Cypress swung around though, when he heard Lee crying loudly. He saw Lee curled up, crying his heart out, his face twisted in anger and pain. Cypress sat down next to him and sighed, realizing just how much that probably hurt. "Please..." Lee sobbed. "Please, don't come near me. I just want to be left alone." Cypress ignored him and wrapped his arms around him, pulling him into a hug. "Don't worry. I said I wasn't going to hurt you again and I meant it." Cypress whispered. "I'm sorry that I scared you, and I'm sorry about what your mother said." Lee stared in surprise but then hugged him back and cried into his shoulder. After awhile, Cypress carefully untangled himself from Lee, who had now fallen asleep, and laid him gently against the base of a tree. "What am I going to do now...?" Cypress whispered to himself as he laid down next to the water with a sigh.
Lee woke up to see the sun rising slowly into the sky, with a hazy mist hanging heavily in the air. He looked around until he spotted Cypress sitting by the water, drawing things in the sand. Lee, not having the courage to say anything, waited for Cypress to notice he was awake. It took almost fifteen minutes for Cypress to turn around and notice him. "Oh! good morning!" Cypress grinned. "Hey... about last night..." Lee hesitated awkwardly. "I'm sorry I got so overemotional." "Ah, it's fine." Cypress dismissed, trying to change the subject. "But... um I have a question." "Yeah?" Lee asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you want me to fix your hip?" Cypress asked, coming to sit by him. "If you wouldn't mind." Lee muttered, a slight bitterness creeping into his voice. "It would probably be easier to walk with both functioning legs." "After It's healed, the pain should fade." Cypress said, taking Lee's shorts elastic and sliding it down so he could reach the skin. Lee's face turned pink as Cypress put his hands on his skin. After a minute, Cypress pulled away and stood up. "There." He said. "You should be able to walk fine now." Lee pulled himself upright, still wobbly. An awkward silence filled the space as they both waited for the other to say something. Cypress sighed. "You should probably go back to the city." He admitted, turning away. "I have to get going anyway." "But...!" Lee blurted. "I can't! I don't have anywhere to go, and I don't even know the way back!" "Can't you just rent an apartment or something?" Cypress asked. "With what money?" Lee retorted. "Besides the minute they realize how old I am, they'll just send me back to my mother, or the authorities." "Right..." Cypress mumbled, trying to think of another idea. "Can... Can I... Come with you...?" Lee faultered nervously.
