I looked at the paper. It was written in a language I didn’t understand. I stood there for a moment. I stared at the unfamiliar symbols. “I can’t read this,” I spoke. “Oh, my mistake,” she smiled, reaching her hand toward me. “Universal_Language,” she whispered. Almost instantly, the paper seemed to shift and turn, the symbols rearranging themselves into something legible. I could read it now. ======================================== What would you like your adventurer name to be? What role or class do you specialize in ? What are your goals within the guild Do you have any prior experience What magic do you want to specialize in? ================================== An adventurer name is essentially a gamer tag, and it’s best to keep your true name hidden in worlds like these. I’ve heard stories that your true name holds power over you, but I never truly understood what they meant. In the game, I always went by Wan. I used the name so much that my sister even started calling me Wan. I picked it because it was the first MMO I ever played, and I’ve been hooked on it since the game first came out. So, I’ll choose it again now. I couldn’t think of a class right away. If this were a game, I’d probably go with something reckless, like a warrior or mage, but I want to stay in the back, stay safe. Since I don’t have anyone to adventure with and considering how big this floor is, it’d be almost impossible to find my sister. A lot of people are probably missing their families, and kids like the ones from before are probably confined to the safe zones. So, I’ll choose a ninja. My goal with the guild is strength. I want to never be put in a situation like that again. I’ve never fought before, but I want to specialize in fire/lightning magic. I handed her back the paper with my answers filled out, and a few moments later, she handed me an ID as well as 1 gold. ======= Adventurer: Wan Class: Ninja Title:Undetermined Guild Name: guildless Mana level: Low Stone Rank: Undetermined R1 ======== The ID had a small picture of me, my disheveled hair even more evident, and a small smile crossed my face. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" she smiled. "Yes, can I have any books you have on an intro to magic?" "Sure," she smiled again. "Do you want to buy it or just read it?" "Just read it," I smiled back. She handed me the book labeled Intro to Magic by Master Magician, and I walked over to a small table in the corner as more players pushed their way into the guild, yelling, screaming, complaining. It was so loud it was hard to make out any words.
