As Leo calmed his nerves at the blacksmith's forge, Kittienia enjoyed her day in the city with her panther, Kwitwaka, at her side in the trade distract. As Kittienia walked down the roads of the town leaning forward and with her arms behind her back and her tail swaying in the air with excitement, she heard the blustering city we were in, the sound of the people arguing about the prices, but ignoring them and enjoying her day. The smells of meat, fish, and other juicy meals filled her nostrils with delight, making her stomach growl and her mouth water. The city was wild, almost like she was in the forest, but with stone and filled with people instead of animals and greenery. No one bugged her, only for one reason: a panther followed her.
Amid the busy city, one person caught her attention. This individual had a noticeable lisp in their speech as they confidently declared, "Come on over, darlings! I'm here to serve all of you. Don't be scared by the prices of my fabulous items!" kittienia couldn't tear her eyes away from this fascinating character.
The gentleman bared his chest, revealing a well-toned and muscular physique, highlighting his darkened skin tone. He sported a vest jacket with white sleeves that reached his wrists. His head was adorned with a merchant hat resembling a straw hat, adorned with delicate pink laces and ribbons. Clad in snug brown pants and donning sandals, his wrists were adorned with noticeable bracers. His eyes were warm brown, while his beard and hair were impeccably groomed.
The man notices Kittienia and expresses concern about her appearance. He sympathetically remarks, "Oh honey, it looks like you might be without a fabulous abode judging by your ensemble, darling." Kittienia raises an eyebrow in response and confidently asserts, "I actually have a home; I am a member of the Tribal Folk." She gazes at him with a firm yet kind expression and adds, "It's important not to judge someone solely based on their appearance." The man gasps and covers his mouth, apologizing, "I'm so sorry, darling kitty cat girl. I truly didn't intend to be disrespectful, sweetie." He observes her from head to toe while circling around her and inquires, "Oh honey, so you're part of that fabulous race that lives out in the wild, am I correct?" Kittienia glances at the man and responds with a question of her own, "Yes, why do you ask?"
The man's eyes briefly meet Kittienia's, showing a hint of curiosity about her culture. "By the Great Divines, so you're the fabulous ones who live in the wild, tame animals and are always on the move, honey?" Kittienia chuckles softly, responding, "You're the first person I've met who's genuinely interested in us without any hostility based on appearance." The man's expression changes to surprise, and he quickly reassures her, "Oh, darling, I'm not biased at all, and I wouldn't spill the tea on your crew by spilling any deets." A sense of relief washes over Kittienia's face as she smiles warmly, saying, "I'm glad to hear that."
Sitting beside Kittienia, Kwitwaka, or Nightclaw, closely observing the merchant, suddenly perked up their ears, looked behind them, assumed a defensive position, and began growling. From behind, Kittienia heard a voice saying, "You man-woman, go away! Nobody wants you in this city!" as a stone narrowly missed hitting the man. Surprised by the attack, Kittienia swiftly adopted a fighting stance, skillfully deflecting another stone thrown towards her. The man panickedly pleaded with a lisp, " Oh my god, can you just stop bothering me? I, like, totally haven't done anything to you, sweeties."
From a distance, three individuals stood with disdain, clutching stones and wearing expressions of anger and malevolence. In response to the merchant's words, one of the men shouted, "You certainly did! You arrived in this city, you man-loving freak!" Despite her composed demeanor, kittienia's fury ignited when she witnessed these individuals attacking an innocent person and dictating who they could love. This ignited a fire within her soul, compelling her to charge towards them. Nightclaw or Kwitwaka swiftly followed suit. Kittienia aimed a punch at one of the men, narrowly missing him but causing him to lose his balance. Meanwhile, Kwitwaka delivered a powerful strike to another man, refraining from revealing their claws and successfully knocking him down.
Before the last man could assist his companion, kittienia forcefully pushed him to the ground. She then climbed on top of him, seized him by the shirt, and hoisted him up from the ground, staring directly into his eyes while displaying her anger through her actions. She growled a menacing threat at them, "Leave this place immediately and never return to bother this man, or you will regret it!" After releasing the man, she stepped away from him and returned to the merchant with a slight speech impediment. The men clutched each other in fear and fled with their tails between their legs, clearly terrified.
Kittienia approached the merchant with a lisp and asked if he was okay. In response, the merchant nodded. Concerned about potential bullies, Kittienia decided to stay by the merchant's side. This gesture moved the merchant to tears, and he asked if they could be friends. With a gentle smile, Kittienia agreed, extending her hand in greeting and introducing herself as Kittienia Coveringrock. The merchant accepted the greeting by grabbing her hand and asked if he could call her "Kitty" for short. Kittienia nodded and happily agreed. The merchant, now smiling, introduced himself as Tod Morchance. They shook hands, solidifying their newfound friendship.
