As I opened my eyes, a large black orb loomed before me, its pull irresistibly drawing me in. Attempting to speak, I found myself voiceless, helpless against the inexorable force. Within moments, I saw my own body from behind, the world around me fading into obscurity.
I felt an unseen hand guiding me towards a luminous white ring ahead, despite my futile attempts to resist. Suddenly, a torrent of memories flooded my mind—a montage of regrets and moments of my past.
In an instant, I found myself transported to a familiar place: a prayer room from my childhood. My sister stood at the altar, and as I reached out to her, I lost my balance.
Tumbling forward, I braced for impact. But instead of hitting the cold, hard floor, I found myself standing upright. The room was the same, yet different. Shadows played tricks on the walls, and a heavy silence hung in the air.
"Mom? Dad?" My voice was small and hesitant. The sound of footsteps echoed behind me. I turned to see my parents standing there, their expressions unreadable.
"Do you know why you are here?"
My mother asked, her voice soft yet tinged with sorrow.
"I don't know," I replied, my mind spinning. "The orb, the memories... it brought me here."
My father stepped forward, his eyes filled with a mixture of sternness and concern. "You've been given a second chance," he said. "A chance to make things right."
"A second chance?" I echoed, disbelief and confusion warring within me.
"What do you mean?"
"Your regrets, your past mistakes," my mother said in a calming tone.
"You've been given the opportunity to go back and change your fate."
I swallowed hard, trying to process their words.
"But... how? Why?"
"Because you're not meant to be lost," my father said. "You have the strength to change, to create a better future. But it won't be easy."
The room began to blur, the edges dissolving into a brilliant white light. I reached out, wanting to hold on and ask more questions, but the force pulling me back was too strong.
"Remember," my mother's voice echoed as the light consumed everything. "You have the power within you."
Despite having a conversation with my parents, I didn't feel the same emotions coming from them as I did in my previous life.
Now, learning that I have another family of noble origin that I was previously unaware of has put me in an even more complex state.
Suddenly, I was falling, spiraling through a tunnel of light and sound. Memories flickered past me like fragments of a shattered mirror. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the unknown.
With a jolt, I awoke. The world was sharp and clear. I was back in my childhood bedroom, the familiar scent of my old room enveloping me. Disoriented, I sat up, my heart pounding.
"I had been given a second chance."
Curious about my current status, I checked my status window. To my surprise, alongside the familiar first sub-star Serpens Noctis, I discovered that I had unlocked my second star, named 'Cosmic Abyss'. The window indicated that the conditions for its activation were met, yet it provided no details about what this star entailed or its potential effects.
Taking a deep breath, I stepped out of my room, prepared to face the world anew. I was determined to learn more about my real parents in this life, to pursue my desired revenge, and to unravel the mystery of my new star, Cosmic Abyss.
