With the sun well over the horizon, the Rebels made their move as Ethan and Tony had made their way to Sector 5. Walking between skyscrapers, they searched for signs of Gov. Galaxia only to find one of her Generals standing at 6.7 ft in the street like a sentinel with his axe. They walked toward the General before he acknowledged their presence. “I welcome you to sector 5, the dominion of Governor Galaxia,” the General said. “Well that’s unfortunate, I thought the governor would greet us herself.” The General lifted his battle axe, resting the shaft of the battle axe on his shoulder. “There’s no need for such formalities, her greetings are here before you.”
A shadow was cast and was enlarging, Ethan looked up and instantly teleported away while Tony blocked an aerial hammer attack from one of the descending Generals. The street quaked and cracked as 4 Generals landed while Tony stood his ground still blocking the hammer attack before pushing it away.
Surrounded by the 6.7 ft Generals, Ethan channelled his energy into the symbols on his hand as they glowed of ivy. Ethan swung his hand across each other as they formed an X, gesturing a pull on strings as the Rebels were conjured around him simultaneously with their weapons ready. “Our time has come again, Rebels! Remember the plan?”
“Yes!”
“Then let’s execute the plan.”
Galaxia grinned while she sat up on her throne in an IT lab where she was surrounded by CPUs and servers that were connected to her by cables. “Vector was right, the rebels are still alive. Leave it to Lord Quinn to bring the dead back to life, and where did they pop out from?”
The Rebels split into two teams of three as one team handled one general while the other dealt with another General, leaving 3 generals for Ethan, Tony and Tenzin. Everyone charged toward their targeted General while Ethan walked to his target, the General with the battle axe. The General dashed toward Ethan who seemed unfazed as he continued walking, the General swung his battle axe at Ethan.
Kinetic energy out of all the energy types is my favourite due to its potential. Used right, it can be very effective but one needs to be accurate in using it; one miscalculation in force distribution can lead to dangerous injuries. In this situation, it is better to overwhelm than be precise.
Lifting his left hand toward the battle axe, Ethan caught the blade of the battle axe with his fingers. When two forces collide, one would expect some sort of sound or impact to be released but there was none which left the General in shock.
An excellent execution of force cancellation and impact absorption, that went smoother than expected.
Still left perplexed by what was happening, the General realised it rather late that he had been mutilated by Ethan’s energy sword in his right hand.
The sudden fall of one general caused a halt among the other generals. Galaxia had stood up from her throne with her hands on her head. “OMG, Lord Quinn has come to play for real, how am I supposed to beat that? Hmm… I might have to go to plan V after seeing that… Nonetheless, the fun only begins once you find me, Lord Quinn.”
Back on the battlefield, the Colonel, Flash & Chemic were up against the General with a spear while Bradley, Kunoichi & Ninja took on the General with gauntlets. Tony was battling with the General who had a giant hammer and Tenzin was brawling with the General who used nun-chucks. Bradley quickly charged toward his opponent, throwing a punch at him while the General did the same. Their punches collided but neither relented as their fists were at a stalemate. Bradley stood his ground as both warriors threw a flurry of punches that kept colliding with one another until one would give in.
Flesh and bone could never outlast metal in a battle of endurance, Bradley knew this as the ongoing stalemate between attacks put immense pressure on his bones and muscles. His saving grace was his support as Kunoichi aimed for the head but the General blocked the electrified arrow with his forearm as it pierced into it, leaving him open to Bradley’s punch in the side of his gut. The electric impact pushed the general back with Ninja rushing toward him. The General smashed the ground with his fists and a shockwave to surf above the quaking ground, forcing Ninja away as he stumbled back.
Meanwhile, the Colonel was putting the General on the back foot, overwhelming him with the mastery of her weapon. Chemic and Flash acted as support for the Colonel but she didn't seem to need it. She wielded her weapon masterfully, swiftly switching between a spear and a three-section staff, giving her opponent no chance to adapt or attack as her movements always led to another attack. Unable to keep up, a section of her weapon slapped the General in the face with a surge of electricity causing him to tumble back. The Colonel smirked as she swirled her three-section staff like nun-chucks with sparks of electricity.
Ethan looked behind him and saw that everything was going accordingly. The rebels are handling the generals pretty well, so far there’s nothing to worry about since Tony and Tenzin are making short work of their generals… It is time to execute my part of the plan. He opened his VRGUI and scanned the area. As a puppeteer, she wouldn’t be near the battlefield but would be within her own sector, so the question is where? If she is puppeteering the generals, she would need a place that has the processors needed to control these generals individually. She was smart enough to make several IT Labs as a distraction from her location, but unfortunately, there is one lab that is using a lot of energy and another one that is not using as much. It’s obvious which one she’s at.
Blasting off the ground, Ethan swiftly manoeuvred between and over buildings with his hover sneakers as he zoomed ballistically through the air toward his destination. Through the eyes of the Generals, Galaxia could see Ethan heading toward one of the labs. “…Wow, he’s already heading in the right direction. Gotta get the welcome party ready.”
The sounds of guns firing and blades clashing resounded through the streets. Tony seemed unamused as he dodged his opponent’s hammer attacks. “Come on, can’t you do better than this?” Countering with a Maroon punch, Tony sent the General crashing into a building. The constant beating from the Rebels had pushed the Generals to their breaking point as sparks of electricity emitted around their bodies before glowing with ecstatic aura. The Rebels stood back on alert as they expected this. “They’ve converged to a 100% energy output, Colonel. However, their 100% is only 50% of a Governor’s full potential, specifically Governor Codey, Colonel,” Chemic said while analysing the Generals' convergence.
“Just like Cyber said in the meeting. Alright Rebels, you know strategy for this so engage!”
“Roger!”
The Rebels spread out as they each ran through alleyways between buildings and away from the Generals. The sudden change of movement left the Generals looking around and wondering who to go after since they weren’t attacking in teams anymore, but they locked on to one target each and chased after them; leaving Tony and Tenzin with their Generals behind on the street where it all began.
Sprinting through a shaded alleyway, Kunoichi looked behind and her eyes enlarged as she saw the gauntlet General speeding toward her. “I got one on me, the gauntlet one!”
“I also got one on my tail, can you keep him busy while we handle this one, Chi?” the Colonel asked while running out of the alleyway and into the street.
“Uhh, I’ll try my best, Colonel.” Kunoichi launched herself up and swiftly zigzagged up the alleyway walls to the top of a building. The General followed her but not as fluidly as she did. She sprinted across the roof before jumping off the edge and shooting an electrified arrow at the General chasing her. The arrow flashed through the General, realising that it had pierced through his shoulder but he ignored it, for his focus was on Kunoichi who was falling to the streets.
The Colonel was still running from the General as she was evasively running around the block. All the running distracted the General from the spinning sword that just sliced into his back before returning to Ninja’s hand, bringing the General to a halt. Bradley rushed out of the shade of an alleyway to attack the General as he was about to give him an all-mighty punch. If Bradley’s punches could destroy falling debris with those gauntlets, then imagine what he could do to that General’s head. The Colonel's thought brought an eager grin to her face as she looked back and watched Bradley make an impact with the General’s face. The more strength you put into a punch, the more electric discharge will released. Like being hit by a sledgehammer in the face, Bradley’s fist demolished the General’s face as a surge of electricity eradicated his head. The Colonel smirked and chuckled while the corpse of a General fell to the ground. She turned and ran down the street. “Great work Bradley. Now Kunoichi, are you still alive?”
“YES! Where are you guys?!”
The urgency in her voice caused the Colonel to speed up. “I’m on my way Kunoichi, just lure him back toward my location if you can.”
The shattering of glass rung through the comms as Kunoichi barrel-rolled onto a business office floor and dashed toward the door to the stairs. Bursting through the door, parkour over the railing and descended many floors before reaching the ground floor as she used her electromagnetic shoes to break her fall. She sprinted toward the main exit of the building but realised that she wasn’t being followed. That didn’t stop her though as she was nearing the exit but debris from the upper floor crashed down with the General as sparks surged around him after landing. Kunoichi tried stopping in her tracks but the General was close enough to land a punch as he did. However, Kunoichi with her quick thinking jumped up the hole of the upper floor. “Are you serious? Just stop running already,” the General grumbled.
The grin on her face couldn’t make it more obvious that she was pleased with herself. Making a break for the window on the other side of the room, Kunoichi ran on top of desks swiftly. Launching through the hole, the General landed and rushed through the furniture in the room to catch up with Kunoichi. “Truly, you were born to run away.”
Nervous chuckling left her. “You’re just bad at playing tag so don’t get mad or it’ll be a drag.”
Crashing through a window, she fell to the streets, barrel rolling as she landed then ran down the street with the General right on her tail. “Colonel, I'm running out of gas here.” The General reached out to grab Kunoichi, but it all happened so fast to his shock as something crashed into him with so much force that it caused him to tumble far into a building with it. Kunoichi heard the crash and looked back to see that the General was gone, leaving behind the wreckage of what had happened.
“Huh?” Kunoichi used the forearm to wipe the sweat off her forehead as her confusion forced her to sit on the street. “Colonel, where are you? Something just happened but I don’t know what... I’m just really tired.”
“You did well, Kunoichi. Rest up now and just let me deal with your pursuer.” The Colonel smirked as she fiercely swirled the spear section of her three-sectioned staff.
The General got up abruptly and looked around to see the Colonel. “You must be insane to crash into me like that.”
“I’ve become quite fond of Cyber’s creations, this weapon is so magnificent, only a genius of the art would think to create such a weapon. A weapon that can shift and adapt to my style of fighting, is truly brilliant. Then there are these shoes, they have let me reach a level of mobility that I never reached in my youth, and seeing how Kunoichi & Ninja use these shoes has inspired me to reach beyond my limits.”
Looking upon her face, the General saw nothing but blissfulness which concerned him. “This isn’t the time for your yammering, you are in a battle of life and death, take this seriously.”
“…I’m only telling you all this because I know, you don’t stand a chance against me.”
The General chuffed. “And why is that?”
“Because one, you’re not a Cybortron and two, you’re not Ethan.” The Colonel zoomed before the General, forcing a reaction of a punch from him. However, the Colonel predicted such a move as she had wielded her weapon in a way that swung one electrified section of her three–section staff against the punch with enough surge to divert it from her head. Still in motion of her attack, she used the spear section to impale him through his left chest. Pulling out, she backkicked him away on his abdomen, causing him to tumble out on the streets.
The general quickly recovered back on his feet as he was crouched but before he could get up, in a flash, the Colonel had already closed the gap between them as she was behind him with a middle section of her three-section staff wrapped around his throat. Unable to react, the General was yanked by the throat as the Colonel rapidly spun around and tossed him down the street. Tumbling and rolling back, the General stopped himself pointlessly as the Colonel was already swinging another attack with the bottom section of her three-section staff swinging violently with an electric surge that smashed into the General’s face. Sent flying like a ragdoll in the air, the General’s corpse crashed against a building wall. The damage had been done and could not be ignored any longer, with a smashed head and a hole in his chest, the General twitched and jittered as his body malfunctioned. The Colonel spun her three-section staff into a polearm while she walked away to find Kunoichi. "It is done Rebels!"
The Rebels roared with triumphant over the comms as victory was claimed by them, all the generals were defeated which left only one obstacle for this sector to be vanquished. Ethan had arrived at the IT Lab and was walking down its hallway to enter the puppet master’s den.
