Marni was introduced in Malevolence Season 2. She's a high ranking vampire, working closely with those in charge of...well...everything. Esther, at some point in her life, worked as a Guardian in Europe, helping to 'fix' issues that came up here and there. Though she's retired now, that doesn't mean she isn't called upon from time to time.
Esther's adapted to the modern world well, but there are some concepts that aren't really her bag. Here we see that she's not the best at keeping up with text messages as she could be. As a result, it creates a bit of a confusion about what Marni wants...and Marni doesn't mind having some fun with it.
