How They Meet

 The sun rises, shining light into a messy bedroom. Dresses, bows, dolls and shoes scattered everywhere. A girl groans from the floor, her long hair going everywhere. She covers her face with her hands letting out a whine. The door swings open with a young three year old boy running in. The girl groans louder as the boy lands on her yelling. “ Mommy get up! Get up!” The 14 year old girl sighs sitting up. “Ollie bear remember you can’t call me mommy otherwise Mrs. Page will get mad.” She looks down at the mocha eyed boy. The little boy pouts looking at her. “No you mommy. Not Miss. Poopoo.” The girl holds back a laugh and gets up off the floor picking up the little boy. “Ollie bear what am I to do with you? Okay you can call me mommy when we’re alone but not in front of anyone even your daddy. Call me Kimmy in front of everyone else.” She kisses the little boy’s cheek. The little boy nods happily giving her a kiss on her cheek. Kimmy smiles and sits the little boy on her bed going to the closet to get dressed in clothes her older brother got her. She comes out and lets him down going to the bathroom with him following her. He goes to the shower, turning it on, putting a towel over her shoulders to cover her shirt. She puts her head under the water, having the boy hand her the comb and combing out her hair. Eventually finished and dried everything off going to help the little boy get dressed eventually walking them downstairs.

 Kimmy looks around only seeing her brother with his brown hair brushed back dressed and ready for work. Ollie quickly runs up to the man, “Daddy Daddy you play with me today?” The man looks down at the child and pats his head giving a guilty smile. “Not today Oliver I got an important guest today. But Kim and Mommy will play with you. I’ll play with you tomorrow.” Kim rolls her eyes walking to the fridge getting out some eggs to make her and Ollie. “Julio, you and I both know your wife is going out today. It’s her girl's weekend.” The man looks at her slightly annoyed by her tone. “Kim she won’t be gone all day. Also you need to be less cold to her, you're really hurting her feelings.” Kim continued what she was doing, glancing at him. “Julio, don't bring that up again. I just don’t have much in common with her. Also you should really tell her to stop trying to make him call her Mommy. Big sis Ophelia won’t like that. You know she gets back in a few more years.” The man held himself from snapping at that statement. “ We’ll talk about that later. You better not be talking about her to him.” Kim sighs, putting the eggs on a plate, cutting them up more. “No Mama talks about her. You know she did nothing wrong. But we’ll talk about that later and go ahead to work. I can take care of Ollie by myself. I've done it since he was born.” Moved to the table putting down the plate of cut up eggs going over and taking Ollie from her brother. “Fine but Kim we are all going to sit and talk about this with Mama.” Kim only nods and says bye to her brother while trying to stop Ollie from spilling food while he energetically says bye to her brother. “ Ollie bear, no standing in the chair please.” The little boy apologizes while Kim smiles at him happily. It's just them again. “It’s okay I just don’t want you getting hurt. Kimmy gets sad if she sees you hurt.” She hugs the little boy and continues to help him eat. Going about their morning together.
