Only fifteen minutes had passed when there was a knock at his study door. “Can you leave me alone?” Aiko questioned with exasperation, sighing extremely loudly.
He heard the wood shift as Momo had walked away, a pause in her pace with each of her steps. He stood up and jogged quickly to the door, opening it and turning to his left to see his new wife.
“What could you possibly need?” He asked in anger. She turned back to him as he cleared his throat, trying to minimize his outburst.
“Dinner is ready.”
Aiko shook his head. “Do you really think I would eat that food you made? I didn’t exactly want to marry you. Stop trying to play the good wife card! I truly wanted to enjoy my life instead of being forced into playing the good husband! I have already stated, I don’t care what you do, it’s best we ignore each other!” He shouted.
He paused, realizing what he said. He looked at her face, seeing how down casted she appeared. He didn’t mean to hurt her feelings, she just had to see his side. He was young, being married isn’t something he imagined.
“…I’m sorry. Listen, we were both forced into this. I know you aren’t exactly thrilled to be married either like this. I have my own dearest, I just found out about our marriage not even a week ago. And now I’m supposed to play husband to someone I barely know. You are practically a stranger.”
Lord Kanaka said we’ve been promised to each other for a few years, Momo thought.
“…”
Aiko stood vertically, looking at her. “Mmgh!” He slightly shouted, then laughed suddenly. He turned back to his study. “I’ll be in here if there is an emergency.”
