Aurora and Ygriv walked into their Faedell History class, feeling excited and curious about what they were going to learn. Ygriv had been looking forward to this class all week, and he couldn't wait to see what Professor Nakatalos had in store for them.
The class was held in a large lecture hall, with rows of wooden desks and a large chalkboard at the front. Professor Nakatalos was already there, standing at the front of the room and smiling at his students.
"Good morning, class," he said. "Today, we are going to be learning about the creation of the Universe."
Aurora listened attentively as Professor Nakatalos began his lecture. He explained how the Universe had been created by the Supreme Forces, and how they had shaped the worlds and everything in them.
As he spoke, Aurora felt a strange sensation wash over her. She couldn't explain it, but something about the Supreme Forces made her feel uneasy. She tried to ignore the feeling, and focused on taking notes and absorbing as much information as possible.
But then, she started to hear whispers. They were faint at first, like echoes bouncing off the walls of the lecture hall. But then, they grew stronger and stronger, until they were ricocheting around the room and going straight to her.
Aurora felt a chill run down her spine. She looked around the room, but no one else seemed to be hearing the whispers. She tried to focus on the lecture, but the whispers were too distracting.
Suddenly, she heard a voice. It was faint at first, but then it grew louder and clearer. It was a voice she had never heard before, but it was speaking directly to her. It was calling for her, repeating her name, again and again.
Aurora's hands shook as she clutched at her head, feeling like she was going insane. The voices grew stronger and louder, until she felt like she was being crushed under the weight of their words. Ygriv looked at her with concern, noticing her trembling and the faint noises of pain she was making.
Suddenly, Aurora stood up and pushed everything and everyone around her with a burst of light yellow energy. She yelled "Finite!", and the voices abruptly stopped. But just like the voices stopped, everyone else also did.
On the other side of the school, Guide Luria was overseeing Professor Astrid's AP Mindmajka class. As soon as the burst happened, Luria, Astrid and one of the students, Urka, felt it as it was coming near them and conjured a barrier around them for protection.
They noticed how all of the students sitted straight on the chairs and faced forwards, with a serious expression on their faces and their eyes shining with a light yellow glow. Something weird had happened.
Guide Luria summoned a spell compass to track the source of the powerful majka burst. They quickly made their way down the halls, noticing that every student was standing still with their eyes glowing yellow. It was a terrifying sight, but they pushed forward. As they entered Professor Nakatalos's classroom, the compass shone brighter, indicating that the source of the magic was there.
They cautiously approached the middle of the room, where they found Aurora floating up in the air, with light yellow eyes and her hands pulsing this magic burst. The nearer they got, the weaker they felt. When Luria got right next to her and grabbed her hand, she whispered “Deleterum”. Once she said these words, Aurora’s spell came to an end, and after a few seconds, everything was back to normal.
"What happened?" Guide Luria asked, looking at Aurora with concern.
Aurora shook her head, still feeling disoriented. "I don't know," she said. "I heard voices, and then everything just...stopped."
Guide Luria exchanged a look with Professor Nakatalos, who looked equally confused.
"I've never seen anything like this before," he said, shaking his head.
Guide Luria nodded, looking at Aurora with concern. They knew that something was very wrong, and they needed to find out what it was.
"Stay here," Guide Luria said, turning to Professor Nakatalos. "I'm going to call for backup. We need to get to the bottom of this."
As Guide Luria left the room, Aurora and Ygriv exchanged a worried look. They didn't know what was going on, but they knew that it couldn't be good.
They waited nervously, watching as the other students began to stir and move around again. It was a relief to see that they were okay, but Aurora couldn't shake the feeling that something was still off.
As Guide Luria returned with several other guides and professors, they started to investigate the classroom, looking for any signs of what had happened using boundaries and searching spells. They searched the room, but they couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.
After some discussion, they decided to take Aurora to the infirmary to get checked out. They wanted to make sure that she was okay, and that there were no lasting effects from the burst of magic.
As they made their way to the infirmary, Aurora couldn't help but feel scared. She didn't know what was happening to her, and she didn't know if she could trust herself with her own powers. She hoped that they would be able to find out what was going on, and that they would be able to help her.
They arrived at the infirmary, where they were met by a team of healers. They examined Aurora carefully, looking for any signs of damage. After a thorough examination, they determined that she was physically fine, but that they needed to run some tests to see if there were any lingering effects from the magic.
Aurora nodded, feeling relieved that there was nothing physically wrong with her.
As they ran the tests, Aurora couldn't help but think about what had happened. She didn't know what to make of the voices, or the burst of magic. She knew that she needed to find out what was going on, but she didn't know how.
As she lay in the infirmary, waiting for the tests to be done, she closed her eyes and tried to focus. She reached out with her magic, trying to sense anything that might give her a clue as to what was happening.
After a few moments, she felt a faint pull. It was like something was calling out to her, something that was just out of reach.
She concentrated harder, pushing her magic to its limits. And then, she felt it. It was a presence, a dark and powerful force that was lurking just beyond her reach.
Aurora opened her eyes, feeling a sense of clarity wash over her. She knew what she had to do. She had to find this force, and stop it before it could cause any more harm.
Guide Luria led Aurora down a dimly lit hallway to her office on the first floor. The hallway was empty and quiet, and Aurora felt a sense of unease wash over her. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew that it couldn't be good.
As they entered the office, Aurora couldn't help but feel nervous. She knew that Guide Luria was a powerful majka user, and she didn't know what to expect.
"Please, have a seat," Guide Luria said, gesturing to a chair in front of her desk.
Aurora sat down, feeling a little bit more at ease. Guide Luria sat down behind her desk, and looked at Aurora with a serious expression.
"I'm sorry for what happened in Professor Nakatalos's class," Guide Luria said. "I know that it must have been scary for you. But we need to find out what's going on, and we need your help to do it."
Aurora nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over her.
"I want to help," she said. "I don't know what's happening to me, but I know that something is wrong. I want to find out what it is, and stop it before it's too late."
Guide Luria nodded, looking at Aurora with a sense of respect.
"I believe you," she said. "And I know that you have the power to stop this. But we need to be careful. Whatever is happening, it's powerful and dangerous. We need to approach it with caution, and be prepared for anything."
“What you used there, in that room… it was the Finite spell.” Luria explained. “It is one of the oldest and most powerful mindmajka spells that are out there, as old as the A’tiquae. In fact, it was Jana, your wing’s founder, who created the spell when she needed it the most. But it grew so powerful it was then forbidden by herself. It became illegal.”, she continued. “The Finite spell is basically conjured to control the minds of everyone in the proximity of the burst. It stops them in place, stopping every action, feeling or magic being used. You become a slave to it. And it is almost unstoppable, and cancellation spells almost never work on them. The only reason I could cancel your spell was because your magic isn't that strong just yet. Actually, the majkakins strong enough to conjure Finite could be counted with the fingers of one hand. It takes a lot of power.”
Aurora started feeling very bad all of the sudden, like she did something wrong.
Aurora looked at Guide Luria with tears in her eyes, feeling guilty and ashamed.
"I'm so sorry," she said. "I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't mean to hurt anyone."
Guide Luria put a hand on her shoulder, looking at her with a sympathetic expression.
"It's okay," she said. "You had no control over what happened. You didn't know about this type of magic, and you couldn't have known what would happen. It's not your fault."
Aurora nodded, feeling a little bit better. She knew that she had to be more careful in the future, and that she had to learn more about majka and its history. But for now, she was grateful for Guide Luria's understanding and support.
