The guards were preoccupied to go after Grant, however, the explosion efficiently accomplished its task by destroying both the supplies and the portal in one go. The Great Horror, who had been influencing the guards, was furious and set out to find Grant for foiling his master's schemes.

The Great Horror possessed a large, round body reminiscent of a toad, adorned with spines on its back and small spines covering its entire form. Its wide mouth was lined with sharp fangs stretching from ear to ear, while its long claws also had webbing. Its eyes were big, round, and wide, with two eyelids.

The Great Horror observed the chaos unfolding before him, taking in the sight of Grant, Kwitwaka, and the guards frantically attempting to extinguish the fires that were consuming everything. With a sinister grin, the demonic toad revealed its razor-sharp fangs, before causing a transformation of all elements into tainted crystals, from the flames to the water spells, and even some of the guards. In a swift motion, the demonic toad leaped towards Grant.

Grant observed the transformation of everything into tainted crystals, and then the demonic toad appeared behind him, creating a strong gust of wind upon landing. He was pushed forward by the force of the breeze, but managed to regain his composure and turned around slowly, his face displaying a mix of shock and fear.

With a single powerful blow, the evil toad struck Grant, sending him flying backward into a massive crystal. Grant collided with the crystal, resulting in blood being expelled from his mouth and him sliding down to the ground. Gasping for air, Grant coughed as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His face turned pale as he glared up at the monstrous toad, while the toad returned the glare with rage in its eyes.

The demonic toad emitted an aura so malevolent that Grant felt nauseous and weak. In the language of demons, the Great Horror expressed delight at the prospect of slaying a beast slayer. Grant struggled to rise, but succumbed to the overpowering force, his vision blurring as he fought to keep his eyes open.

The demon toad's smile widened as it spoke in its own tongue, "What's the matter, human? Can't keep your eyes open? How disappointing. I was hoping to unleash my full power to crush you, but this? This is just sad and pitiful." The demon toad advanced towards Grant, who frantically crawled away in terror, battling against his dizziness and fear. Suddenly, Kwitwaka, the panther, pounced on the demon toad's back, sinking its teeth and claws into the creature's flesh.

The demonic toad let out a deafening roar of pain, causing Kwitwaka to be flung off its back as it spun around with great force. Kwitwaka managed to land on her feet and slid, swiftly getting back into a fighting stance, prepared to strike once more and releasing a fierce roar in the direction of the demonic toad. Yet, the Great Horror locked eyes with Kwitwaka, its sinister golden gaze unwavering. In a matter of moments, Kwitwaka transformed into a black, crystallized statue of a panther.

Grant's vision suddenly sharpened, allowing him to witness the fate of Kwitwaka. As he discovered that Kwitwaka had been transformed into a crystal statue, Grant struggled to stand up, using the crystal as support. He was gasping for air and appeared barely able to remain upright.

The demonic toad was taken aback when he saw Grant standing alone, questioning, "Oh? look at you standing on your own, but why?" He then turned his gaze towards the statue of Kwitwaka, smirking with malevolence, suggesting, "Perhaps this feline?" The demonic toad shifted his attention between Grant and Kwitwaka, observing as Grant's complexion returned to normal. Expressing his disdain, the demonic toad remarked, "Such feebleness will not be tolerated." With a look of malice in his eyes, he extended his hand toward the crystallized panther, his glare intensifying as he drew closer to the statue.

Grant abruptly lunges forward, extending his foot as if preparing to attack the massive toad. In an instant, Grant vanishes, only to reappear facing the sinister toad, his back turned to the Great Horror. A silver cross materializes on the demon's back, resembling wounds from a blade. Grant suppresses tears, whimpering, "Do not lay a finger on her..." Grant sways unsteadily, as if intoxicated or disoriented by the demon's overpowering presence. Gradually, the demon's influence wanes as it is struck, and Grant's gaze grows more resolute.

The demonic toad stood motionless, gazing up at the sky briefly, before suddenly bursting into a sinister laughter. Its eyes, now a menacing gold hue, locked onto Grant. Grant met the demon's gaze with unwavering determination, a glint of silver shining in his eyes.

The demon toad was surprised when Grant didn't turn into a crystalized statue and exclaimed, "Oh... look at you! You're immune to my purification." Despite the intense confrontation and the demon's shocked expression, Grant continued to struggle with the demon's aura. The demon lunged at Grant, striking him once more with its wet, slimy claw. Grant took the hit, crashing into another crystal. However, the crystal shattered as Grant passed through it and collided with another crystal. Grant coughed up more blood, but he quickly covered his mouth, trying to hold back the urge to vomit from the demonic energy. Blood dripped from his hand as he muttered to himself, "This is bad, I can't handle his energy."

The demon's eyes pierced through the debris that Grant had just crashed into, pouncing on him and delivering a swift kick. Grant was sent flying once more but managed to stand up amidst the shattered crates and barrels. As he tried to concentrate on the Great Horror, the demon reappeared in front of him, landing another blow. A scar was left on Grant's cheek, a reminder of the demon's power to corrupt through blood. Grant bled profusely, yet miraculously remained uninfected, defying the demon's attempts to turn him into a sin kin.

The demon hovered over Grant as he hit the ground, glaring in rage. "Do you think this city will be safe after your little stunt? After I kill you, I will slaughter this entire city!"

Grant envisioned the siren family in his thoughts. Suddenly, a silver mist emerged from his body, enveloping his wounds and bruises, but regrettably, it did not mend them. Grant shifted his focus to his buttocks and then to his feet, shooting a fierce look at the demon. His eyes had transformed, no longer lined with silver, but now emitting a silver glow. With anger in his voice, Grant declared, "You better not bring harm to the innocent!" as he stood his ground firmly, surrounded by silver mist resembling flames.

Grant acted swiftly, charging at the demon and slashing him with one of his daggers before disappearing, leaving a silver image behind. The demon attempted to counterattack but missed, as Grant reappeared and struck him repeatedly, leaving silver slash marks on the demon's body. Finally, Grant declared, "Beast slayer's art: Silver Stinger!" and every slash mark on the demon's body glowed a silver hue.

The demon let out a deafening roar before collapsing, causing Grant to drop to one knee and cough up blood. As he looked around, he saw the corrupted guards returning to normal and quickly extinguishing the flames. Kwitwaka had also been restored to her original form. Grant smiled before losing consciousness, leaving Kwitwaka bewildered by the events that had transpired.

The guards saw Grant on the ground, they knew a human should be there so they surrounded him getting ready to arrest him, but Kwitwaka also spotted this and she rushed towards Grant protecting him and sending a powerful roar at the guards. The guards didn't want to get close to the human as a mighty panther blocked their path.

Kwitwaka put Grant on her back and the guard let the panther pass as it growled and hissed at them, intimidating them. As Kwitwaka ran past the surrounding guards who were clearly scared of her, she ran towards the only place she knew; the siren family's place.

Kwitwaka sprinted and skillfully avoided the guards in her path as she made her way to the Siren family's home. Upon arrival, she released a powerful roar in an attempt to capture the family's attention. The children of the siren family, initially thrilled by the commotion, quickly became distressed and frightened when they spotted Grant on Kwitwaka's back, battered and bruised.

Overwhelmed with fear, the children rushed back inside, tears streaming down their faces. Moments later, the teenage siren emerged to investigate the situation, only to gasp in horror at the sight of Grant. The father peered out from the doorframe, his expression a mix of concern and sternness.

The father quickly grabbed a hammock and they brought him indoors. Grant had just woken up, still feeling the pain from his battle. The father scolded him as if he were his own child, "You idiot, what were you thinking?" Grant chuckled and replied, "You should see the other guy." He followed it up with a coughing laugh and winced in pain. The teenage siren scolded him next, "Stop it, this is serious! You could have been killed!" The family took care of Grant, nursing him back to health, while Kwitwaka kept the guards away to ensure they didn't bother the family or Grant.
