Misfits: Spells of the Underground

Episode 2

Episode 2

Jul 21, 2024

The other side of the subway is full of bodies, grotesquely burnts, as if they had been discarded without any consideration. Broken and melted ice covers the floor, mixing with burnt stains that mark the walls and seats. The smell of burning flesh fills my nostrils, a sickening sensation that makes my stomach turn.

Breathing heavily, I move closer to the door, trying to understand what happened. In the middle of the carriage, I see a man with black clothes. His skin is marked by scars that run the length of his arm, intertwined with a blue tattoo that glows eerily in the dim light.

Our gazes meet, his blue eyes staring at mine. A chill runs down my spine, and without thinking, I take a step back, as if my legs have taken on a life of their own.

Fear paralyzes me for a moment, my body frozen in pure terror as I try to process the image before me.

I looked at the other occupants, their expressions reflecting my own fear and shock. In their eyes, I saw a reflection of my own vulnerability and uncertainty in the face of this horror.

Determined to uncover the truth and understand the nightmare unfolding before me, I swallowed hard, steeled myself, and took a tentative step toward the blood-stained window. My heart was pounding in my chest, but I pushed the fear aside, driven by an insatiable curiosity and the need for answers.

My attention was then attracted by a sight that left me astonished.

Three people wearing the same red jacket, armed were in the middle of a heated conflict, their words lost in the chaos.

"Just kill him already!" shouted one of them, his voice full of anger.

"You said everything would be fine!" another shouted, his voice full of frustration.

"Shut up! I'm going to kill this bastard!" shouted a third.

In the midst of the chaos, a fourth individual, wearing the same clothing, writhed on the floor, his skin charred and screaming in pain. His words were lost in the cacophony of the unfolding fight.

The floor of the car began to shake around the third, and then, as if the subway was responding to his dark will, cracks echoed across the metallic surface. Sharp spikes of crystalline ice began to emerge from the ground, like sprouts of macabre plants, breaking through the metallic surface with a piercing sound.

The thorns grew quickly, their tips shining in the dim firelight. Sharp as razor blades, each of them was as tall as a man. With a subtle movement of his fingers, he gestured toward the tattooed man, pointing with demonic precision.

The ice spikes, like a wave, began to rush towards the target, whistling through the air. However, the man with tattoos summoned blue flames that began to surround him, and he began to dodge the deadly spikes in one fluid motion.
The thorns, now targetless, continued their relentless trajectory, hitting innocent people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Screams of pain echoed through the carriage, mixing with the sounds of collisions and crashes.

I found myself rooted to the spot, unable to look away from the violent spectacle unfolding before me.
Fear, curiosity and disbelief coursed through my veins, leaving me powerless, a mere witness to this scenario.

As I forced my eyes across the scene, the flames illuminated the horror before me with an almost surreal intensity. The man engulfed in fire moved quickly, dancing dangerously between the sharp ice spikes that were thrown towards him and the bullets that tore through the entire carriage. His every movement was a symphony of fearlessness and power as the air crackled with electricity, each shock echoing with deafening intensity.

The train car's lights shattered with each shot, casting us into an unsettling darkness. As the subway advanced, plunging us into darkness, I felt trapped in this hellish nightmare.

The only sources of light were the dancing flames that enveloped the man, transforming him into a sinister figure, and the fleeting flashes of weapons in action. It was a macabre dance of shadows and fire, a deadly battle before me, and from behind that door it felt like I was looking through a portal into a cruel fantasy world.
