Elysium's End

Echoes of Destiny

Echoes of Destiny

Jul 02, 2024

"Where... am I?" Elian's voice trembled in the void, uncertainty etched on his face. "Am I dead? Was that all it took for me to die? A mere glance from one of them beings?"

In the darkness, footsteps echoed ominously. "Who's there?" Elian's heart raced as fear gripped him, his eyes darting around the obscure surroundings.

A voice resonated from the void, calling his name. "Elian."

Elian's breath caught in his throat, his face contorting with disbelief and dread. "Who... Who are you? How do you know my name?" His voice quivered, his whole body tense with apprehension.

Step by step, a figure emerged from the shadows, gradually taking form. First, a face materialized, then arms and legs followed, clad in attire that mirrored Serphiel's ominous robes. It was a reflection of Elian himself, uncannily real yet somehow different, as if gazing into a distorted mirror.

"This... can't be..." Elian's voice faltered, shock and confusion washing over him as he stared at the figure—a perfect copy of himself, adorned in the accoutrements of Serphiel.

"Why? Do you not recognize your own face?" The figure chuckled softly, their voice a haunting echo in the eerie silence.

"No, it's... it's that..." Elian struggled to find words, his mind reeling with disbelief and a growing sense of foreboding.

"Elian, we don't have much time to talk," the figure interrupted, their voice calm yet urgent. "But I have enough to give you the gist of what's happening, where you are... and most importantly, who I am."

In this surreal encounter, Elian faced not just a mysterious visitor from the void, but a copy of himself—dressed as Serphiel, the deity who had brought turmoil into his life. The implications of this encounter were profound and unsettling, hinting at deeper mysteries yet to be unveiled.

Elian stared, bewildered yet captivated by the figure's presence. "Who... who are you, really?"

"I am your will," the figure replied, their voice carrying a weight of authority and wisdom. "Infused with the light that was on Earth—the light of the Luminaries that entered your body when the Anshelborn bestowed their gifts upon you."

"Light? Luminaries?" Elian's voice trembled with confusion. "Mr. Will, don't you think you're leaving out a few characters?"

"Oh, Elian," the will replied calmly, "as I said, we don't have enough time. Your will is currently very weak and fragile, which caused you to fall unconscious. However, It won't be long before you wake up, so I won't go into too much detail, but enough to help you grasp the peculiarity of the situation."

Elian struggled to comprehend the enigmatic words, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"Uh, whatever," he muttered, trying to process the surreal encounter. "So let's start. I am your will... I wasn't supposed to meet you this soon."

"Why is that?" Elian asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Because, simply put, the Anshelborn deities don't want us to," the will explained cryptically, a hint of caution in its voice.

"So how did you come to meet me if these Deities didn't want us to?" Elian demanded, his voice tinged with urgency and fear.

"Well, you see, there isn't just the Anshelborn deities," the will began cautiously, sensing Elian's impatience. "There are two more celestial races."

"You're telling me there are more evil beings?! What if they come too and kill the remaining of us as well... Wait, how's Aurelia? How's Ashun? And Lucas? And Barron? How is the world right now—"

"Elian, calm down!" the will exclaimed sharply, cutting through Elian's frantic questions.

"For now I can't tell much since I, as your will, am quite weak," the will explained solemnly, sensing Elian's concern. "But your friends and family should be safe, as long as their will is strong enough to handle the celestial powers."

Elian stood there in shock, his mind racing with worry and uncertainty about the fate of his loved ones.

The will gently placed a reassuring hand on Elian's shoulder, offering a faint smile of concern. "Elian, they will be okay. Have faith."

Elian met the will's gaze, a mix of hope and anxiety in his eyes. "I hope so, as well."

"Alright, so if you're following," the will continued, changing the subject, "there are two other celestial beings, one of them being the Luminaries."
