Amidst the darkness of the night, beneath a royal blue sky adorned with a myriad of bright and colorful stars, a pristine white flower bud was glowing on the branch of a flowering tree.
The tree was tall, majestic, and reminiscent of the white wisteria. It stood solitary upon the hill, surrounded by a dark forest. It had countless long white vines hanging down across the branches, and along those threadlike vines were densely furnished with ethereal, five-petaled white blossoms. The tree had no leaves; only flowers, and its presence bestowed a sense of sacredness, serenity, and gentleness.
When the shoot beamed bright like a star, it unfurled into a magnificent blossom with six delicate petals.
As daybreak approached, the sun arose from the horizon, and the sky blushed with hues of gold. The stars faded into the background and the sunlight gradually revealed the colors of the world.
The time had come.
The wind of destiny blew the gleaming blossom off the branch and carried it into the high sky, revealing the truth that it wasn't in a forest but a park in a big city all along.
As soon as the flower set forth, a radiant white humanoid creature—with the body of a little boy, white fur, and a slim, long tail—ventured after it. It was clad in a blue tactical jumpsuit and was on the nearby tree when the flower drifted away.
It chased after the blossom on four legs, leaping from branch to branch. When it reached the edge of the park, it jumped down to the ground and hastened across the street. It leapt to the townhouse, climbed the wall to the roof, and ran after the flower.
The blossom danced with the wind across the city, shining brightly in the sky. When it floated to a flock of birds, the birds made way for it.
The downtown below was a splendid blend of vibrant townhouses and lush trees. A grand river cut through the city, with glittering blue canals spreading throughout the region. Black, white, and orange adorned the capital. The city was orderly planned, with the central district by the river shaped like a half-decagon.
The white creature sprinted along the roofs, through the capital bathed in rays of gold, its eyes fixed upon the ethereal blossom. The flower led the creature to a bright orange townhouse on the other side of the city. It stood among a row of colorful townhouses, beside a charming red-brick road, and across from a line of trees alongside a canal.
When the flower came close to the building, it descended down from the sky and glided to the window on the third floor. The window opened itself, and the flower floated into a bright orange bedroom with a blue-sky ceiling adorned with clouds.
The flower landed gently on the palm of a twelve-year-old boy who was sleeping on the bed beneath an orange blanket.
The boy had a skinny body, golden-blonde hair, sky-blue eyes, white skin, and a faded, long-cut scar on his left cheekbone.
The boy was dreaming. In his dream, he saw a sequence of pictures.
The first was a gargantuan tree towering atop a massive pyramid mountain, over a white forest, toward the sky. It was entirely embellished with a resplendent array of pristine white blossoms and stood upon a vast island that levitated in space, among the stars and cosmic dust. It was the same tree that bloomed the glowing flower, but far more immense, gorgeous, and majestic. Not just one, but all the blooms and vines shone brightly like stars in the night. Even though the tree was colossal, the size of the vines and flowers remained the same. Right above the trunk was a sphere of white light, shielded by entangled wooden vines.
The second was a noble white knight standing before a team of heroes. He had gorgeous glowing blue eyes, an elegant blue cape, and a blue crystal heart—an illuminating inverted triangular blue crystal on the chest. The team included men and women, humans and aliens, creatures and robots. They were all dressed in different outfits and had various appearances. For example, one was a man with a robotic body, another was very tall with scarlet hair, one was black and carried dual pistols, another dressed like a superhero, one was garbed in a blue robe, and so forth. Everyone looked at the boy with gentle gazes and friendly smiles, while the knight offered his hand to the boy.
The third was a league of villains. All of them were dressed in black and had glowing purple eyes. Just like the team of heroes, they had distinct outfits and appearances. For instance, one was clad in majestic black armor with a purple cape, another was an exalted automaton, one was a giant warrior carrying all kinds of weapons, another was a handsome young man in an overcoat, one was in a high-tech armor suit with a black cape, another was a sorcerer in a red robe, one was a dignified, tall, snow-skin old man in a large, long high-collar cape, and so on. They all looked intimidating and powerful. Their eyes were blazed with the fire of determination. They hid in darkness, glaring at the boy.
The fourth was eight gods upon eight thrones that lined up along the edge of a circular marble ground adorned with gold, facing towards the center. All of them were majestic and magnificent beyond words. Each deity possessed a unique appearance and a different-colored crystal heart. One was an ethereal golden humanoid being with radiating energy body, one was a dragonlike humanoid alien; one was an otherworldly gorgeous tall strong woman; one was a dignified, strong man with a long, silken beard; one had a floating large sun-like eye as a head; One was a pretty, gentle, small woman; one was a giant, bulky warrior; and one was a little, adorable creature with white fur. Seven thrones were varied in size, made of ethereal marble, and splendidly adorned with pristine gold, much like the ground, and one was gigantic—larger than the others—made of unalloyed gold, gorgeously engraved and designed, and majestic like the seat of the king of heaven. Embedded at the forefront of the backrests, above the heads of the deities, was a smaller replica of their heart crystals. The ground was the crown of the colossal tower. It was located at the top and had nothing tower above it.
The tower was exceedingly tall, standing prominently at the heart of the heaven city. It had ten layers, with the upper layer always smaller than the lower layers. Each layer had the shape of a cylinder. Even though the tower had only ten layers, it had countless floors inside it.
The heaven city was entirely constructed of marble, embellished with gold, situated beneath the golden sky, supported by a sea of clouds, and surrounded by a wall of mist. Even though the city was primordial, it now has been enhanced with advanced future technology. The eight gods were discussing some dead serious matter.
The fifth was a terrifying colossal monster, as tall as a skyscraper, standing on two legs amidst a dark, ruined city beneath a dark sky, spreading its arms and roaring at the sky. It had a dragon-like head with large crown-shaped horns, a muscular scale body, glowing green eyes, sharp long fangs and claws, a long, large tail, and a green crystal heart. Its snarl shook the city. Its body emitted green lightning insanely. Brutal hurricanes were all over the city, ravaging everything in their paths. The green lightning strike happened every second, hitting everything in the city. But when listening carefully to the monster's growl, it sounded more like a sorrowful cry than a furious scream.
The sixth was a galactic war between the invaders and the defenders. The invaders were attempting to annihilate all the planets in the galaxy, while the defenders were trying to protect them.
All of the invaders' ships were black and intimidating, propelled by green engines, while the defenders' ships were white, painted with symbols and patterns in solid blue colors, and propelled by blue engines.
Each side’s fleet consists of many classes of starships—fighters, corvettes, frigates, cruisers, and capital ships.
The dark fleets significantly outnumbered the white fleet. Their ships and weapons were more advanced in both technology and design. Their warriors were more united and fought aggressively, as if they didn't fear death.
Worse than that, the dark fleets were assisted by armed starships from other nations, both civilian and military. They were less advanced than the dark fleets but still deadly. Other than the traditional starships, the dark fleet was also supported by swarms of various-sized horrifying space monsters, armies of automatons, legions of synthetic-organic starships, and hordes of bio-organic spaceships.
Both sides bombarded each other with laser cannons, missiles, and an array of futuristic weapons. The projectiles of the dark fleets were green, while those of the defenders’ fleets were multicolored. Some planets had already been destroyed, some were being destroyed, and some were about to be destroyed.
The longer time passed, the smaller the defending army became. On the other hand, the invader's fleets continued to expand, bolstered by unlimited reinforcements that kept jumping across the universe or emerging from green portals.
The dark fleets approached the planets from all directions, squashing all the defending ships in their paths.
Suddenly, a blazing yellow sun appeared out of nowhere in space. It was highly unstable, emitting plasma furiously all around it.
The citizens on the planets and the defending soldiers in the spaceships watched the eye in fear and shock, freezing like statues.
Then, the sun's surface split open as if it had been cut by a colossal knife. The crevice, except at both ends, kept expanding sideways until it transformed the ordinary sun into a slitted eyeball. Now, the sun looked like the levitating eye of a serpent.
Then, the eye looked at the closest planet, casted a spell in an unknown language with an ominous voice and fired a gigantic purple energy beam at the planet. The beam blazed everything in its path to ashes, including the white fleets, before hitting the surface of the planet and blowing the entire world into pieces.
After the planet was annihilated, the eye turned to other planets, teleported to them, and wiped them out with the beam of death.
Every time the eye turned to the new planet, the people on that planet would scream in fear and run for their lives, even though there was nowhere for them to run. After erasing all the worlds around it, the eye unleashed a deep, earsplitting, sinister laugh that shook the space and vanished into thin air, leaving the remaining defenders' starships and shocked soldiers to be crushed by the formidable army.
The seventh was a tall strong man in a black ragged cloak standing amidst a dark dead forest, upon coarse pitch-black soil, beneath a ceiling of dark clouds. He was turning his back to the boy, watching a dark green orb that looked like an eclipse and floating above a gigantic dead tree.
The tree was as enormous as the giant tree of the floating island and stood prominently atop an immense mountain just like it. Its shape resembled a colossal hand with sharp fingers clutching the sphere. The dark orb beamed a massive ray of green light to the sky, opening the hole in the clouds. The orb drew power from the tree as green wisps of energy vapor that drifted out from the crown of the tree into the orb could be seen.
Once in a while, the orb unleashed a massive burst of energy to the sky, and the cloud ceiling rumbled with green light.
The tree was guarded to the utmost. It was fortified by enormous circular black metal walls, only God knew how many, and on top of every watchtower were grand laser cannons. Along the walls between the cannons were lines of laser machine guns.
A swarm of batlike monsters were flying around the tree. Countless laser cannons and anti-spacecraft artillery scattered throughout the region around the tree, all pointing skyward. Multiple spotlights beamed from the ground and the walls to the cloud ceiling, illuminating the entire sky.
Besides the winged monsters, the dark sky was also protected by a fleet of massive gunships flying slowly above the area. They had a long rectangular shape and hovered with four green plasma engines. Flying around them were squadrons of minor gunships with twin engines, and patrolling the sky at high speed were fighter jets.
Staring at the orb, the man in cloak perceived the presence of the boy. He looked down until his sight aligned with the ground, then slowly turned his face to the boy and glared at him out of the corner of his eye.
He concealed his face behind a dark, skull-shaped metal helmet, and his sinister glowing green eyes were the only things the boy could see within that terrifying helmet.
He rotated his body to the boy, before the wind blew open his cloak, revealing the menacing suit of black armor with a skeletal design beneath it.
The man extended his right hand to his left and turned the palm outward. As soon as he closed his hand, a long black metal staff materialized in his grasp. It had a skeletal design and looked so terrifying. After swinging his staff from left to right in a semicircle, he stabbed the ground with it, and a large, long curved green energy blade ejected out of the head of the staff, transforming it into a great laser scythe. Also, the moment the staff hit the ground, green energy gushed out from it, into the dirt, spreading out in all directions.
A few seconds later, rotten hands plunged out of the dirt, and an army of corpses rose up from the ground. Humans weren't the only beings that emerged; there were also aliens, both humanoid and non-humanoid. All of them dressed in different damaged attires with various designs and from distinct eras and social classes—from ancient to futuristic, from working class to upper class.
When the dead surfaced, they all had nothing but bone and some flesh. But then the green energy reconstructed their bodies, turning them back into the healthy persons they once were. However, their skin became pale, and their eyes glowed with green light.
Other than the humanoid beings, there were also peculiar animals and terrifying monsters that rose up from the earth. Even though they had returned to life, they looked like soulless puppets rather than living things. They didn't speak or move, just glaring at the boy like the man in the black armor did.
The man in the black armor stomped toward the boy and the dead followed him. When he reached the boy, he cut him with the scythe.
