This morning, my dad woke me at 6 a.m. I wasn’t used to it. At my old school, I would wake up at 8 a.m. I looked weird when I saw my reflection in the mirror. And what’s troubling is that I now must wear tight severe school uniforms. Yeah, that’s how it is. Not like I can have a rebellion for that. I tied my hair in a ponytail, not in the mood to have anything so special today. The outfit is not boring, at least. I must wear a white polo shirt, with a blue and black tie. With that, a blue and black skirt... There are a few accessories with the college’s colours, but no.
Nora, you’re going to be late for school...Quit that makeup job, everyone’s liking you naturally...
I sigh since that isn’t the real reason why I’m taking so much time; it’s boring. I go downstairs, and I quickly head to the car. My father waits patiently, yet impatiently, as I enter the car. The road to my new college is short, yet boring. Time flew fast, so, time skip when I am in my new class...
Everyone, please be respectful, we have a new student here today. Here she is. Why don’t you introduce yourself? Asks th teacher
...Hi, my name is Nora, I am 15, I got transferred here for some reason.
And what are those reasons? Says a voice in the back
I’d prefer not to talk about that. I respond firmly
But why did you even come with the idea of the reason at the first pla-
Okay, Romy, that’s enough. Let Nora feel welcomed, so please remain respectful. You may sit down next to Jules, Nora...
I nod and sit next to Jules, glancing over at Romy from time to time. I pull out my pencils and my books as class starts.
So, you’re Nora, right? Jules.
Jules smirks. I quickly noticed his sporty looks. Brown hair, blue eyes. He obviously doesn’t wear a skirt, but shorts...
...Nice to meet you, Jules.
My pleasure. Anyways, how are you?
Honestly? Bad.
Jules remains silent, a look of concern in his eyes.
No want to talk about it. I see. Well, want to be friends? He asks
Alright, I guess I can try it.... I say silently
Jules chuckles and smirks as we both look back at the lesson. The class is quick and easy. Nothing is easier than a boring course when nothing’s new. After class, Jules and a few mote girls walk up to me.
Hey, Nora. Whatcha doing?
I raised an eyebrow, confused by his request. I mean, it’s not like I’m busy or anything. I’m breathing.
Nothing. How about you? I respond
Jules shrugs and points to the girls next to him.
They wanted to talk to you. The names? Riley, Ann-Marie, and Stephany...
And... who’s who?
A red-haired girl, way taller than me, with green eyes, stares at me with surprise.
Nora....I’m Riley....Remember me?
Nope, sorry. Well, nice to meet you, Riley.
Those that seem to be Ann-Marie and Stephany walk up to me as well. A black-haired girl with asian traits smirks as she looks up at me.
Stephany. Guess you’re Nora.
Yeah, everybody knows about me now...
Finally, the one that looks to be Ann-Marie speaks up. She looks like a literal doll. Blue eyes, Venetian hair, mascara, and bright red lipstick. Her hair is tied up in a long bread, while about 10 necklaces cover her wrist. She doesn’t look so impressive, since she’s shorter than me...
Nora, Nora, Nora...You know Avery Hawthorne, right? Is she your bestie?
I froze, hearing Avery’s name. I snap out as fast as I can, looking back at Ann-Marie.
Hmh, I know her, and yeah, she is...Do you know her?
Well, well well...I do. Sweetheart, if she’s been sad these times it’s because of me. She says
Why’s that? Were you bullying her or something? I ask anxiously
Ann-Marie smirks and chuckles as she tucks some bangs behind her ear.
Nope. You’ll have to figure it out by yourself. Not going to tell you what my secret is... PEAKABOO! You’ll have to grow up from that mama of yours that died, Nora Jones...
I freeze at her cold and teasing attitude, as I watch her, and the three others leave. I can’t believe she was the whole reason Avery was sad. A lot of questions are here: Why do they know each other? What did Ann-Marie do to her? And...why?
