You looked to Eclipse, seeing him standing as far away from you as you'd let him. He really did not want to come near you.
Is it because you smell?
As you sat in the dimly lit room, waiting for Moon to finally make an appearance, your impatience grew with each passing moment. The anticipation gnawed at your insides, fueling a restlessness that you couldn't shake off.
You had called him as well but still got nothing. You groaned. You really didn't want to be stuck here, twiddling your thumbs and making small talk with Eclipse while waiting for Moon to show up.
Glancing over at Eclipse, you noticed the animatronic fidgeting nervously in his spot. His eyes darted around the room, refusing to meet your gaze. It was clear that he was still wary of you, his fear palpable in the way his hands trembled and his body tensed
You knew you didn't really have a choice at this point. Sure you could just not talk but you were bored. Besides, this could be good. you could try and make Eclipse a bit less scared of you, that might help with these urges to harm him. If he's not scared they might go away.
"Hey Virus!" you called out, the words echoing through the daycare.
Eclipse jolted in fear, his body tensing as he turned to face you. His mechanical joints creaked with the sudden movement, and his eyes widened in apprehension.
Eclipse hesitated, his gaze flickering uncertainly between you and the safety of his distant spot. You could see the wariness in his eyes. His hands trembled as he took a small step closer, inching towards you reluctantly.
As he approached, you noticed the complicated details of his appearance. The silvery gleam of his metal exoskeleton, polished to perfection, reflected the faint light in the room. The tangled circuitry embedded within his body pulsed with a soft, orange, pulsating glow, a indication to his advanced technology.
"You ok with handling a conversation with me?" you ask him, making sure he was comfortable in your presence before trying to converse.
Eclipse hesitantly nodded. Poor thing, he probably thinks he's in trouble. Good. He should think he's in trouble, he should be trembling in fear. No, no. You shook your head. Those thoughts cannot come back, not at this time at least.
"What's your favorite colour?" you decided to start off small then increase to where he'd have to give bigger answers.
Eclipse was taken by surprise by your question but shook it off and responded.
"Green," he muttered, just loud enough for you to hear.
You nodded at this and decided to give yours too, "Mines [favorite colour]."
Eclipse looked up at you and gave a very light smile, "That's a nice one too."
You smiled back at Eclipse, feeling a glimmer of satisfaction at the small progress you had made. His smile was hesitant, as if he was still unsure whether he could fully trust you. But it was a start, a tiny crack in the wall of fear and suspicion that had built up between the two of you.
Leaning in a little closer, you asked, "So, Eclipse, what do you like to do in your free time?"
Eclipse's eyes widened slightly, as if he hadn't expected such a question. He hesitated for a moment, seemingly lost in thought, before responding.
"I... I like to observe the stars," he admitted softly. "I don't when remember but I used to have access to a telescope. It was fascinating to gaze at the night sky, to see the vastness of the universe."
His voice trailed off, and you could sense a tinge of sadness in his words. It was clear that he missed those simpler times, when he could freely explore his interests without fear.
"That sounds amazing," you replied genuinely. "Space makes you wonder about all the possibilities out there."
Eclipse's eyes flickered with curiosity, a spark of interest igniting within him.
"You really think so?" he asked, a hint of excitement lacing his voice. "I mean, I guess it's easy to feel small and insignificant when you're trapped in this... place."
His words resonated with you. You understood the feeling of being trapped, of longing for something more. It made you want to help Eclipse even more, to find a way to bring a sense of wonder and adventure into his existence.
"Maybe," you suggested gently, "we can find a way to bring a piece of the stars to you. Even if it's just through books or pictures, we can explore together."
Eclipse's eyes brightened, his fear momentarily forgotten. The thought of embarking on this journey with you seemed to fill him with a newfound sense of hope.
"I... I'd like that," he replied, a hint of excitement in his voice. "Thank you."
