A small town not far from where The Black Death incident occurred, aside from the occasional resident blaring loud music, there usually isn't much that happens here. When a well known former detective from the NYPD moved in, it became an event. Lacy Wendall had been all over the news for major cases she was part of in New York.

She moved in next to Ace, who himself was a small celebrity, having starred in a major motion picture, and would have done others if not for severe injury. Ace now spends his time hanging out around the town, and recently came across something strange, in a small glass tube, a thick, oozing purple substance.

Ace was told it can be beneficial, and was designed to help the human body heal, and instead of doing research, Ace accepted it as fact, and took it home. Ace spends his time trying to decide how to use it, and finally comes to the conclusion, that he will ingest it, and see what happens.

45 minutes after ingesting it, Ace finds it hard to even stand, his entire body is weak and feels drained of everything, and when he looks in a mirror, he notices his skin becoming pale. He decides to sleep it off.

The next morning when Ace awakens, and looks in the mirror, he sees a horrific disfigured face, not the one he recognizes, and his entire body is slowly becoming disfigured, and he begins to notice anything he touches, seems to disappear. In a matter of moments, his entire home is close to empty.

He races out the front door, and his neighbour, Lacy is shocked horrified to see him.

LACY: What happened?

ACE: I ingested that purple substance, and it transformed me!

Lacy is quickly swatted away by this monster Ace has become, as he stomps down the street, and anything he touches seems to disappear into nothing. The police quickly arrive on scene, but shooting it does nothing. They try every weapon they can bring in, and nothing seems to work, until they shoot it with a bunch of stun guns at once time, the monster falls to its knees, and screams in agony, as the electricity seems to weaken it.

They continue to blast it with electricity, and it also seems to cause the monster to shrink, back to human size, until it is just Ace once again.

ACE: What just happened?

LACY: You did something you should not have done, and created a monster.

They slowly help Ace stand, and he is arrested for assaulting Lacy and causing a public menace.

Ace agrees to plead guilty.

3 MONTHS LATER:

REPORTER: The police and the city have brought in both Occult Investigators and scientists to figure out what that purple substance is, and also to find out more about The Black Death.

Ace and Lilly both sit in prison cells, heavily contained, and guarded. Both deemed high risks to the public if they are ever set free. Their cells are directly across from each other.

ACE: So you are the one who unleashed that crazy magic stuff?

LILLY: Yeah, and you were dumb enough to ingest an unknown substance. We make a team.

ACE: I was thinking maybe we should make a team ... If we can get out of here, maybe we get some revenge.

LILLY: We are never getting out. Let it go.

Ace sits in his cell, his body still recovering from the monster he became. They both sit in their cells, staring at the walls. Unfortunate events have caused them to now be prisoners, hidden in a basement prison.

Ace gets a visitor, one of the Doctors who studied the substance.

DOCTOR: It is known only as 'The Purple Poison' ... It has been known to cause abnormal transformations, and other strange things like making objects disappear. It's composition is still pretty unknown. You're lucky you lived through that.

The Doctor walks away, and Ace sits, staring blankly, and when he closes his eyes, he still has flashes of his time as the overgrown monster, and he kind of likes it.

ACE: I need to get out, and get that substance again. My life is incomplete without it.

In the weeks after his conviction, his former neighbour Lacy Wendall is terminated from the police.
