The brain of this man, Aiko thought. “That was entirely different. It did not really interfere with my current lifestyle as this has. My guest room is cluttered, so either I sleep elsewhere, we sleep together, or she sleeps elsewhere. Yet, I find even myself no matter how annoyed I am, to be married to that- to that spoiled brat of all people, not wanting her to sleep on the floor. So I guess we’ll have to make due with that! And that’s not even all, now I have to give her money and things! I have to live with someone else in my own home!” Aiko nearly shouted, speaking fast-paced.
Kalani raised his eyebrows, and smiled suddenly. “…People in our class have arranged marriages all the time, does it really bother you that much?”
“Of course it does,” Aiko spit out. “You try being married to a stranger and see how much you like.”
“You speak of her like she’s a complete stranger. She was your sisters childhood friend, why not ask her about Momo? Or how about this, actually have a conversation with your wife instead of deciding to pretend as though she does not exist.” Kalani grinned slightly and tilted his head.
His friend however, decided to take no notice of his suggestion. “Anyways, how is Chloe?” He asked, changing his expression to reveal joy.
“She is well, university is treating her right.”
Aiko stretched his arms out and yawned. “I miss our days at university. It was much better than life now, for me at least.”
“Of course it was, you have to actually do work now,” Kalani teased.
Aiko groaned in annoyance. “Well, what can I say, I am most certainly slothful and most sluggish.” He suddenly smiled.
“I can’t argue with that.”
Aiko laughed. “Well, that’s only okay when I say it about myself.”
Kalani’s eyes lit up for a moment, recalling something. “Oh, I almost forgot, on Monday we have have meeting with Lord Hugo and Lady Gina for their Reinhon party in a few weeks.”
Aiko shook his head and sighed in extreme disapproval. He thought of how he just needed a few weeks break to do nothing but read books and travel around the country for a holiday. “Of course there is.”
“It brings in good money though for your father.”
Aiko nodded. “Yes, but it brings so much work for me.”
Not entirely, Kalani thought. His mind began to think of the many late work-nights he spent while his manager went to socialize or went to a library finish whatever book he was reading at that time. It was an understatement to say that Kalani felt used half the time he worked while Aiko Nano did nothing.
