Aquatina's tale began during her childhood. Despite her noble status, she had two close companions - a commoner named Triton Pearlscale and the child of a guard named Aqilus Coraltide. They were her closest friends until tragedy struck. Aqilus's parents were murdered by an unknown foe, leading to him being relentlessly bullied by cruel children who taunted him with hurtful words about his parents and himself.

The hurtful words from the bullies shattered Aqilus' spirit, plunging him into a pit of despair, sorrow, and isolation that mirrored the cruelty of those tormenting him. Despite his initial reaction of violence towards his tormentors, Triton intervened just in time to prevent Aqilus from causing serious harm, pulling him back from the brink of darkness.

As they matured, Triton assumed the role of a guard while Aquatina was groomed to become a princess. Triton, however, made sure to teach her self-defense with weapons and assured her of his unwavering support. Unfortunately, Aqilus spiraled into alcoholism, losing all sense of purpose. Wandering the streets of the grand underwater city of Oshilu, he crossed paths with Hisicla, a meeting that further darkened his soul and led him to corrupt the city's outer layers. The city's king urged his daughter, Aquatina, to flee, but she insisted on standing her ground and fighting alongside him. Everything changed when she discovered the mastermind behind the attack. Aqilus stormed into the kingdom, boldly making his way to the throne room as if he owned the place. In a swift move, she escaped through a hidden passageway.

Aqilus watched her leave, he sent Hisicla and an army of snake men to chase her down and kill her. That is when they found Aquatina in the village where she met Asukem and his friends. However, Hisicla did get her with his venomous spit which caused her to get knocked out in the first place. As she ended the story, Asukem didn't change his mind to help Aquatina, but a situation still stood, how were they going to get to the city of Oshilu, which was underwater.
