The most common fear in the world is the fear of being alone.
Amber Green had hot pink hair, emerald green eyes, and a petite figure of one fifty seven centimeters. Her parents passed away at a young age, so Chris, her older brother who shared her eyes, had to take care of her. He had to wear many hats for her, being a mother, being a father, while being an older brother. It was hard, but he did everything he could to make her feel loved. To make her feel like she was living in a normal family.
" In the sha-sha-shallow~" Amber sang off pitch while cooking. She was wearing an off shoulder green shirt, and black pants. Her voice was high pitched and beautiful when talking, but not so much when it came to vocals. She was cooking an egg using a frying pan, and it was obvious that she lacked culinary skills. The egg was burned...having a black, unsavory exterior. She tossed the egg on the plate while dancing back to the table. "Chris! Ee! Breakfast is here!"
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEE" screeched their pet squid, Ee, in horror.
In this world, squids are the most common domestic pet. Ee looked at the burned black goo, horrified and scared. "EEEEEE?!"
Chris took the plate, and ate the goo in one swift motion.
"Oh my...THIS IS SO DELICIOUS!" He exclaimed , dramatically waving his arms, plastic stars forming in his eyes.
Amber pulled his ear. "You're a horrible actor." Chris immediately vomited the food in the trash can, and shouted, "YOU'RE BANNED FROM THE KITCHEN!" He gave his lovely little sister a chance to be independent and look where it got him- food poisoning. Ee crossed his tentacles in approval, nodding his head. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "I tried my best. Okay??" Lifting a bag of wood chips and put them in a bowl for Ee to eat, he gobbled the wood chips up scrumptiously and made happy squeaks.
"So..the sign ups for the Exterminator Army is today?" Amber asked Chris. Chris nodded. "Yup. That's our safest option to earn money right now.” He looked at her face and saw that she had a worried expression. Chris put his hand on Amber's head. "Don't worry, you'll do great. Remember those self defense skills I taught yo-" Before Chris could mutter his last word, Amber pulled him in an arm lock. "AH HA! Never let your guard down!" Amber smiles proudly. Chris sulked, "You've gotten better at this..."
The camera is focused on Amber's neck, where a collar is...blocking her birthmark.
On the corner of Amber's vision, she saw a dusty old picture.
She tilted the picture of her family, and glanced at it in sadness.
Chris took away the picture from her hand coldly, and then attempted to distract her. "Wanna eat some of your eggs?"
Amber looked back at him, with a pissed off expression. They chased each other in the living room, laughing.
After their playful hide and seek game, Amber wore her hoodie and went outside to work her 7 part time jobs. Every flier she gave out was 5 Chronos. So if she gave 100 fliers, she would be able to afford grocery shopping.
*500 Chronodollars = 30 USD*
Terrenova City was one of the most populated areas due to immense funding and the population of Tetras. There were tall skyscrapers, and reflective windows and neon lights and shiny sidewalks wherever you went. Amber and Chris lived in a small apartment in Southern Terrenova, because of Chris's job as a computer engineer they were able to pay rent at the skin of their teeth.
Amber walked on the golden luxurious sidewalks of Terrenova, trying to absorb the bright and clean air with her nose. Wearing her blue hooded jacket, she started advertising and passing out her hundred flyers to random strangers walking beside her. "Join the Exterminator Army! Get stable income, and serve your country!" She reworded the advertisement several times, repeating it over again, and over again. "Here sir! Hope you join our proud army." Her infectious smile spread around. Of Course- it wasn't all easy. She would collect glares from strangers, and awkward conversations happened from time to time. Everything went roughly smoothly until she felt a pulse in her heart.
BADUMP! BADUMP!
BADUMP!
BADUMP!
Right in front of her , she saw a car almost hitting a boy. Her reflexes immediately were to protect him. In less than a millisecond, she saw herself flying in the air, glass shattered on her fingertips, and the car flying with her.
She glanced at the blue boy, staring at her with bright tangerine eyes while flying in mid air.
And for a second she felt something in her heart…palpitate.
BAM!
Being aware of her newfound situation, she found her balance and landed on her feet confidently.
"Are you okay?!" Amber rushed to the blue haired boy. With a closer look, she realized that he was a Mono, and was around her age. The blue boy was slightly taller than her, and stared at her with confusion and curiosity. He then lowered his head in shame. "Sorry ma'am."
He then attempted to pick up the machines, but all the parts were broken from the impact.
Apathetically, he left the machine on the ground. Amber spotting the mess. "Sorry about that." She said nervously. Blake then turned his head, now focused on the car that she kicked away. He assumed that she had some sort of constitution skill- and it was probably why she was able to have enough strength to push away a car.
The blue boy turned his attention to the car, knowing that they were in trouble.
The car was upside down, and the windows were shattered. The door was kicked open aggressively and an angry boy with green spiky hair entered out furiously. There was blood dripping from shallow cuts on his face, and he had an arrogant aura.
The angry boy stared downwards at them, even though they weren't much smaller than him. He frowned condescendingly.
"Who the fuck destroyed my car?"
