Anastacia just keeps her eyes on Iara. Maybe it's the drinking, but she can't ignore the feelings or the thoughts that were burning in her mind ever since they fought last week. She wanted to kiss Iara, she decided that this kind of thinking was just a horrible intrusive thought and it didn't mean that she lost her spot in heaven. And for a week it was working, even when they were together everything was fine, but now she always catches herself looking at Iara's mouth, eyes, body, everything.
"Take a picture, you can use it later." Iara says, still feeling annoyed and misreading Anastacia's gaze as a judgmental one.
' "What? I– I wasn't looking. Get over yourself." Anastacia looks away, pouring more wine for herself as a diversion.
"It would be fine if you were, you have pretty eyes, they're like crickets or something like that..." Iara immediately regrets what she just said. Not only because she just flirted with Anastacia but because she somehow made it even more awkward with the comparison. The cheerleader got a little offended but as she remembers what Nikolaevna said to Iara she feels her heart begin to begin to rush, she smiles before saying.
"Like a cricket? Was that supposed to be a compliment or are you still angry with me?" For a second Iara had to make a decision, Anastacia gave her the opportunity to pretend that she was just joking, Iara could leave or double down.
"No, it was... an actual compliment, they're like... those crickets that are all green and shiny, very pretty." She decided to double down, not only on the complement but on the cricket comparison.
"Oh, well, thank you, but... I am not going to feel good about someone saying that I have eyes like a cricket, you have to think of something better." Anastacia looks up, making eye contact with Iara, for some reason she wants to see what the other girl could say about her.
Iara hesitates for a moment, the magnificent plan she had didn't account for this variable, she was not expecting this amount of acceptance from Anastacia. After drinking even more of her wine she says.
"Is it better if I say that you look really good, even when you're yelling at me because I can't dance?" Iara smiles, this time she actually looks straight into Anastacia eyes, trying to show all the conviction she has on what she is saying.
"Do you actually believe that? Or is this just you begging me to organize the anniversary for you because you can't do it?" Anastacia says, trying to hide the fact she already knows the answer.
Iara smiles, happily drinking more of the wine as she says. "Don't worry, I can do a little party, unlike you, i actually go to those, but I a—" Anastacia interrupts the other girl mid sentence, way more angry than Iara would have expected.
"What? I got to parties, I have fun! The only difference is that in my parties we behave like humans, not like animals like Lily and you!"
If Iara wasn't a short tempered person she would be able to explain that she didn't mean anything bad about what she said, realize that Anastacia just revealed that she has access to Iara's instagram and defuse the situation, but she is not. She finishes her drink in one big swing and says.
"Lily and I do have a lot of fun, you wouldn't know what that is like right? Do you even know what real friends are?" She lightly shoves Anastacia's shoulder. The cheerleader turns her head to the other girl feeling even more irritated that someone that likes her treats her like this, she lets out a big sigh before saying in a sharp tone.
"Do you? You only talk to Lily and even she got tired of your personality and left, maybe it's because you are a nuisance to everyone and when this little dance ends I will be happy to do the same." Anastacia ends her sentence with a small smile seeing the way Iara's eyes hardened and her face became even more stern.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? You don't know anything about me or Lily, and do I need to remind you that you're" Iara gets up standing directly in front of Anastaca saying while she pushes her against the couch. "The one that wanted to talk to me and got butthurt when I didn't want to sit at your goddamn table." She finishes talking but keeps her hand on the cheerleader's chest.
"I wanted to talk to you before I knew you're a terrible person to be around, I just thought you looked hot but now I see that all you have is a nice body and nothing else." Anastacia faces burns with anger as she slaps Iara's hand off her chest. The other girl gets a little perplexed and for a second she lets her guard down, all of the anger leaving her body and getting instantly filled with confusion.
"...You think I am hot?" Iara slowly says as she tries to understand what Anastacia meant.
Anastacia's eyes widen and she immediately darts her eyes downwards, stopping for a second on Iara's body and then landing on the floor. She can't say if the heat she feels is from embarrassment or anger, she tries to avoid this kind of thinking but the truth in Iara's words hurts just as much as a punch, because she can't ignore something that is tangible, she actually said it.
"Yeah, you're a good looking, terrible individual, that I despise." Anastacia looks up meeting Iara's gaze and seeing a very pleased girl, it seems like the situation deescalated on its own, but Anastacia can't be the one losing like this, she can't let Iara walk away happy, she needs to find a way to sadden the other girl.
With the same confidence and a lot more cheerful than before, Iara says. "You think I look hot! That's cute, is it this outfit? Picked it just for you!"
"Shut it, let's just dance quietly, bitch..." The last word leaves before Anastacia can contain herself, she was not even thinking anything about it, they have called each other worse things, Anastacia even has a list. She was not expecting the big gasp as Iara dramatically puts a hand on her own chest and says in whisper.
"Don't call me that, that's mean, and if one of us were to be a bitch it would be you, you have piercings..." Iara laughs vociferously, tilting her head back and fixing her balance on Anastacia's shoulder, she doesn't actually believe that, she just wants to make fun of the cheerleader for having nipple piercing and in a vow of celibacy until marriage.
When Iara finishes laughing she looks down at Anastacia, for a second she assumes she is going to get punched in the face, the girl has the same face when they were locked in the janitor's closet, her face is flushed, she has a little bit of sweat going down her cheek and her hands are shaking.
Anastacia quickly moves the two girls, they both have never been in a fight but one of them spends five days a week training her body while the other drinks and skips P.E, in one moment Iara is standing on top of Anastacia holding on her should and on the other Iara has found herself laying on the couch with Anastacia sitting on her lap, before the older girl can say a sarcastic comment she gets interrupted, by a kiss.
The cheerleader realizes what happened a second too late, she kissed Iara, not only that, she is kissing Iara, she could try and pretend that she drank too much, but deep down she has been wanting to do this since they were fighting in the janitor's closet, all of the hate and annoyance at Iara are still there, but her whole body is being ignited, dominated and she feels as the same fire that was rushing through her chest earlier in the day comes back way stronger, her hands move with a certain desperation. her right hand, slightly shaking, runs through Iara's hair while the left holds the waist of the other girl. She doesn't want to stop, she loves this, for a moment she loses herself on Iara's soft lips, but when the older girl pulls away the cheerleader is brought back to reality.
Iara slowly says in a husky tone as she tries to understand what is . "Well... This is way better than dancing"
Surprisingly, it's Iara's turn to move forwards, she moves her hands to Anastacia's back and pulls her close, fully ending the distance between the two, Iara seems more experienced and calmer than Anastacia. Iara gently locks lips with her, the heart of the two rushing with desire, fear and happiness, once again Anastacia fully loses herself, she doesn't think about her responsibilities, her position, the school, her beliefs, she can only focus on Iara, she only wants to focus on Iara, she only needs Iara.
Anastacia never hated anything more than the clothes they wear, it's almost like they are restricting every movement she makes, everytime her hands move to squeeze, feel or grip a part of Iara's body she has to deal with some sort of clothing, even though Iara is wearing really revealing clothing. In a moment where they separate, Anastacia stops to truly analyze the situation.
She looks at the girl on her arms, she doesn't have to look at the sunset happening outside to know that it can't compare to Iara's beauty, Anastacia shivers in excitement, trying to take in every detail she could from Iara, it doesn't feel like she has enough time, she doesn't know if she ever will.
The way her face is flushed with pinkish undertones, her lips semi opened as she looks expectantly at Anastacia makes the cheerleader's heart race as if she is danger, and she feels like she is, Iara's eyes are full of lust and Anastacia can feel herself falling deeper and deeper in her webs.
"Take a picture, you can use it later," Iara says with a small smile.
Anastacia lets out a small laugh, that sounds more like she just inhaled loudly, her head is finally catching up with what she did and with who she did, it doesn't matter how pretty Iara is she can't do these things she has to leave immediately. Being able to see how on edge the cheerleader looks, Iara gives her best comforting smile and quickly disposes of the crop top she was wearing.
Anastacia forgot about all the problems and doubts she had.
"I don't care about later," Anastacia says, as she quickly follows Iara's lead, also taking off her shirt.
Iara changed the kisses from desperate and hungry to a more gentle and tender approach, both wanting to relish every moment together, Iara doesn't waste time, slowly moving the kisses from the mouth, to the jaw, to the neck, she stops for a second to lightly bites Anastacia's neck making sure to leave a hickey, her hands move first, climbing the cheerleader's body when they both hear knocks at the door followed by Lily's voice screaming.
"Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Please come to the door! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara!"
"Jesus!" Anastacia yelps, as she jumps from Iara's embrace as if she were touching fire, her face turns from happiness to pure disgust as she turns away and without a word quickly picks up her shirt and moves to the bathroom, hiding not only from Lily but from Iara. The other girl sits on the couch astonished by the situation as she hears the chants of "Iara! Iara! Iara! Iara!" over and over again, she sighs putting her crop top on as she sluggishly moves to the door, not hiding her discontentment as she looks at Lily.
"Hi! I wanted t— are you drunk?" Lily asked immediately, she has been around a drunk Iara enough times that she can always recognize the amount of alcohol the other girl had.
Iara rolls her eyes and says, "No, I was drinking, now scram, I'm busy, leave!" she immediately moves to close the door on her friend but is stopped by Lily's hand.
"Busy with what? Cmon I wanna apologize, stop being so extra."
"I forgive you, do you forgive me?" Iara asks but doesn't give enough time for Lily to answer. "Great we forgive each other, now can you leave?"
Lily stands still, beyond confused at the way Iara acts, they have never really fought, but from what she knows Iara is stubborn, impatient and loves to gloat, she would not simply apologize like that, nor would she accept an apology without a bit of nagging. The shorter girl looks inside Iara's house, clocking a different bag, a notebook and two cups, when her eyes finally fall on Iara wearing a very revealing crop top and miniskirt she begins to understand.
"You're doing the operation Fall In Love, right now? is... is she here?" she says in a rushed tone, but the question answers itself when Anastacia leaves the bathroom.
The two girls lock eyes, ignoring Iara's existence they try to read what the other one knows, Lily assumes Anastacia still has no idea about the plan, while Anastacia believes Lily would not be able to hide if she knew what just happened. Deciding to believe that the other girl is too stupid to presume what transpired in those walls, the cheerleader grabs her bag shoving the notebook inside and walks to the doorstep, stopping to look at Iara, completely disregarding Lily.
In a sharp whisper she says, "Check your phone, now." Without looking at Lily a second time, and not bothering to say goodbye, she quickly walked away.
Anastacia's face didn't move an inch the whole way home, every movement and action was done on autopilot, she could not begin to explain what she is thinking, the world moves too fast while simultaneously too slow, she can still taste the wine on her mouth but has never felt more sober, she can still feel the warmth of Iara's embrace but has never felt this frigid, she can still remember every moment of what happened but has never wanted to forget a full day like this.
