. At that moment, the shock hit me, and the realization of my best friend betraying me. It was like being hit by a train, and the pain just hit me inside so hard I began to cry very loudly.
"Hey... What happened to you?" He asked and hugged me again. I threw my arms around him and buried my face into his naked chest, just wanting to cry in his arms. He tensed up.
I didn't know how he found me, but I felt terrible for putting him in this situation. My best friend tried to kill me, and a massive part of me wanted this nightmare to end.
I was a sobbing mess the entire time and sobbed myself to sleep.

By the time I woke up, I was all dried up, curled up in a ball, and lying under some sheets. I felt really warm and cozy, so warm that I didn't want to get up soon. It felt way too comfortable.
At that time, I was processing everything again, but this time, I handled the pain a lot better. I still didn't know how Wolfe found me, so I figured I must've landed in the river stream, and then he saw me.
I'm curious if he's here.
Eventually, I heard the sound of wood snapping and knew he was outside chopping wood. I pulled down the covers, sat up to look out the window again, and stared at the alpha. I didn't miss the part where he saved me, and I felt butterflies.
He looked at me, and I blushed. Just like the first time, I quickly laid back down, and he stormed into the room as soon as he could get there.
"Kaya?" He said my name, and my cheeks heated up. "How are you feeling?"
"Eh..." I was speechless.
He came closer and touched my forehead to check if I felt any fever. He even pulled up the sheets to wrap me in them again, and then he knelt down. "You need to rest," he said.
"I'm okay. I feel better now," I assured him, pulling up the covers, wanting to hide my face right now. And thank you..."
"Don't mention it, Pup." He patted my cheek, and then he walked to his kitchen. "You also need to eat. I'll make you something quick. Just call if you need anything. There's a glass of water standing there for you, too."
I turned and looked beside the bed, where there was a glass of water. Frankly, I didn't want to be reminded of how I drowned a couple of hours ago, so I immediately turned my head away.
"I'll eat something," I said and looked at him.
The entire time, I watched Wolfe move around in the kitchen. He wore another pair of denim shorts that showed off his well-hung package. I still remember the night he shoved that inside me.
His scent and presence were calming, and I felt very safe around him. After cooking, he came to me and sat beside me on the bed.
"Here, eat up. You'll need your strength," he said and placed the silver tray on my lap. In the meantime, I'll be outside making more wood for the fire. When I'm done, I want you to tell me what exactly happened, okay?"
"Eh..." I looked down as if I didn't want another awful reminder of what happened. The wounds were still raw. "I don't want to talk about it."
He sighed. "Fine. I'll be right outside. Make yourself comfortable, and again, let me know when you need something, Pup." He patted my shoulder and walked out the front door again.
I grabbed the spoon and calmly began eating. I cleared my throat as my swallowing still felt sore, but I loved food and would never skip a day without food.
The day went by quickly, and Wolfe came back carrying loads of wood. The way his large body moved was majestic. He took heavy steps, and his muscles rippled and flexed from the simplest actions, like lifting a wooden piece and using his bare hands to snap a log into two.
The place became nice and warm before he turned on the light and closed his curtains. His pheromones were still all over the place, so I could tell he was still having his rut and suppressing it somehow.
"How did you find me?" I asked him, also wanting to kill the silence.
He paused, looked at me, and then went to the cabinet, pulling out a bottle. "I went fishing and found you lying by the river banks."
So what he said confirmed that somebody had pulled me out of the water somewhere. I sighed and ruffled my hair.
"Are you still not going to tell me what happened?" He looked at me.
I shifted my gaze to look at him, then shook my head. "No..."
He growled and drank whatever was in the bottle, but it looked empty. Frustratedly, he slammed it on the table and then turned his crimson orbs to me. "Are you sure you don't want to tell me?"
"I told you I didn't want to talk about it..."
"I'm not having it!" He growled again and came towards me. "It's either you talk or..."
"Or what?"
"I'll make you..."
I looked into his eyes, which now shifted into crimson. Some demihumans could still make their eyes change color like how werewolves in the past used to. He had the eyes of a true alpha, a predator, and his pheromones were spiraling everywhere.
"Then make me..." I said, and at that moment, he grabbed my neck before slamming his lips against mine.
