The not so kind cheerleader

Jul 05, 2024

Iara doesn't consider herself a violent person but if she wasn't at school and the woman in front of her wasn't protected by the whole school she would already be in the middle of a fight. Lily read the flier on Iara's hand, and she managed to collect her thoughts while she was nervous that all the eyes were on her. The prospect of organizing a party for all the senior year makes her gather enough courage to say.

"Why would w— We didn't do this, this, we don't want this, right?" She looks at her friend looking for support, Lily's words don't reach Iara, she is completely focused on the cheerleader when she says.

"Are you having fun? DId you spend the whole night making this poster? Do you think we are gonna cry for you to take it back?" If that's an option Lily is already about to do it. "But hey, thank you, this school has been needing a real party, Lily and I are gonna give you the best anniversary of this school.."

Iara gets a little happier when she sees the smile on Anastacia's face drop a little before she says in a whisper. "Good luck. Because you're gonna need it. You don't seem like a people pleaser."

Before Iara can come up with a witty answer the teacher opens the door greeting the classroom Anastacia immediately leaves being followed by Josh and Carol, Iara has to hold herself from yelling at her, she sits down taking a deep breath. Her mind quickly calculating if it's worth getting suspended over a little fight with her colleague, deciding that she's probably going to need an education she puts her hand on her forehead and turns to Lily whispering.

"What do we have to do? Like it's just a party? Should we get balloons? Maybe a clown that reads the bible? And what does it mean to have an afterparty? BEcause the school is not going to let us have a real one that's for sure." Iara doesn't understand why but Lily's face got progressively more disappointed and disgusted while Iara was talking.

"Hey lady, hey Iara, hey you harlot, have you gone mad? What we have to do is go to the principal and say we don't wanna do it." Lily's voice shows how affronted she feels that Iara actually thinks they're going to throw the school anniversary.

"We are not gonna do that, he would not let us take it back without a good reason."

"I tell him that my grandma died, she is not gonna come to my graduation anyways." When Iara rolls her eyes Lily's hand reaches her friend's arm, for a second Iara is fooled in a false sense of security, the pain of having five nails dug into her skin brings her back to reality. Thankfully for her, Lily doesn't let her nails grow too much. "Hey. Stop lying. Why do you want to work for a bunch of assholes that hate us? Is it a kink? Please tell me it's not a kink."

"It's not a fucking kink." Her voice goes a little bit louder than she wanted and the students behind her give the two girls a disapproving look that makes Lily take her hand off Iara's arm. "Like I was saying, not a kink, and yeah you got me, we could run from all this work, but if we did that would mean Anastacia did something that affected us and—"

"It is affecting us, it's currently affecting me. right now, she did it." Lily looks at the teacher that seems to be choosing a movie and not really paying attention to the classroom but her eyes quickly dart to Anastacia, the cheerleader studies the two girls with a small smile.

"But, if we give up, it's gonna show to her that it affects us, we can't have that we are in a war."

"We are highschool students that dislike one girl, don't you have a test or something?"

"We had one already, the Franz Fafka one, I got an A so I could keep hating in peace. And you got an A by proxy so you should thank me for hating with a purpose." Lily covers her face at how stupid this situation turned. Bullying she can understand, but this not even bullying this is giving a person a position of power so she can do a bad job at it and get the whole city to hate her even more. Maybe that's why the school doesn't have a student council anymore.

Lily looks up, staring at her friend who is not paying attention to God's Not Dead playing on the tv screen instead writing all the ideas she has for a party. Not an anniversary, a party. Lily for a moment thinks about giving up and just going to the principal herself, but when she sees the way Iara seems excited to work against someone, she remembers how alone this school felt, she remembers being called names by the trio, she remembers her struggle to believe in anyone in St Damian because of them, and for a moment she is filled with determination when she says.

"You know what. We should actually fuck them. Let's actually throw a party."

The two girls don't look at the screen for even a second, they're too focused on trying to find a way to organize a party for the school and a way to organize an afterparty for the students, when the teacher finally leaves, Iara has written down every information Lily could give her, she has a plan, she is about to monologue when she gets interrupted by one of her classmates.

"You two are gonna ruin this for us right? I understand your sexual preferences but just because we don't agree with it you shouldn't destroy our happiness, we don't destroy yours." The young girl has black hair tied in a messy bun, she has pale skin and blue eyes, usually she is always smiling but this time her face shows how uncomfortable she is by just talking to the two girls. Lily is about to apologize but Iara's answer comes out first.

"What happened to hello, huh?" Iara looks at Lily then back to the girl while she is getting up standing a little shorter than the woman in front of her. If she remembers correctly her name is Madelyn. "I understand that you are an annoying waste of space, but I don't tell you that. And don't worry, this anniversary is gonna be better than anything Anastacia's little head could even imagine."

The girl seems to go through a lot of emotions, she is surprised, angry, fearful and nervous, she gets a little closer to Iara trying to not only read her intentions but also intimidate her. This gets the attention of Anastacia who watches this interaction with more curiosity than she would like to admit. Iara doesn't back down, her whole plan of being completely invisible has already failed, so she might as well fight.

"Ok then, what do you plan on doing? If it's so good that you took Anastacia out of it." Iara looks at Lily silently asking for a confirmation, when the younger girl gives the affirmative Iara turns back to Madelyn saying with a smile.

"Well, not that it matters to you, but the anniversary will be here, obviously, but the after party will be..." The tension fades a little when she gets her phone out and spends the next thirty seconds dragging out the letter "e" while looking for the right picture. "Here. In this big ass house."

She shows a picture of Lily's house, it was the first time she went there and she had to take a picture because it felt like a completely different reality. While the movie was happening they briefly talked about using Lily's house, there's a big garden, locks in every door, a gazebo, six rooms. The only problem was trying to get Lily's father, Kingsley, out of the house. But the brag seems to have worked, for a second Madelyn seems speechless, she sighs and fixes her posture going back to acting superior.

"Well. Hopefully you guys won't blow this. Scissors." Without giving the chance for the both of them to answer she leaves the classroom Iara, who got really confused at this interaction looks at Lily and says.

"Remind me why we are called scissors?"

"Cause we scissor in bed. I guess they don't want to call us slurs because God doesn't like that." Lily gets up letting out a small smile when Iara seems even more confused at the explanation.

"That 's stupid! In my old school there was a trans guy and he was called Mulan, and a girl called Elsa because her parents died on a business trip" Iara stops talking when she sees Lily loudly laughing at her stories, her friend seems to have a little trouble breathing before she says.

"Did you... DId you have a nickname?"

"I was called Cinderella because whenever there was a party I would lose a piece of clothing" Lily laughs and stops walking just to look at Iara.

"I remember that! I got you with the line "If you're Cinderella can I be the prince...ssss?" cause I'm like really good at pick up lines"

"You were the only girl that did that line with me, and It is hard to find someone like us around here."

"Getting lucky on a technicality, that's what I do best!!" She goes back to walking with a newfound happiness, for a second she forgets all the work they have to do.

Until the lunch break both girls have nothing to worry about, having to actually pay attention in class takes away their power to do much plotting, after meeting each other in the cafeteria they realized that the plan of being invisible was completely over, every pair of eyes was looking at them, every whisper was about them and every prayer was probably about them. Lily feels very uncomfortable, she is used to having the attention of a few people that used to make fun of her, but it's different when it's the whole school. Iara is feeling fine, she wanted to not be involved in any kind of drama, but now she only wants to cause drama in a certain cheerleader's life.

"Maybe this is how Jesus felt." Iara says as she sits down in one of the tables that was occupied by four students that immediately leave.

"When he was being crucified or just in general?" Lily sits at her side trying to ignore all the attention that is on them.

"In general he did walk with a lot of whores, and you're my only friend."

"Oh, in this scenario you're Jesus and I'm a random whore?" Lily pretends to be annoyed while eating.

"No, you're Jesus's favorite whore!" Iara laughs at the way Lily's face gets disgusted but her happiness is extinguished when she sees another person sitting at the table saying.

"You shouldn't joke about the Lord like that. It's disrespectful." A young man sits down on the other side of the table, he has a buzz cut black hair, his eyes are a dark tone of green, accompanied by two dark circles underneath it, his golden beige skin being almost completely covered with accessories from christianity. eight bracelets, six rings and two necklaces. Lily is the first of the girls to speak, she recognizes him as Andrew the leader of the chess club in the school.

"Are you sure you want to talk to us? Won't you get the virus?" Lily doesn't actually fear him, fortunately the chess club is even lower in the social pyramid than her.

"Don't worry, since you are organizing the anniversary "tis became necessary" Iara raises an eyebrow confused, Andrew seems to view this as an invitation for him to keep going. "You see, my people aren't being seen with respect, but with the rise of chess, so does the rise of Club of Intrigue and you guys can't ruin it for us."

"What the fuck is the Club of Intrigue?" Iara says suddenly feeling very motivated to participate in this conversation.

"It's the best club, no, the best society you could find, we accept everyone, all you have to do is be able to control other people, to manipulate them and eventually destroy your enemies." Andrew explains with a victorious smile as he feels the interest of Iara grow.

"It's the chess club." Lily explains with an annoyed tone.

"Oh." Andrew sees Iara deflate, all the desire to enter the chess team quickly leaving her body as she moves a hand through her hair.

"But chess is a game of intrigue, of manipulation, it's fun. I promise!" By the end of the sentence Andrew is almost begging for them to give chess a chance, Iara clears her throat and tries to keep the conversation by asking.

"Not trying to be rude, but what does that have to do with us?" Lily shakes her head in agreement, trying to politely tell him to leave.

The boy smiles, he takes out his phone showing a picture of graphics posted by the Gossip At Saint Damian. Seeing that Iara and Lily don't seem to understand he puts his phone down and looks at the ceiling annoyed at how slow the two girls are. When Andrew looks back at them he slowly begins explaining, almost like he is speaking with a child.

"This is graphic made by the school's instagram account contains all the clubs and cliques and the growth they had since sophomore year, the Club of Intrigue was not participating in any party until James invited us for one in the beginning of the year and, lo and behold, our numbers skyrocketed." He shows the second picture, a ranking where the chess club sits in the sixteenth place, when he sees the unimpressed faces of the two girls he keeps going exasperated. "This means that we thrive at parties, we went up eight spots, just by one. So this means that I need you guys to throw the best party ever made. With lots of alcohol."

"Who takes care of this account? I wish I had this much free time like damn graphics, ranking, next thing we know there's gonna be a tournament or something." Iara says while looking closely at the picture, she is actually surprised at the effort it takes to run that account. Lily is already used to the shenanigans of GSD so she ignores her friend answering Andrew.

"Look, we are gonna throw a nice afterparty, but... isn't it bad to have alcohol? People will like that? we were planning on like, having grape juice to represent wine or something." She feels a little bad when Andrew looks mortified at what she said.

"Well I sure hope that this was a gag, because of course we drink, the Almighty Jesus Christ, Son of God turned water into wine, of course we drink, the only thing we don't do is drink in excess like you two, but it's totally fine to have a little bit of wine and beer when you're having fun!" The two girls realize they should probably pay more attention to the teachings of the church, and a confused Iara asks.

"But... we are underage, so it's probably a sin right?" Andrew seems even more annoyed as he shakes his head.

"That is a rule created by men, would it be less of a sin if we went to Amsterdam where the legal age of drinking is sixteen? No. The teachings of the Lord are greater than whatever the men say." Iara and Lily exchange a glance both feeling a little conflicted about that last sentence. Deciding to ignore it, Iara sighs as she looks at Andrew for a second, looking for an answer that could be beneficial for the two girls.
