The Genocide of the Beast.
_**Chapter 1**_
The origin.
In an alternate reality, the kingdom of Murs, which has been practically removed from any type of external contact, the people have remained distant from their king to the point of forgetting him, and all this for the simple fact that after King Vlad died, his son and heir to the Throne, Prince Bastian, had been bewitched and turned into a ruthless, vengeful and soulless beast, who did not care who lived or who died, he only cared about the number of people who could hunt every day, so there were very high numbers of human hunts, which led to the common people gradually moving away from the kingdom and remaining hidden among the nearby mountains, but this was not enough, because the young prince was still thirsty for that bittersweet delicacy such as human flesh, this reality being what forced the guards of his Castle to also abandon that already terrifying place in order to save themselves from death cruel and painful, which often made one think that the young man was crazy, and perhaps he was, but among the madness the truth always appears, since the sorceress had died a long time ago and the beast's castle was desolate, rugged and with a smell from beyond the grave that chilled the blood of the bravest and most daring warrior...
But, as in any good story a solution is always needed for any curse, Bastian had to find someone who was not afraid to kill him to free him from his sentence and only then would his human form return intact, however, seeing as they had spent almost 10 years since that event, no one cared about wanting to confront the beast, which only made Bastian merge more and more with his bestial side, almost completely forgetting the human sensitivity that once existed in him...
The people who lived in the mountains had almost immediately forgotten that they had ever had a king, as they had long ago stopped seeing him as a figure of authority and power and now saw him with eyes of fear and terror.
Much was said about anyone who tried to cross the forest to reach the castle, few had been brave enough to risk crossing through that terrifying and rugged forest, because even nature seemed dead in that place that led to the road to the castle the castle that once belonged to the royal family; It was not that there were no royal relatives left, but that they were all terrified with the idea of having to face at some point the horrible monster that Bastian became, because they really believed that it was a demon that had possessed his body. and the real Bastian was dead, and therefore, the only thing they saw was a predator hungry for flesh and blood, without caring about the gender or age and much less the size of those he crossed paths with, that's why on the walls of that castle was adorned with decomposing heads and bodies as collection prizes, which were so many that they covered practically half of the castle, already considered cursed.
However, from time to time greedy young men appeared who claimed to be fully prepared to bring the beast's head and parade it around the town as a synonym for "Victory", but instead, it was its bodies hanging and decomposing as he preferred them the palate of the beast, where the flag that corresponded to the kingdom once flew, leaving mothers and entire families full of pain as they saw for three days how the winter wind that seemed to be the only season that accompanied them throughout the year, fiercely shook the inert bodies of those brave young people who believed they could go from failure to success in one step, forgetting that they should have planned a strategy to succeed and survive, since from the moment they set foot in the forest, the present nature offered cooperation with the beast by whispering to him that a new prey and future meal had just entered his territory; and this for a born predator, was like handing food on a golden platter, that's how easy it was to pamper the beast that was once a human being, but that being a beast for so long, had almost completely lost any trace of humanity and respect that he had once had with his peers, only the elders of the town who lived during the young Prince Bastian's youth remembered what he had been like: an arrogant, pretentious, moody young man with airs of superiority and narcissism: it was the most accurate description of basic knowledge that could be had the once human, perhaps his own behavior had brought him to that point and perhaps one day he would recover, but the hope was so vague that first the beast would eat all the townspeople.
Before salvation came, probably the town would be the victim of a true apocalypse at the hands of its ruler, because at any moment all it would take was for the beast to decide to go beyond the forest to get the feast that it longed for so much in its distant memories…
